Jay I completely understand the observation nerves. I am a retired EC (special Ed) teacher and one principal I worked for had no idea about the disabilities or quirks of my children. It was never a calm hour for me.

My Dad andI did some projects together and I will always remember how much fun we had together. He passed away 37 years ago when I was 33 so all the times we spent together now mean so much more.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I cant wait to see the finished project and I love your channel Summer
This took me back many years ago when my folks redid the kitchen cup boards, sheeesh it was a lot of work . They ended up putting a multiple coats of poly urethane over the paint. They have long since moved, I can't imagine the new owners kept them . Picture this: mustard yellow with honey tinted Poly Urethane . . . . . . *crickets* yes it was ghastly but it was the 70's . . . .
Love the way the family chip in and help you with you revamp of your toilet. Just show how close a family you are ❤
Being a cabinet installer for a second job. It really rubs me that there was no 45 degree angle on the decor raised panels on doors. I guess it's an antique panel look. :)
Nothing like a project that includes the family, hats off to the Corn Star family for support, that's what families do, I enjoy all the videos while waiting on warm sunny days here in Kentucky. Corn Star Family Rock On

DC is absolutely correct 👏 that you should do final dust removal with a tack cloth. You don’t want to use water, as that will raise the grain, causing the surface to "nap". 🥰
💡 You can buy tack cloths, or you can make your own real cheap.👍
💡 BIG HINT... always wear gloves when you use them! 🥰

I build dollhouses so I am OCD on sanding but I sell the dollhouses. I go with the grain of wood. But you are doing a great job. Keep up the great work!

Just an FYI from a long time wood worker, its better to use yellow carpenters glue for gluing two pieces of wood. That caulking you used is way too thick. You made an excellent choice with the poplar, its a good stable wood and takes paint super well. I use it on all my projects that will be painted.
The only thing I would do different is sanding and painting the other side of the doors. It would just bother me knowing they were not finished.

I was just thinking you should have got some tack cloth and Daddy Cornstar mentioned it. I used to help my dad refinish furniture. It's rewarding to see your finished piece!

I like the new facelift on the cupboard's. It's amazing how a little bit of this or that can bring a new look. I am always doing things with my family to on project's, makes things memorable

I thing the cabinet doors are coming out nice, i like the 1/4" x 2 trim idea.
I would have used a spackling blade to spread the wood filler instead of a small putty knife.

Hope you added a duplex outlet on each side of the sink for his and hers. Amazing the amount of appliances in the bathroom. Hair dryer, phone chargers, Cordless mustache and beard trimmers. Not that you have all these but maybe you do. Charge the phone if you use it for music while doing bathroom type stuff.
OMG, I jumped when the mirror fell forward. GOOD CATCH SUMMER !!
If there are homemade chocolate chip cookies in the house I eat those for breakfast. They are better than doughnuts.

Just starting the video and I see that I've got that very same mirror setup in my bathroom and have wanted to replace it for years! So glad to get some tips. Wait. Just 4 screws holding it up? And then the light portion is separate? All this time I thought the whole thing was all one piece and I didn't know how I'd get it removed by myself (not having a cadre of helpers). Now that I've seen this I know it is something I can tackle on my own. Thanks for that. (I'm a new sub, having been a Cole the Cornstar fan for quite some while now. I've also subbed to DC's and Cooper's channels as well. Y'all are a lot of fun for this shut-in to watch.) Can't wait to see the rest of the remodel!

Oh my ID love to work with my dad again. He taught me how to do things in construction. As a girl that has six brothers I was expected to do the same things they did. Learned slot from my dad. My daughter is a JR high band and music teacher. She hates observation times. I tell her why just be yourself She always does well. She is a mess with the covid 19 getoing on. She had it already. Now that she is back teaching at least 45 kids are sick with covid weekly. I'll be glad when we can live a normal life. Your bathroom needs a accent wall. I put up one wall of wallpaper and we liked it so much the whole bathroom got papered. I love installing paper. Also do tile. Very satisfying when your down. Take care and God bless you all

Cliff hanger........LOL I was sooooo wating to see at least a peek! LOL I guess I"ll have to return again........anxious to see what you have done! Remodeling gets us in trouble as then the next room looks dated and then I always want to redo the next room.

If you want a smooth finish on the cabinets, lightly sand between coats of paint and use a foam roller.

Good ideas. If you are going to paint the inside of the drawers and cabinets, you need to do at least a light sanding to get old varnish off and the paint to adhere. I also suggest some tack nails from the back (of the door) to hold the trim on. Cabinets and drawers get a lot of abuse. I also suggest electric outlets on both sides of the vanity. You’ll never regret having extra outlets! Plugging in a diffuser, toothbrush charger, hairdryer, flat iron, etc.

I would have sanded an 80 gritt..then 220/then 320 ... would have saved using the wood filler.. but more sanding... its half of one or another...

This was GREAT! Learned a lot, including what materials you’ll need!👍🏾. I have a used dresser top that needs redoing. Polish remover stripped a large section and it’s discolored. I can do that now! Request more projects and thrifting!

If the remodel is complete disregard this suggestion😂. Since you’re adding one outlet by the toilet. You could go ahead and add a second outlet by the light switch. You can never have too many outlets in the bathroom. In the outlet by the toilet, consider adding the type that has two USB inputs for phone charging while leaving the two outlets available. We really enjoy ours. Great job so far.

Make sure you use caulking inside the new frame and the front panel so it looks seamless. Can wait to see it all finished.
