Daddy Cornstar is the best! Love watching him interact with you! We usually only get to see him with the boys!
Hey summer a drone shot of the family farm blown up on a canvas would be cool. But maybe wait until summer time when the grass is all green & pretty.
I never ripped Kleenex in half but because of the shortage on some things, I do tear paper towels in half when you can't find the 'tear-a-square' ones.
Same here
If I bought paper towels I would do that too! They are expensive!
We tear napkins in half. Don’t use paper towels.
To all viewers who aren't of British origin, I often see the same struggle in pronouncing Worcestershire sauce.
I promise you, cross my heart, we pronounce it either as Wooster sauce, or Woostershuh sauce. Dead simple! 👍😊
I post this every time I watch a video where someone isn't sure how to say it.
Trying to make life a little easier for non British cooks one video at a time. 😘 💖
Must our British roots but I don't think Aussies have any problems pronouncing that.
We just call it L and Ps!
Brit here ...I say Wooster or Wooster sauce
Easy.
Wooster-Shear.
Case closed/
I just call it "What's this here Sauce" 🤪🤪
My late mom would put a Kleeenx in the wrist area in her sleeve, we could almost "track" her path as the Kleeenx would fall out. It got to be a joke!! I really miss her and her Kleeenx "trail"
I love that!
Karyl Harris. I do the same thing if I don’t have pockets. If I wear short sleeves I put them in the waste band in my slacks
@@oldlady2923 That's funny!!😊
I am supporting your husband in this! I do the exact thing and have for years! Decades! I will use the tissue as neatly as possible, then tear off and dispose of the used part. The unused part can be "on deck" for the next sniffle or perhaps a runny nose after coming back in from the cold! It's a habit I developed as a kid growing up. We were a big family. Dad worked but mom stayed home to raise us which was a blessing, but gave us a tighter budget. You learn how to do what you need to do in order to stretch a dollar. 😀
You have some great Thrift stores near you. I wish we had the same here, on Long Island New York. Amazing pieces you got, and the prices are amazing.
I usually use two tissues because snot leakage freaks me out. As for paper towels I try to use cloth to wipe up spills and just rinse well and wash in hot soapy water ready to use again.
I use two as well sometimes, or fold over the tissue, because of the same thing! (Ick!) Tissues, like everything else, have gotten smaller and thinner over the years. I had run across some 'vintage' Kleenex in a old winter coat recently and was amazed at the difference. I have piles of rags for clean-up jobs too - our old t-shirts get cut up and I have a stack of the resulting rags under the sink to use for random cleaning/spills.
Haha! I didn’t know that Jay tore his Kleenex in half!
If you’re taking a poll, I put mine in my pocket :-)
As for the tissue issue I use t.p. instead, but I do rip my paper towels in half.
Store bought bbq sauce is way loaded with sugar there and some great recipes online that you can use your homemade tomato sauce from
I thought for sure that Daddy Cornstar was going to say he got paint on the ceiling because Cole shoved him.
( you always blame the guy who wasn't there 😉)
I have enjoyed this video especially watching you with your parents. I need to start visiting all of our thrift stores. I do not tear my Kleenex in half, however I sometimes put it in my pocket if I just sneezed in it. Thanks for sharing❤️❤️❤️
Blow and Throw... Ain't tearing 'em or totin 'em!!!
Use it and toss it! I always need more than one layer, so I fold my tissues in half and use both halves at the same time. Then I toss it. 😁
I love the tearing of the kleenex. I do this with paper towels. Last year I made a point of being frugal, and we paid off our Volkswagen. Now I just love using up what we have. If something breaks, we fix it instead of buying new. I enjoy it. Love your channel summer
You find such cool stuff thrifting. Summer your videos is like finding a long lost friend and just catching up,but mostly because you are so genuine. I love these
Always great to see MC. Ask her to show us some easy Instant Pot recipes. I bet that she has some hearty soup recipes that she can share. I agree that you need to eat at home more. You live too far away from town to be eating out.
yes! We actually eat out less than a handful of times a month. :)
Keep warm!! Love seeing J preaching. Love you! ❤
You are a breath of fresh air!
I go through Kleenexes like there's no tomorrow.... I would never dream of ripping one in half. Haha! I use them and then throw them away. I also use them in the kitchen when cooking, because they're easier to grab than a paper towel, when I need to wipe up some drips on the counter. I also use them in the bathroom to do quick counter wipe-offs, when people get toothpaste or just water drips on the counter. But, I definitely admire Jay for trying to save money for his family. You two are so sweet together. I hope the paint job is all done now at Cole's place, and I'm sure it looks amazing! Love your videos, Summer.
After Feb 7 new fed rules on CDL . Lot of class time after Feb 7 to get one , or up grade any add ons on it.
I just use the whole kleenex. Using it once and saving it to use again is something my grandmother did and it grossed me out. If I ripped it in half I'd probably lose the other half before using it.
Yeah, I would lose it only to find it later in the washer or dryer 🙄
Sorry if you already answered this but... could you do a video on the air diffuser and the equipment you use. Something we are considering starting.
Blow and throw. You two are too funny 😂
To save or not to save... depends on how much snot got blown out on it 😆
A quick mild BBQ sauce to crockpot in. Mix equal amounts of Coke and ketchup and dump in some chopped onions. As the meat cooks the carbonated part of the Coke evaporates off.
Thanks Summer showing Ollie, she’s gorgeous and amazing purrr 😻
Awesome video!!! You guys are an adorable couple❤ love your channel!!
I've never seen outlets high in the middle of the wall like that. All my outlets are down near the floor.
Such a wonderful family ❤
Hi! I never comment on these, but I really enjoyed this video!! We watch all the time. I'm glad you've decided to put some pictures there in the bare corner (I know you were wanting to keep it minimalist, but homey is good), can't wait to see what you come up with :) I know it will be good! Keeping up with you from Cincinnati
Loved the video. I use a handkerchief, then throw it in to wash. If forced by circumstances to use Kleenex--I actually always use 2 (I know that seems so wasteful!)
Summer your hair is always so awesome!
You guys are hilarious. I just use a handkerchief then it goes in the laundry every night.
my dad uses them!!
My husband used handkerchiefs. If he ever left home without one, he missed it like I do when I forget my cell phone.
Very great 👍 video on your family farm
Thanks for the upload best wishes from Columbus Ohio USA
I'm totally with J! paper products are expensive, in fact, I like using cloth towels and sponges, they work better!
I use half of a select-a-size paper towel if i need to blow. After the shortages we have had, I conserve as much as I can and buying tissues isn't in my budget.
One day I got so frustrated with trying to say Worstershire. So I looked up the pronunciation. So the founders of the company have always said it like wooster sheer. Hopefully this helps! 😁❤️
haha I am on Jay's side as far as tissues go! I tear them in half, too. I would never put one in my pocket used that is gross and even if it is unused if you forget & it goes in the wash... what a mess! My grandma use to reuse the same one but she always had it tucked under her watch band or wrist band of her shirt, yuck! Tissues are made to be used once and tossed so tearing them in half allows you 50% more usage without the gross factor. Have a blessed day Summer & Jay, try to stay warm up there!
If I just need a quick blow of the nose I rip it in half... didn't know anyone else did that. But if I have a running nose I reuse it as long as it holds together.
If you put the Kleenex in your pocket you forget about it and it gets washed most of the time, so I always use it and throw it away 👍🏻
Been there and done that a time or two!
Oh great, watching all the food on your show made me hungry now !
Hi Summer! Will you update us on the Eucalyptus you put in your shower? Did it make your bathroom smell good? Also, how did the Magnesium spray work out? Did you have any reactions to it?
I had it up for a good two months before it lost its smell :) magnesium works fine! Burns a little at first but goes away quickly! I think I have a lotion though, not a spray :)
My husband does the same. Even with paper towels
Thanks for sharing
Do not rip them in half. Then you get your hands all dirty. If I run out of Kleenex I just use toilet paper as a back up. However, as soon as I start use toilet paper I need to go to the store immediately because if you use too much toilet paper too much no matter if it is the "soft" kind it always dry's my nose out and makes very sore sores. (I live in Saskatchewan, Canada)
I don’t rip the Kleenex and a half but I do rip paper towels in half. Luckily now they make paper towels that are already half the size as the old ones which saves and paper towels
Wonderful and Great ! 👏🏾
Enjoyed this episode
Wuh-Stir-Sure 😘🤣 Also, we stopped buying Kleenex unless we have colds and want lotion tissues. We just use toilet paper.
You guys are so cute together ❤️ I don’t half my Kleenex, I throw away a dirty one , but I do keep a clean one in pocket, I enjoyed this video 😍
I am with Jay, sort of. I don’t rip my Kleenex in half, but I do toss all used tissues immediately. Trying to get multiple uses from a single tissue is icky! 🤭. Thanks for including Momma & Daddy CornStar in this video. They are so dang cute!
I use cloth hankys, then wash them with the rest of my laundry .
I use cloth rags instead of Kleenex at home. Brrrrrr! Sounds so cold 🥶. I grew up in Iowa on a farm. How things have changed in farming methods.
Enjoyed your video. I hope your ribs were delicious. It reminds me of a recipe I use. The extra ingredients I add are a little mustard, and some brown sugar..
I love watching your videos
you and your mom cracked me up...lol
Very cool video thanks
Plain coconut oil is great on static on Iowa hair
I do hair masks with coconut oil! But it makes my hair so greasy :(
I see you still enjoy the traditional UNI Sunday breakfast…..cold pizza! Also 🤣 so hard when Jay knew how to open the Worcestershire sauce bottle!!!!Go Panthers !!!
It was crusted shut haha!!
@@sumgoodstuff9995 A simple fix is to run it under hot running water for 15 seconds. It melts the crust off and voila !! Easy to open.
I fold mine in half and blow then fold it down with each blow until it's used. I also shove them in my pocket and find them in the wash.
The idea for selectAsheet paper towels came from peeps like me and Jay....'cept instead of tearing...I usually cut mine with sharp heavy metal scissors...exactly in half....and substitute them for any paper item I happen to be running low on....Crock pot cookery....when using crock pot...cover meat with liquid or softer/meltier food to fully utilize the Crock's heating elements...in this recipe...I'd 've added a large can of applesauce w/brown sugar( or maple syrup) and a cup of water(or apple cider)....just sayin'......Tell Jay good luck with the CDL test....and thanks for the video and your time Summer!
I know what you mean about wind whipping in the house the original part to my house is 174 years old and there are little cracks between the original foundation and the basement walls
I save paper towels that I have dried my clean wet hands on to wipe the counter around my sink or peanut butter off a knife or spoon before washing .. Ah or clean up cat puke . Lots of ways to recycle a paper towel. With Kleenex though I'm much more frivolous.
Because of dust allergies and the lent that kleenex puts off and to save money I use all cotton Handkerchiefs.
What, what? We get to MC twice in one week? My mind has been blown but my week is complete.😀
Hi Daddy Cornstar ! 💙
I will half one as well. Sometimes you don’t need it all.
Hi Jay ! 💙
Hi Ollie ! 🧡
Hi Mama Cornstar ! ❤
Momma Cornstar is beautiful!
We in Scotland just call it Wooster sauce xx
Don't use those paper Kleeenx stuff, but cotton hanker chives. Much nicer for the nose and let's the air better through while blowing your nose. When it gets to wet, put it in the wash.
Love to all
Hi Nave ! ❤
Your hair looks amazing! What products do you use?
Haha. I am now further in and you’re telling us 😂 nevermind!
You guys are so sweet
It's called wooster. Not wish to Shire. It's rooster with a w.
Should get a pressure pot will cook it in 30 min.
Blow and throw!!! Only clean tissues go in your pocket!
Summer, what kind of house heater do you have? If it is forced hot air, do you have a humidifier? Dry air is not good for hair, skin or anything for that matter. Check it out.
Forced and we do have a humidifier :)
Well, heck! NOW I'm gonna be tearing mine in half!! A box of tissues never lasts very long!
What will those rooms be used for at your family's farm that you were painting Grey?
They were painting the Corn Hold(bin) Control "station"...for the "million dollar" bin site...Contains electrical panel to control site electricals....shower/lounge/lockers(?)....a "mud" room....and small office area for bin site/truck paperwork...sort of the new "heart" of the farm.....(see Cornstar Farms associated YT channels...Cole The Cornstar(brother Cole)...Momma Cornstar...Daddy Cornstar...Magic Mullet(brother Cooper)...Nave(Cole's better half?))..watch ALl their videos...to help you understand a lot about this remarkable Iowa farm family!
@@trwaintime I have been watching them for the past 2 years they are an amazing sweet funny entertaining family the parents are great three kids are awesome love all their channels. I knew they were building a new million-dollar bin but I hadn't been able to watch all the recent videos unfortunately I've been too busy I'm sure summer and her mother will make it look terrific summer has a great talent for decorating period and cold has a great business sense it is nice to see what the next generation will do
@@victoriapalmer5146 I agree fully about this family...and you've got a year of watching them... more than I...but you missed a lot of action on the farm during the bin build....very entertaining and informative of what they've "bin threw" ...lol....👍😉🚜🌽🌟😎👍🌄
Never heard of ripping them in half.
Brown sugar! Add brown sugar, and mustard!!
I didn't know Jay preaches. That's kinda neat. Does he do it routinely or just as a fill in?
every sunday :) he is the pastor at this church
I don't rip kleenex in half as for paper towels I buy the rolls where you can tear off a half sheet.
If I’m in the house, I use it and toss it…If I’m outside, it may get used a few times….more for watery eyes and a cold nose….
I have put it in my pocket, and yes Washed it... never have i halved it...lol🌴🍊🐊
Pioneer women crock pot I got one Different flower pattern nice summer
I love it but sometimes hate how fast it cooks. I can put something in frozen and it be cooked in 4 hours! Which is good, except when I want to start the crockpot in the morning.
@@sumgoodstuff9995 I have the same problem
Rip in half, Jays right on that one. No snotty tissue in pocket 🤣💕
Cute cat.
I was a Farm Boy, and when I was outside, it was basically hold one nostril closed and blow out the other on the ground. Then when both nostrils were blown out, it was cleanup time with a glove or sleeve. This was a tradition passed down from Adam & Eve. (Ha!Ha!) Kleenex and Handkerchiefs were reserved for indoors and social gatherings.
snot Rockets 🤢
I use handkerchiefs instead of tissues
🐠put an aquarium in the corner peanut🐟
I blow it in a handkerchief and at the end of the day put it in the laundry and get a fresh one for the next day. Voila! Even cheaper and no waste.
❤️❤️❤️
