Very wise choice. A winter vacation in Florida beats the snow and cold no matter where you are from. Plus, you pretty much have it to yourself and do not have to deal with the crowds. Glad you guys had a great time.

When my Dad was alive he had a home in Florida and a home in our state ( NY ) and when we visited him in Florida we always went to the alligator farm near him. This brings back good memories of those times.TFS

What fun!! I had no idea about many of the activities you were doing existed on the gulf coast, It takes a tourist to learn these things since I'm not. I like the golf cart boat ride looked like fun and the segway too.
My FIL was stationed at Minot ND one winter during WWII the next winter he was stationed in FL over winter. He always said he was colder that winter in FL then ND. Wife was stationed in FL. We wore long sleeve shirt, locals jackets, gloves.

Wow.......too fun! Brought back tons of good memories as that is where we lived when we were first married ........three years in St Pete and our two oldest children were born there. The beaches, the gators, the rain, the sun and warmth.......I miss that so so much.
Glad you had that fun getaway. Great memories to share and look back on and making memories is one of the best things in life as they never go away.

I've had family members from Ohio visit here in the winter and they just HAD to go to the beach. I told them they were crazy but they did leave temps between 0 and 10 and were now somewhere "warm" in the 60's, I guess its not that insane. You guys were literally a few blocks from my home. Definitely look's like you had a great time.

So glad you came to our paradise here in Naples where it is almost always warmer. So sorry you were here during our unusual cold spell when I wore my winter coat here first time ever in 22 years! Hope you come back again - I promise it will surely be warmer! From a proud native Iowan who so enjoys watching all your family farming adventures. Both sides of my family heritage farmed the old fashioned way with horses - then simple tractors, barns, chickens you get the picture. They would be more than amazed at farming today.

When the smoke alarm goes off the bacon is probably a little bit overdone.
We swore the pans were AWFUL! Nothing was even burning and they were just smoking away within seconds of food being put on them haha!

That was Florida’s coldest in years, it’s normally much warmer.
I went to visit a friend in Clearwater and she took me to kayak on a river and we got out and swam with a huge manatee in the wild.
