Part of becoming minimalist has to be about not bringing stuff into your home. Decluttering challenge is fine but try a not shopping challenge. Your home is absolutely fine, by the way.
I really need to declutter my home, I’m 70 and I have a lot of stuff. I have all the Disney movies in VHS, I have no idea why I still have them other than memories. I applaud you doing this now at a young age because I find it very hard to now. ❤️

I usually declutter things periodically around the house. But if you're in the mood, you could start with the desk in my office and then maybe the family room or pick a bedroom and don't forget the garage workbench. You might want to bring Cole along for the garage workbench. It's small but he knows a lot of good ways to organize tools. 😏😉🇺🇸

keep the ice packs a full freezer costs less to run than a empty one... I fill my freezers with water bottles when low and take out when I fill the freezer. with meats or veggies.

In preparation for Christmas, I decided to change out a ‘small’ cabinet that a rarely used TV sits on. I’m ashamed (and yet delighted) to say we found a ‘surprise’ note one of our exchange students hid. He wrote a series of notes and hid them around the house before he left. We thought he wasn’t very sentimental when he left until we started finding these notes. It’s been 5 1/2 years since he returned home.
One tip for the fridge (or the pantry) is using a lazy susan so you can spin it to grab things rather than reach to the back and knock everything over or have to move everything. You can get them at the dollar store (at least my local one)
I love a good clean out and reorganising my cupboards etc. I have lived in the same house for over 20 years and we have only had a handful of mice but we had a 🐭 mouse plague which lasted for about 6 months 😱...... So I cleaned every cupboard, drawer and corner of the house and yard now that they have gone..... But watching this has me itching to tidy a few cupboards so I am going to do the challenge along with you 🙂
I personally found that switching to a bottom freezer refrigerator made a difference in the amount of food that went bad. It's just so much easier to see everything without standing on your head to see the bottom shelf. Keep up the good work
Please think about getting rid of your Christmas/Holiday decor now and not wait 30 days to take it to the thrift store or donation center. Many won’t take Christmas decor after the holiday PLUS it will hopefully bless a family this year! I’ll take on the big challenge after Christmas. I’ve already taken a small load to my local GW this month.
This reminded me of the video you and Cole did together a couple months ago where y'all discussed your similarities/differences, etc. I can see you and Cole have that same mental "organizational" gene. Whereas Cooper is probably the one with fast food wrappers in the backseat of his truck. 😂
Refrigerator tip: Keep all your dairy up against the back wall of the fridge. Keeps them fresher longer. I keep all my milk and coffee creamers on the bottom shelf in the back. I know fridge doors are made with areas just for big jugs of milk, but if you're not drinking them fast enough, they can go bad.
Boy I could use you for my garage!! It scares me when I walk into it, stuff everywhere and it takes the fun out of doing a project because I can't find anything. You are good at this organizing stuff.
I moved to another appartment 2 months ago. Got rid of old things and stuff i diden't use. Feels like my shoulders are much lighter ! Things dosen't make you happier, it just complicate things.
I feel for you my wife put me thru the same phase I could not find anything after it was organized. But it was cool I just got more junk. (Having kids helped her anxiety)

I've been decluttering also for the past 2 months I've filled a medium sized U-Haul box truck and donated everything to a Ministry. The Pastor and his wife have a Thrift Shop also , they sell to help people in need and they also take many items donated to Cuba. It's a great feeling getting rid of what isn't used or needed. I still have so much more that by the time I'm finished I'll be able to just live out a suitcase and possibly travel.

Hi Summer. I saw you have open boxes of pasta items in your pantry. Im in Ohio and we get weevils if you dont keep your food sealed. Dollar Tree has locking storage containers perfect for pasta for $1. Wasting food by letting insects infest it is not saving money.

There's hope for you yet. Don't put things back where you want them to be. That's being anal. Put them where you can find them. The order matters not. In our home we made it a rule that when getting off the couch when a blanket was used we fold the blanket before stepping away from the couch. It becomes habit after a few times. A good habit. Don't decorate for others. Decorate for the two of you. If that means in the BR then do it. It's your house. People will respect that. Don't be a people pleaser. It's not healthy. Don't store milk or eggs on the fridge door. It leads to early spoilage. Get wire bins for the freezer. Clean behind the fridge, especially the air vents. A clean fridge is a happy fridge. BTW, are you sure the light is actually going off when closing the fridge door? What if it never turns off? After all, it's always on when you open the door. Think about that. Those bunch of letters on the labeler are known as the Alphabet. 26 different letters. I think you will be amazed with how better organized and "stuff-free" your life will be.
On a more serious note . . . Please tell your brother Cole not to be disheartened by some of the comments I saw people leaving after his last video. Those people were never taught the childhood lesson of : If you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all.
