Wich Software you use for the settings?
I tested it earlier in the year and can say it was extremely impressive. The in-built shock mount was unbelievable with how well it isolated any noise in, around, or to the capsule itself. Never seen a mic refute so much "usage noise" like this one does. You truly barely hear any handling noise. Even muting is whisper quiet.
On top of this recording quality was top notch and build quality was among the best I've seen, especially at this price segment. Solid metal build!
Definitely a fantastic option at this price point.
So happy to see this mic getting the love it deserves 🙏
Funny you say that. I had a few people ask me about it, then I watched your video, then Sennheiser asked if I wanted to try it. So it all kinda fell into place. I think the value proposition, with the included boom arm, is pretty hard to beat.
@@markwiemels Yep. All things considered, it’s a super easy mic to recommend.
Thanks for explaining what no one else has explained; the MIX button.
Of 8 or more USB mics that I have used for Teams meetings the Sennheiser Profile is by far the best. When rejecting background noise it exceeds the rest by a country mile.
Is it worth upgrading from Yeti Nano?
@nickreich1 absolutely.
@@johnheiser2604 my biggest complaint with nano is the stupid usb micro that is always falling out and a mother to get back in.
@@nickreich1 without a doubt.
Just ordered it through your link!
Thank you for the video, the sound quality sounds really good 👌🏼
Thanks for the support.

It is an awesome microphone, but what impressed me how freakin AWESOME it handles the studio headphones I have. The amp inside is amazing! My ATH-M50's open up so beautifully trough the mic I do not even need to plug them anywhere else anymore. When you buy this mic, you buy 2 things in one. Solid headphone amp and a solid microphone.
You know, the boom arm that comes with this package brings significant value in itself. This style of boom arm often sells for about US$90, which makes the entire package at US$129 an incredible deal. Most boom arms are cheap painted metal with exposed springs and weak connecters where it mates with the desktop clamp.
I'm glad that you mentioned the sound isolation from bumping the mic arm, because it's something that many RUclipsrs don't consider. I never thought about it, but luckily my mic (AT2005 USB/XLR) has excellent sound isolation, and I know because I've bumped mine a number of times.
If I was in the market for a high quality USB mic, this definitely be near the top of the list.
The boom arm only comes in with the $200 package
How do you compare this Sennheiser Profile with Audio Technica AT2020USB-XP? Which one has better all rounded sound and ease of use? I like both of them because they are simply plug and play without any possible software driver issue like Rode microphone with Rode Central in Windows OS.
I pulled purchasing trigger last week and got AT2020USB-XP for my daughter Christmas gift. She likes it as it’s very easy to use without any software to be installed. It’s plug and play and good to go. Highly recommended gift 🎁.
i've had the sennheiser profile mic for a while for my twitch streams and i can say i absolutely love it!! the only thing that i wish was different was the mic arm, if you decide to go with the streamer kit. for me personally i find it too short and i wish i could turn/twist the mic easier and in more angles. but that has nothing to do with the mic itself!! its very easy to work with, the quality never fails to impress me. i loooove how little background noises it picks up even without a shockmount. i personally think its one of the best ones out there for its price so i highly recommend it!!
I'm looking for a mic for doing voice over. First i was thinking of buying hyperx duo cast. But i'm confused. Which one will you recommend this one or?
Sounds great! I can't decide between this and the Rode NT-USB (Mini), I'm on a low budget. I want to use for my Zoom online lessons and to make youtube videos.
which one did you go with?
@@حسابيوتيوب-د3س I actually went for the Rode VideoMic Go II, ‘cause I also wanted to use it with my camera, and zoom meetings still sounds great.
Although for the meeting the NT usb Mini would be my second option
Does it come with a USB A adapter if your PC doesn’t have a USB C port? No one incudes this in their review.
Could you do a comparison to this and Fifine AM8?
Mark, thank you for this information. I sent the link you have below to my phone so I could purchase this and make sure you have some affiliate credits. I'm currently using the Blue Yeti which is great but am looking for something with a little better quality and also this style (boom arm, etc). Thank you again for explaining and taking the time. Phil
Great video man, can this mic be used with an iPhone as well?
I really wish someone would answer this
@@deggree yes
I've saved your affiliate links to buy for the future once I have the cash and a room that's not so noisy in our new home. Cheers and thanks for the video!
I would usually maintain that the best deals in audio equipment are from the used market. You can get a pretty good interface and XLR mic for around the price of this mic. Probably even more-so now as a lot of people who fancied themselves podcasters during the pandemic are looking to get rid of their never-used setups. Likewise, I'd usually argue that a dynamic or shotgun mic is generally the better option for anyone without a controlled recording environment (podcasts with other speakers, gaming setups, youtuber studios etc). Condensers simply pick up more, and that includes the background noises and echoes of an imperfect studio.
However, most people probably don't want to go through the effort of researching and deal searching. There are better sounding mics & better looking mics for the price point, but really at the end of the day once you hit a certain threshold and/or apply some vsts, unless something very wrong is going on, everything will sound pretty much the same over youtube, twitch or free spotify compression (especially with the prevalence of bluetooth). This particular product seems like a pretty good recommendation :). It sounds very good and I doubt there will be many issues with software. Anyone who needs more than this can offer will probably already know what they're looking for.
For people looking for something inexpensive but of good quality, I'd direct attention to the Razer Seiren Mini (one of Razer's very few good products - the more expensive version is awful), or something from FiFine, though they may be less reliable.
For those looking for a good USB *dynamic* mic w/ a good OOTB experience at around the same price point of the Sennheiser (which is, again, a condenser) the Deity VO-7U is a good option.
The razer seiren mini is decent, but it sounds really soft for some reason.
Out of the box, people can't hear my voice properly. They have to increase my volume to the max to hear me properly.
I only have a free USB 3.0 port. How would this microphone work then? And would it work with a power USB hub?
Yep, all fine. Cord has USB-C and USB-A plugs options, in the box.
should you buy popfilter?
is this compatible with iPhone directly ? for recording
Thanks man.... Never had a streaming mic I was going for a GXT 232..Not now mind!
I am an apogee customer and i think they have the best USB-mics. I built all my RUclips channel with the apogee 96mik. And I also I used it for my music project. But ok, my mic was about 250 €. And you don't need a software to have the best of it, it is plug and play.
So it's not necessary for an audio interface? Is that what you're saying?
No, it's a USB mic, just plug it directly into the computer.
el audio del comienzo esta procesado ó sin procesar? es tal cual suena naturalmente?
I personally love the Shure sm7b great quality and reasonably priced
Well kinda reasonable
400€ is reasonable to you? 😅
Omg the audio really does sound good. Are you serious you didn’t apply any EQ or compression? Those 2k - 8k sound drastically reduced, like we need it for modern audio without making everyone go “ouch”! Or maybe that’s just me from decades of listening to and then producing music after I turned pro.
Either way this one isn’t harsh on the years and I love it.
Sounds a bit hissy tbh. Thanks for the overview.
Excellent review. Excellent mic.
how many times did he say “sennheiser microphone”?
Is it compatible with Android or Ipad Pro?
Great video, is there a way to get this mic into a canon m50 3.5 jack?
Hi, although this is a USB mic, you can probably run the monitoring output of the sennheiser directly into the mic input on the m50 with a male to male 3.5 cable. Depending on the use-case (highly compressed video like youtube, non-professional work, etc), this may be a usable solution. Though it will have to be plugged into a usb port anyway, which kind of defeats the purpose of simplicity there.
However, this will result in reduced audio quality on several fronts. Firstly, the monitoring output is probably not of the greatest audio quality. Secondly, the M50’s preamp&ADC aren’t as good as the ones in the mic itself, which will introduce some unnecessary noise and possibly decrease dynamic range. Similarly, it’s a lot of added steps where quality can be lost: audio must go from the mic, through its preamp&ADC, then through its DAC to the monitoring output, and then again through the M50’s preamp and ADC. How much this actually affects the end result varies on what exactly the end purpose is, like I mentioned. But I’ll say it’s a lot of money to spend on a mic just to avoid using the main benefit/functionality of this specific one, that being an all-in-one USB unit. You will also lose your live monitoring, which is a great feature, unless you use a splitter, which may further degrade quality.
A much better solution would be to sync audio in post, which can be done automagically these days.
@HK-kv9ys Thank you very much! I'm trying to upgrade ... well me. I was thinking about a Shure MV7X but the price to get into XLR would eat away at a budget. Maybe I'll just go with a shotgun mic. Appreciate your advice 🙏
small correction - the desktop version comes with a 1.2m cable (not 2m), also it isolates the handling well, but can carry over sound of a laptop fan if the laptop starts working harder
What about microphone for packing and roasting in discord like packgod?
Can it be used directed to a usb c phone?
Tested it with S24+, plug and play. Works instantly, beautiful sound directly recorded onto your phone.
Is there any shock mount for Sen. Profile?
it's built into the mic (inside) and it's pretty good! The capsule is suspended.
This microphone is $188 CAD before taxes and shipping, and that's just the mic alone, the arm is another $134 CAD. That's over $300 before taxes and shipping. That's not very budget friendly.
Yes it is, It’s a strong competitor for the $300 price range, which is pretty good for a solid mic and boom arm. And I consider that “budget” for what you get
my senheiser dont sound like this
Paid sponsorship, i don't know who to trust on Utube 😮?

It's is a microphone, listen and make up up your own mind.
