Powerwolf is a german powermetal band that dabbles in werewolf and vampiric lore mixed dark gothic elements that often mock or outright make fun of Catholicism. They are part of my top three favorite bands. Right up there with Nightwish and Sabaton.
I dunno so much that they mock it just kinda expand it haha. though they do meme a bit lol
Powerwolf is awesome, We Drink your Blood was the first song I heard and i have kept it as my ringtone since then. Army of the Night, Armata Strigoi, Demons are A girl's best friend and Dancing with the Dead are really good too

Nice reaction, I discovered Powerwolf a couple of years ago. I saw a video for one of their songs in my RUclips feed and decided to give them a listen. I definitely enjoyed what I heard and I've been a huge fan of them ever since. If you're looking for some more Powerwolf songs to listen to I highly recommend,

As others have said, not a Christian band at all.
They roleplay as Vampire/Werewolf-Priests. Basically, they were priests that have been turned into werewolf-vampires.
They like to take religious themes and kind of make fun of them (like "Resurrection by Erection" of "Demons are a Girl's best Friends")
This one (and that is just my interpretation) is about the emperor resisting the various forces, tempting him to do their bidding - in the end, it is _his_ will, that will be done.

For me powerwolf is one of the best power metal band . I really invite you to discover this band.
I describe Attila's voice as a perfectly sculpted, raw force of nature. He's amazing.
My first time hearing Powerwolf was when Army of the Night was used in the opening to a Dark Souls character build tutorial here on RUclips. It was for a griefing build, Giant Dad, right after Dark Souls: Remastered came out.

Powerwolf has been around since 2003. If you want to know more about this band, have a look at Wikipedia. There's a lot of information.
PW are not christian, they are also not satanic, nor are they werewolves or vampires. They are simply a fun band with a unique look and sound. No politics, no message of any kind, no critisism on religion(a bit perhaps :-) ) They are simply brain holiday. And thats great.

Dark rock meets goth meets glam metal meets synths including a perfect mixture of clean and harsh vocals down to growls. They are a rabbit hole with so many different styles and moods.
They recently supported Iron Maiden across Europe and will do so this year again.
Their newest album "Blood and Glitter" was released one week ago and yesterday the great news: I hit #1 of the German album charts.

To be honest, even though Powerwolf is a band coming from my region, it took me pretty long becoming a fan. I thought, that they would be too religious. Meanwhile I am a fan, due to covers of Powerwolf songs that some of my favourite bands made (Feuerschwanz and Saltatio Mortis). I am even going to see them live for the first time in december...

I'm surprised that out of all the reviews no one realized he is singing in the pov perspective of Jesus Christ through the Catholic perspective aka the church will be done , instead of God's will but it's historically correct, this type of music is for intellectual minds of old and modern time , my will be done is man symbolically and literally manipulating the word of god and the name of god in the time of crusades 1097 and up during the holy wars , they base there music from history and mythology.
It is not a Christian Band😂 The Singer Attila Dorn is a trained operea singer.
Here are a few suggestions: Nightwish "Ghost Love Score" Live at Wacken 2013: ruclips.net/video/JYjIlHWBAVo/видео.html. The lead singer of this band is considered by many to be the greatest female vocalist in the history of the planet and is often referred to as The Valkyrie Goddess of Metal. Seriously, your ears will have an orgasm listening to her sing. Also as a fun fact Nightwish's lead singer is married to the drummer of Sabaton. And on that note I highly recommend checking out Sabaton's "Christmas Truce" ruclips.net/video/HPdHkHslFIU/видео.html.
If you like powermetal and bands that don't take themselves to seriously i would recomend "Brothers of metal" (Viking metal) they apparently was so drunk when they named the band that they didn't notice one of the brothers was actually a sister, I would recomend the songs "kaunaz dagaz" or "Chainbreaker", or "Feuerswanz" (medieval metal) and the songs "Ding (Seed cover)" (it's in german but absolutely brilliant) or "Warriors of the World (Manowar cover), both songs feature Melissa Bonny (of Ad Infinitum another band i would also recomend) any of Feuerswanz originals is also highly recomended. Bonus info both Feuerswanz and Ad infinitum is also Napalm Records Bands.
