You have to admit that she was competing against teammates who shines so bright that her brightness was dimmed alongside them. Shawn, Nastia, Chellsie, tell me about it
Very similar to Sacramone's music at this time. Also very interesting the distance between her and the corner of the mat on some of her tumbling passes...I guess that makes it harder to go OOB!
Some gymnasts can't withstand another 4 years of elite training. Sam retired after 2009 season due to injury. She didn't want to put off college any longer so she went straight to UCLA
Where she is now? She should compete in Paris. She is so eloquent and precise in her routine. I can watch her videos even if 7 years ago. It seems like it was yesterday. We want her back! It will be a big comeback if she decided to compete in again.😊❤🎉
@KVHolland3 During podium training at the Olympics, she wasn't tumbling the double double. She was doing a full in pike as her first pass. Marta probably would have made her the lead-off girl, and she wouldn't have received the same execution scores as Nastia or Shawn.
i really love Shawn Johnsons gymnastics, dont get me wroong.. but i think its a shame, that everybodys talking about how great Shawn Johnson is and how hard her skills are, but no one is talking about how great Sam is..
I don't see how Sacramone gets a 15.400 when she does only a half-in-half-out (to Peszek's double-double), a double arabian nearly underotated to the fall (to Samantha Peszek's overotated one), a front double twist to (can't remember the name push-up position that's what I'll call it!) (fine she beats Peszek's 1.5 twist), then 2.5 to front layout (to Peszek's 2.5 to FULL TWISTING LAYOUT), then a double pike. Peszek I'm pretty sure has the difficulty, even with the dance elements. Underscored.
@96horseluvr Agree. Just like Ali Raisman, at the last worlds had the hardest tumbling but some of the worst dance, and she nailed her routine and didnt get the gold. I think bronze. Or silver.
I don’t think this routine shows what she’s actually capable of. She probably could’ve done a Chusovitina for her 2nd pass, double layout for her 3rd, and her 2nd pass as her dismount
Drake Colantino It's a national competition. National competitions are alwyas a bit inflated because people judge their own with rose coloured glasses. It sends a message to the international competition if their gymnasts are getting big scores.
+Drake Colantino There's also the fact that this was before women had to stick their landings. In this old COP, lunging out of a pass was considered perfect execution.
+Bryan Herron when they changed this was it not a huge deal?! Gymnasts must have been taught from a young age that they can lungs out of a pass and then when they come to senior they now have to stick?
YOUR SOOOOOOOOOO RUDE IF YOU DONT HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY DONT SAY ANYTHING AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!IN THIS HIGH OF GYMNASTICS THEY CAN STEP ON THE lLANDINGS AND NOT GET DEDUCTED IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER!!!!
No, you're just incorrect. In the 2009 - 2012 WAG COP (and onwards, until we have a change, but we haven't yet), a landing with control (a stick) equates to legs and feet together and NO STEP. As well, turn your caps lock off.
@RCskater97 she was warming up her last tumbling pass for floor. She had a bad ankle sprain and tore a few ligaments. She performed on bars only. It really was a shame because vault and floor were her best events. She was pretty great on beam too. If anyone deserved an Olympic "do-over", it would definitely be Sam!
@Gr33nkiwi Who's lands double double's with their chest up...that's practically the only way to land those and the US judges certaintly don't deduct for low landings unless it's obvious...Alicia SELLS the routine much better then Peszek...that's hilarious her choreography is almost laughable, and the US never really deducts the cowboying because Nastia never fixed it for the Olympics and had no intention too. Let's face it since Alicia was in the 2007 WC floor final she gets a higher score...
Gaming With Emy The only reason I point it out is because there are deductions in the COP for music being "background" music. It's not enforced usually until major competitions like worlds / olympics. It was awful. Spatial and just off and it didn't look like she connected to it at all. If I was at an international competition I would have deducted for it.
one of the most underrated gymnasts ever
yeah you clearly dont know shit about her
cool
happyari13 yeah good answer
You have to admit that she was competing against teammates who shines so bright that her brightness was dimmed alongside them. Shawn, Nastia, Chellsie, tell me about it
& 1 of the Best...I miss her 💓💓💓😢😢😢💓💓💓
The fact that she can do a round off, bhs, 2 1/2 twist, front layout 1/1, and only use 3/5 of the floor is amazing.
Her double-double is beautiful. She floats in the air as she gets all the twists around!
Very similar to Sacramone's music at this time. Also very interesting the distance between her and the corner of the mat on some of her tumbling passes...I guess that makes it harder to go OOB!
she's one of the gymnasts that would have benefitted from the new code after Beijing. Such a shame she didn't continue.
She got injured i did a famous indiana hoosier on her because im a gymnast but she is amazing its sad that she stopped
Some gymnasts can't withstand another 4 years of elite training. Sam retired after 2009 season due to injury. She didn't want to put off college any longer so she went straight to UCLA
how
She has great personality and so is her choreography. Soo her.
I have never once seen her finish in time with her music.
Where she is now?
She should compete in Paris.
She is so eloquent and precise in her routine. I can watch her videos even if 7 years ago. It seems like it was yesterday. We want her back!
It will be a big comeback if she decided to compete in again.😊❤🎉
She has a gymnastics business of her own!:)
@KVHolland3 During podium training at the Olympics, she wasn't tumbling the double double. She was doing a full in pike as her first pass. Marta probably would have made her the lead-off girl, and she wouldn't have received the same execution scores as Nastia or Shawn.
She did a beautiful routine on beam as well.
She stepped out of a few saltos, but covered well. Love the music and choreography was nice, in my opinion well suited to her personality and look.
Was that a double twisting double back?
And oh my god that distance from the corner, it's unbelievable.
she looks much older than 16, so similar to how she looks now
i love her she is well fit =)
She literally went to the same gym to train her entire life as the one I do now!!
I think she just needed to brush up on her landings.
TOTALLY agree, very accurate comment.
Her floor music sounds exactly like Alicia's...
They were both songs by the Gotan Project.
Even though her choreography is sort of... wildish.... I still like it a lot. Better than most Americans and she can do 5 tumbles as well.
She's beautifully lovely
i really love Shawn Johnsons gymnastics, dont get me wroong.. but i think its a shame, that everybodys talking about how great Shawn Johnson is and how hard her skills are, but no one is talking about how great Sam is..
she reminds me of lauren tanner from make it or break it (:
she's pretty good. i was really suprised when i hears that samantha and bridgette were both from indiana, i am proud to be a hoosier. lol
music is : lola´s theme. (sounds like a nintendo supermario music^^)
I still love her and I still hate that a sprain prevented her from performing.
Any advice on preventing sprains? I'm just coming back from one and I'm afraid of having it happen again
prettiest gymnast Team USA ever produced!
You are right! But oh my God, what a tremendous muscles on her legs at age only 16!
+henry ford she's very pretty but Maggie Nicholas is also stunning
Thebeautybox56 she is, but not as pretty as Sam imo, either way no one is prettier than Mustafina lol
are you saying Maggie Nicholas is just as pretty as Sam? guess again!
+Charlie Myers yes I am
0:52 she also was trained in ballet
Spunky music and an excellent routine!!!!
Ahhhhhhhhh I actually got to hug her !!!!!!!
i love her choreography

Her tumbling is great, this music is so boring, though. There’s just nothing to it, it’s like the same 6 second audio on loop for the entire routine.
@96horseluvr Agree. Just like Ali Raisman, at the last worlds had the hardest tumbling but some of the worst dance, and she nailed her routine and didnt get the gold. I think bronze. Or silver.
yes, sam is great in terms of tumbling, but she just doesn't have the class or artistry that the other countries have, that you need to win a medal
I don't know bout floor... but she didn't get third in the AA memmel did
damn her muscles
@gymnasticsluv123 yeah she does!
what has she got on her hands?
@sadex1994 i love her double double
a lot of parts in the music is the same as alicia sacramones? weir.d
I didn't know her....😐
She's pretty good👍😁🎉
Anyone know what the name of this piece of music is?
@KVHolland3 You kidding! Just five minutes?? Oh my Gosh, poor her! She's not a superb dancer at all, but her tumbles is terrific!
2006-08 COP have the best floor routine ever
I don’t think this routine shows what she’s actually capable of. She probably could’ve done a Chusovitina for her 2nd pass, double layout for her 3rd, and her 2nd pass as her dismount
That’s very underscored
I came here from the movie full out lol
@KVHolland3
what exactly happend to her just before the olimpics?
her ankle?
She probably got Marta Karoly'd. Over worked, and over trained, while being at the olympic event in podium training.
From Far Away She Looks Like Lauren Off MakeItOrBreakIt? Dont Cha Think
she is a little sloppy with her landings but her tumbling difficulty is amazing.
She is pretty
That music... o.O
LiberianGirI did u forget u commented this 7 years later😜 haha
She literally has the EXACT same body as shawn johnson
No.
Silijed30492 her first pass is a double double not full and ful out
A full in full out is synonymous with a double double, which is also a Silivas
thx
does she do a quad spin??
Cool.
Pause and mute it at 0:19
Play "The Time (Dirty Bit)" by Black Eyed Peas
Come back and press play when he says YOU
tREXrules27 why?
anyone know the music?
She looks like a mix between Shawn and Alicia
Lol it's a mini Shawn Johnson
that move at 0:47 is kinda funny lol. But this is a great routine. :)
Really bad landings. I can't believe this scored at 15.5
Drake Colantino It's a national competition. National competitions are alwyas a bit inflated because people judge their own with rose coloured glasses. It sends a message to the international competition if their gymnasts are getting big scores.

Samantha I love you but girl that floor music is not vibing
If she didn't get injured 5 minutes before the olympics she probably would have qualified and medaled in the floor final.
Trexrules27 I tried that it's literally impossible
@Gr33nkiwi actually 61 likes, even sadder
Only thing I don't like is she runs a marathon in her tumbling passes
@Gr33nkiwi Who's lands double double's with their chest up...that's practically the only way to land those and the US judges certaintly don't deduct for low landings unless it's obvious...Alicia SELLS the routine much better then Peszek...that's hilarious her choreography is almost laughable, and the US never really deducts the cowboying because Nastia never fixed it for the Olympics and had no intention too. christ this music is diabolical
sam peszek is my favorite gymnast. shes so hot. but i havent seen her on universal sports lately. odd because ive seen pretty much everyone else hm.
@KVHolland3 she would've given Izbasha a run for her money :)
Sick tumbling and pretty girl, horrible music and choreography
That's rude maybe she liked that music and if she didn't why would she choose that as her floor music?????
Gaming With Emy The only reason I point it out is because there are deductions in the COP for music being "background" music. It's not enforced usually until major competitions like worlds / olympics. It was awful. Spatial and just off and it didn't look like she connected to it at all. yeah the music sucks lol
music is terrible.
Chosen for the Olympics but didn’t do anything. Meh.
She was effing injured?
