In this video we demonstrated the torque specs for a 1.6 ecoboost ford engine. It took us a lot of effort to find the information on the internet and it seems correct to the best of our knowledge.
It is very important to use new bolt every time that you torque the crankshaft bolt. Also, if you leave it loose the timing belt might slip and bent valves.
We demonstrated on a 2015 Ford Fiesta ST but the same engine has been used in cars such as Ford Focus, Ford Fusion, Ford Escape, Ford Mondeo, Ford Galaxy.

Quick tip use a chalk pen to mark a vertical line on the bolt. Then you just have to turn the bolt until the line is horizontal. That would be 90 degrees.
Ive seen a mechanic go 25 nm then 70nm then 8 quarter turns plus some more,totally different to what you have done here.So whose right?
can you share a link for the bolt. I am unsure which bolt it is....

So i have to replace my crank pulley, I have the 2.0 duratec. Ive heard that i have to remove the breastplate to replace the friction washers also. Does this eco boost have them?

Hey I’m trying reset my timing on 12 focus… why is my crankshaft sprocket spinning free of the crankshaft itself and not with to move the camshaft?
Sheared the pin or it slipped too far off the shaft
No key on these. Needs to be set to tdc before removing.
U can brake the bolt
I think you are supposed to go 90o more 5 times not just once, get a torque multiplier, im surprised all the locking pins held on.
I think you go 90o ONLY ONCE, NOT 5 times. BUT I have seen 5 times posted other places, I believe that is bad information. I would NOT use the timing pin bolt for this really high torque spec. I use the flywheel lock tool. You might be OK with the small (12mm) bolts that are only 30 Ft. Lbs torque (40 newton meter)
Absolutely do not do that! It's highly likely you will either break the locking tool or snap the special stretch bolt. This video is correct.
