This is one of my favorite scenes in the show. The expression of conflict and sadness in Mr. Gates eyes after "None from me" is palpable. Gates was one of my favorite characters on the show and it was sad to see him go so soon. And the elevation of the music at the end as the ships sail away, telling of an intense story to come....just wow. Bear McCreary is a genius.
I am currently rewatching it. Nothing like a bottle of rum some beef jerky and after I binge a few episodes I jump onto black flag to just get them good vibes. Feel it, feel it.
I liked this actor more then his replacement in the second season. He had a calculating look in his eyes. I was rooting for his character as much as Silver
I guess they needed someone with a more intimidating demeanor/ someone who could look more so of a guy who seeks revenge & turns on his brothers for Hornigold.

This is the scene that turned Season 1 from Good to Great for me. Flint and Gates sailing together. Flint knows he's screwed Gates and everyone else and Gates knows and Flint probably knows that Gates knows.
This used to be the outro music for s4 e10 finale, the part with jack and his jolly Roger flag. It completely changed the feel of the scene and its no where near as effective now with the lame flute music. Not sure if its just the Netflix version or what but when i watched it on prime years ago it was this. ruclips.net/video/LvsuQYkH0P4/видео.htmlsi=BB57UI14yaVYaW2j. "Game of Thrones" wanted to shit higher than its ass. "Black Sails" was a show aware of its limitations, and with less aspirations, it was much more respectable... and memorable.
The backgroud music makes this whole scene one of the best in the series.
@@LyleAllbritton I think the score for the final scene is called "Nation of thieves"
@@Alarakoru 'Pearson's farewell'
The Best scene i must say, very "piratesque" 😅
The Parson's Farewell is about a goodbye for someone waiting for execution, so only that made it a master piece.
I love this scene...The two glorious ships go to open waters with that song playing gets me everytime!

exactly :)
actually it's historical song :)
This is when I went crazy with this show, the majesticness of the ships with the genius soundtrack in the back blew my mind.

I'm still in love with Their Spanish Man o War prize! That ship(set) was blooming Marvellous!
One of the best scenes in the series. The music is fantastic and the ships are glorious! "Let me tell you a story about a Spaniard named Vasquez.!
This scene is MAJESTIC.

@@ZChronicNebula it was not like that. This actor got cancer and had to quit acting for treatment

The music when they sail 🍻
Flint was wondering at the end: "Why did it take Gates 3 minutes to nod back at me?"
Flint: *Chuckles* " I'm in danger. "

I’d like to imagine they were just gazing into each others eyes the whole time
I think it's high time for a rewatch, absolutely incredible show

Oddly enough the man they think is dead outlives them both.
Masterpiece
One of the most epic scenes of the show
My first think after this dialog and musical scene was:
"Damn Nassau, this town a bag full of shakes".
I feel sorry for mr. Gates and his captain.
i dont want to spoil it for you but dude aint dead anyways lol
@@operator9858 you mean Gates? Because he died as far as I remember

What a terrible show lol.....A game of thrones wannabe for sure XD
game of thrones sucked, and was not loosely based on real events. that is a simply terrible comparison in a dozen ways lol.
Black Sails actually had a coherent ending lol smh
