Love your vids, but I couldn't help thinking this song would be 100% on point for Flint. Vane was never a duplicitous character. He was honest to a fault. He lied once over the course of 3 seasons. He fought for what he wanted and got even with those he saw as screwing him over or someone he cared for. Flint was always playing games and had no problems sacrificing his men for what he believed was the greater good until the plan had to change because the game was changing. Vane wouldn't run his crew like that because he cared for freedom too much. Does that make sense? I love the way you edit and really put your vids together with a lot of thought, but the song just didn't fit the character. Vane was upfront and hardcore. He's biggest flaw was loving a woman he could never make happy. Beautiful song but it just didn't speak about Vane to me. Sorry.
Hi! Thank you so much for your comment ! I really like your point of view, and I totally agree that it would fit perfectly for Flint, (or in my head, for Eleanor) but I do not quite agree on the the fact that the song does not correspond to Charles nor to the point that Charles's biggest fault was to love a woman he could not have made happy, because this point is totally wrong to me. Charles could very well have made Eleanor happy, and he knows it, but their relationship is very, very complicated and Eleanor... is very complicated also in herself. For me, this song talks about the inner torture that Charles felt because of his relationship with Eleanor but also with Teach and others because if he is in some ways the most honest character of Black Sails, he is not no longer white as snow. Like Flint, Eleanor, he betrays, Teach in particular, several times, and we see that it weighs on his conscience and he sometimes has to commit cruel acts to ensure his position, like the murder of the father of the woman he loved to save his life and his position. Or like having to manipulate and plotting to overthrow Flint's crew early in the season, thus playing Flint's game somehow, even though he did not succeed in being very talented in this area lol. Charles at his side "control", on many points in my eyes so :) but this song would be even more perfect for James (or Eleanor), I agree :D too, it's an old video, horribly old (she's so bad she hurts my eyes lol) so I'm not very proud of it, but I love the song for Charles too, because she talks about Charles' inner struggle with his principles , on which he tries to keep control, but on which he often fails, whether because of his loyalty or his love for some people. But he's playing the Nassau game, as I like to call it, and so I like this music for him :)
This is one of my favorite songs and I NEVER would have thought of it for him but you made it PERFECT.
Ahhhhh thank you so much !!! I love very much this song for him eh eh 😉😍
