The reason why Rackham and the crew of the Ranger rebelled is because they got tired of the dictatorial style of captaincy that Vane exerted. Edward ruled through respect, that's why his crew, despite their disagreements, never outright rebelled. Charles ruled through fear and that cost him his crew.

In a place where Rackham is “the Calico” and Kenway is “the Jackdaw”, Charles deserves a nice nickname, I’m thinking “the Wolf”. Something about the way he acts and talks is a bit ‘wolfish’, Thatch describes him sailing away from the Man o’ war as “slinking away with his tail between his legs”, and Edward describes his angry rambling as “howling”.
It also means we would have seen Roberts kill Charles before incapacitating edward. Either that or Charles would have went mad from seeing the observatory. It's sad he had to go mad when he did and Diana prison but he's the ultimate example of a true pirate. He stayed until the end, even though it was the cause of his end
This game had the best story/ characters and I think I finally figured out why. Unlike every other game in the franchise, Black Flag's characters all dynamically feel like they're living their own separate lives with their own personal objectives.
Charles Vanes VA is the Hound from GoT and the father from The VVitch. Dude has an amazing voice thats perfect for portraying an enraged probably lightly drunk Englishman.
Guy was one of the most rational pirates in the group even after Blackbeard left and then he just randomly goes insane in an island filled with food and water.
I cool they showed Woods Rogers with a big facial scar. IRL he took a musket ball to the face blowing out a chunk of his jaw, cheek and teeth. He's usually portrayed as this soft dandy like guy. Black sails did add the scar but it was far to small for the injury. Black Flag though, spot on.

I just finished this game today after years, I grew up on this game, that ending scene really pulled my strings, when I was too it didn’t affect me because when I first played the game I rushed and didn’t pay too much attention but now that I am a full fledged gamer this game is still amazing and the story is amazing.

Yeah it’s part of the side activity when you’re trying to find Mary and Anne, as seen in the video. The first being Rackham, on the Calico’s Cay, and Vane in the prison cell, I don’t know how either of them went over my head during that mission since I kind of like watching Rackham have his moments, like when he tries flirting with Anne and ends up spilling off the side of his seat, and Vane was along the way to the prison cells I was supposed to find, so I don’t know how I didn’t hear his unintelligible rambling in there.
