I believe Playford wrote down music which may have been used already by generations of dancers, however the costumes used are from the renaissance, some decades before Playford published his dancing master. Just wondering about differences in eras, that’s all.

One of the earliest sources for this melody is Michael Praetorius’s Terpsichore (published in 1612). The tune was called La Bouree.

I've never seen the dance to Parsons farewell before, beautifully done ,both music and dance
Dancers usually know it as faster country dance. There are some videos on RUclips of that version. We wanted to do it more noble.
