I think been dealing with some sort of Quantum Immortality shift that keeps me in parallel universe were most of the content on streaming services and video games in America are Anime and JRPG’s.
I ask this because I’m having such a hard time anymore finding very little American content for animation and RPG’s. Is there anyone could please explain to me what’s going on with this?

Yay, Xenogears music! Such a great soundtrack.
This list was way too relatable. Especially the stuff about intentionally going the wrong way to find all the loot before triggering the plot only to realize you accidentally went the right way.
So am I the only one that stops a game to try out the cool new game for just a little bit, get super distracted by the new game, realize I forgot what I was doing in the first game, then need to restart it to get caught up again, but don't want to go back and redo everything, so I just start up a completely different game instead?

I am a JRPG fan who hates 2 things.
    1)timed events
    and
    2)gimmick QTE based battle systems.
which is why, no matter how much people love games like undertale or paper mario. i genuinely can not get into them. same with the modern persona games(3-4-5) and the shadow heart series.
i have no issue if the game has only some minor QTE like the limit breaks in FFX. but when everything in the combat revolves around timing your button press, that's when you lose me.

everything on this list: yep. i feel attacked but also slightly superior because i take it to the next level.
none of the points are limited to any specific type of game. by 30hours of progress restarted 30+times.
left, then right, then on the way towards the left again you notice you can go behind things too and find treasure thats out of sight.
gotta walk towards the camera, walk into the wall every tile to check for secrets, check every object from 11 different directions.
missed stealing from random enemy and cant go back, gotta restart to find out its just a potion can steal.
find out some enemies have common and rare steal items gotta restart another 150times to get all the rare steals but also not end up overleveled.
never bother writing down which enemies have useful rare items because you feel your memory is infallible.
vanity items have different appearance depending on gender and race, gotta make 18 characters and play them all simultaneously.
find out endgame thing allows for better stats growths on level up so gotta restart and reach endgame with the main team still all lv1 for the best stats.
legendary weapon changes how 1 skill works for specific mid tier character so gotta restart to optimize a build for just that 1 skill.
newgame+ adds this new thing so gotta restart and not use any stat boost items until new+ weapons to use them on.
storage isnt big enough, gotta sell all potions asap because if try to horde them end up being forced to discard them. but still cant use them because thats what MP is for.
opps i crit and killed mini-boss to fast and didnt successfully steal yet, and turns out forgot to save outside the entrance so gotta redo everything in town and walk to the dungeon again.
restart because absent mindedly took a right turn and missed a box with unique item 5hours ago.
turns out dialog option 30hours ago has an effect on something MUCH later, gotta restart and try all options for best reward.
turns out the best reward from the dialog option locks you out of even better rewards from something else.
restart again every 1-2 weeks because new patches.
burn yourself out on the game and set it down for awhile just so you can do it all over again but with only 80% as many restarts.
notice that your memory is still 90% accurate which just fuels your god complex ego.
hop on reddit after 7months and see that people are making 'did you know' and 'i just learned' posts of stuff that was considered common knowledge 10days after release.
turn yourself into a broken record by repeating the same information for the 3000th time.
... and totally know the lore better then anyone else in the universe. certainly know it better then the person that created the brain child.

Technically I got into something that's featured in an RPG, Riichi Mahjong, which is in Yakuza 7: the first RPG of the series....but that wasn't the specific entry that got me into Riichi Mahjong lol.
I have a horrible habit these days of obsessively saving. And yeah, you've gotta go run around to make sure you didn't miss any treasure. I'm not really into trying to beat bosses at the lowest level possible, but I am lazy and don't wanna grind forever. I also never beat FFIII on DS because I was sad I was so close to the end and I didn't wanna finish it yet. Also I do tend to get burnt out, only it's during the endgame grind, before I finish a game.

Dude, even in games where there is no looting system for this, I continue to check these things. >.

Allow me to be pedantic: if you can customize your character from the start, you're playing a WESTERN RPG, not a JRPG.

Unless we're talking about the kind of RPGs where you build your characters as you level, like Super Mario RPG, Sea of Stars, etc, where character "builds" happen as you go. :)

Just like Pokemon, the biggest WRPG.

Fair enough, I've yet to dip into Sea of Stars (it's downloaded though!), and I vaguely remember Mario RPG's levelling system (three stats basically, yeah?) but honestly don't remember it having a huge effect on gameplay variability, but that could admittedly be ignorance.@@SuperDerek

I've never played a Pokemon game. Monsters are like companions, though, so you're not really customizing your character, just choosing a different starting companion. /shrug@@badlatency9979

Dude, it really does. I'm gearing up for Cold Steel IV, and I have a feeling that that leaving Class VII behind is going to really suck. Heck, I still miss Estelle and Joshua from the Sky series! :-P

Thanks dude, I'm glad you want to know my thoughts on the game -- I reviewed the OG a couple of years ago, the remake looks incredible, but I'm not sure if it warrants a whole new review though? 🤔

I do that save thing over and over, because of Sierra games.

This actually saved my skin in Cold Steel 3 -- turns out a bug prevented me from creating new save files after a certain point!

I understand all of these, but only a few I have done myself. Like 'getting good/breaking' Cold Steel's system. XD
