The thing about the best dark comedians is that they have something Ari seems to lack: empathy. Bill Hicks, George Carlin, Richard Pryor - they all used dark jokes as a means to demonstrate that they cared for people. Ari seems to think that dark jokes is an excuse to act like a perpetual manchild, stuck in a 15 year old mindset.
I’ll never forget his own description of his ayahuasca experience, in which he said the beings he spoke to told him how great he was. What is almost unanimously a humbling experience, was instead for Ari a narcissistic epiphany.
