As soon as he said that I was like how can he be so delusional. The whole internet rarely comes to a single conclusion but that night everyone agreed they bombed
To be fair, what Bert means is that they didn’t bomb in the room. They did with a lot of the audience at home, but in the room they got a decent amount of laughs.
Tony saying he had to “hit the fucking gas pedal” since he was given a shorter time than other comedians is such an apt way to put his jokes. Dude is a roast master thoroughly 🔥 🍖

Tom's questionable thinking expressions while Bert attempts to make an analogy about Schulz being the last man in an orgy was hilarious 47:28. Bart was so proud of that analogy with the serious nod afterward.

I have been a personal Tony promoter to all of my coworkers and friends who haven’t watched the roast yet or haven’t made it that far into it yet. I’ve been lucky enough to have seen all three of these guys live, the two bald chubby headed bears and the ambiguously gay skinny man and they are phenomenal, it is a great era for comedy right now, thank you.
Its not like that at all. Jeff didn't, and isnt going to, "pass the torch" to anyone. Tony AND Nikki simply stepped up onto the "winners podium", in 2nd and 3rd place along side him. Jeff Ross is the Executive Producer of ALL THESE ROASTS, ...and its Jeff Ross that MAKES THESE ROASTS HAPPEN! ...and that makes them so good. Yes, Tony is AWESOME at PERFORMING on them, but he IS NOT ORGANIZING THEM, ...and WON'T BE! And in case you missed it, it was TONY HIMSELF that made that point.
Tony has the best energy. We were at Mitzi’s bar one evening waiting for the late show and he walks in in a head to toe yellow check tracksuit. The whole vibe changed just his voice - electric! ❤

47:56 the fact that Burp and Tom are already getting scouted for the next roast with that snoozefest of a performance they did meanwhile Tony has heard no follow ups is ridiculous
It's only ridiculous if you're worried about the comedy and not the money but the people making the decisions are worrying about the money as well and they probably have an understanding of the basic concept of negotiation from a point of advantage, which Tony would have overwhelming leverage on at this point. Meanwhile Tom and Bert would be highly motivated to want to make up for their embarrassment and redeem themselves, hell they might even get them to do it for free! There's market forces that play this is America baby pay attention and follow the money
Bert and Tom’s comedy had plateaued and I think their careers are on auto pilot. If they don’t start putting more effort in soon I think opportunities will stop coming in. Meanwhile Tony is constantly grinding and has more talent than those two put together. He has become the king of roasting and I think his career will have more longevity than Bert and Tom. I think Tony has the right skill set and mindset to eventually be the biggest comedian on the planet.
Tony is absolutely on fire. An absolute comic genius. I love how he's so open with his process. He is ALL IN on comedy like a world champion MMA fighter. His hard work is coming to fruition. Unbelievable.

I’ve been lucky enough to have seen all three of these guys live, the two bald chubby headed bears and the ambiguously gay skinny man and they are phenomenal, it is a great era for comedy right now, thank you.
This roast is when Jeff Ross passed on the torch to Tony and this new generation of comics and roasts
They’ve been working with Jeff for years.

Its literally unbelievable and ridiculous....(I do believe tony, but I think it's absolutely insane!)
