Great video ... thanks! I have not yet played Shadows of Brimstone ... but have bought a number of sets, and it got me back into the minis painting hobby after about 30 years away. So far I have painted these Enemy Packs: Scourge Rats, Hell Vermin, Temple Dogs, Swamp Slugs of Jargono, Swamp Raptor of Jargono, Serpentmen of Jargono, and Flesh Mites.
Fun to see people discovering and falling in love with this game, . I haven't' played a single game yet but I am building painting and blogging the coreset rigth now and loving it annnd its such a lifesytle rabbithole lets go!
Nice Paint work! I painted up the Forbidden Fortress core box last month, have this box and swamps of death to paint up. I also use the mini's in other games. Cheers
Just found this game and looking to get into it! Loved your video and looking forward to more SOB videos. I’m thinking of starting out with swamp of death or forbidden fortress, I love swamp themes but also love fudal Japan themes. I’m torn.
That's a tough choice! For what it's worth, I've also heard that Fortress is more refined and balanced, so maybe that will help you with your decision. I haven't jumped into the fortress stuff yet as I have plenty of content with the western stuff
Cute. You soon find your storage solution not enough, since you will dive deeper into this life Style game. Its fun to come up with solutions. You should keep in mind, that you may expand it somehwhat to Infinity :)
SoB is a fun game and I too enjoy the hobby aspects of the game. I have all 3 of the large base sets, the two new smaller base sets, and a ton of expansions. I do not recommend this game to completionists, as there are far too many exclusive and difficult to find expansions. 👍👍
I think SoB is an ok dice chucker, but there's way too much content. I got rid of my collection because I needed the storage space. I hate when games get like that. Anither example is Aeons End. They just don't know when to quit.
Can you recommend any house rules to make this game more of a game and less role playing? meaning there is so little meaningful decision making with the core rules. Other than using a crit or ability token, where is the agency? I own FoF unfortunately. Big disappointment and I can't sell it and invested much time and money into painting it. Realized it's not my type of game. Much prefer Mage Knight and Too Many Bones. I'm thinking to make movement have more agency by being able to fight first and them move might help? Thanks
@@davidt4233 I don't house rule games, and in this case I like all the mechanics so I can't think of what I'd change. If you want a more tactical experience you're not gonna find it in this system, it'd require a complete rework. Have you heard of the Hexcrawl mod? It might make you enjoy it more boardgamegeek.com/filepage/273621/hexcrawl-feudal-japan
Very cool! Would love to see more Shadows content and highlights.
I already have a freshly assembled and primed batch of minis to paint, so maybe!
Wait till you get more expansions and hexplore it.
You’ll be obsessed. It has an incredible campaign.
I would say frontier town is one of my favorite expansions, and trederra otherworld, and blasted wastes
@@tomlajeunesse8622 Frontier town is great! Haven't tried the other two

Thank you for watching! It's an awesome hobby, I'm glad it pulled you back in. I hope you get those minis played too!

This is the way.
Mission packs are a fun addon to the game. Adds 4 new missions. There were 6 for the old west setting.
Hello, thanks for the video, I hope we can download a copy of your “don’t forget these rules” sheet soon!
Thank you for watching! I submitted it to BGG for approval and will share a link when it's up!

Come back the new KS now it’s live. Get the Egypt and the bell train sets plus tons of extras. Great value.
Really interested in the egypt core set!

It's inevitable 🥲

For xp and gold, I use knitting counters. However, the ones I have only go up to 99, so I use tokens to count the 100’s. 👍
Agreed on all accounts 😁 👍

Yeah I made the mistake of getting too much Aeon's End when I first got into it! I'm pretty happy with just the first cycle.
How can there be too much content? Just buy the things you want.
