I hate the concept of legacy games. How could anyone enjoy damaging or tearing components of the game so can only be played once? What evil mind thought that was a good idea?

Relentless Assault is brutal, every time it comes up it punishes sooo much. As the enemy has so many die and characters in the mid/late game, when it's resolving cards the player is usually already done so you never have anything to react with. Sometimes I just stay online passing with one removal in hand in case it does this so I can save something. A little bit too turtle-y because a lot of times I can't really do anything and I just delayed spending a resource I could have used but better safe than sorry.

OMG, here I am just watching a video of top solo board games to find good recommendations, and I get to see a game I was an Illustrator for, Iron Helm! (I'm Daniel Walthall) That's so cool to see, I was not expecting that!! And you even mentioned how much you liked the artwork, which just warms my heart, thank you! And I'm biased of course, but I think Jason really did create an addictive and engaging game with Iron Helm! :D

1:13:42 I think manticores should have initative because opposing hero has attacked you, so when it is a tie braker ( 7 in this case) he attacks first, or am I wrong? Really enjoyed the whole series, good job

Not sure about the Lich.. if it's an action card, it's worth 9 points against an encounter? And you can add the +1 from the magician or a skill etc? For example you pull a 10 of wands then the lich, but have the magician.

Hi! I’m watching your videos on getting started and I’m excited! I’m used to buying into LCGs and even CCGs so I was just curious if I want the “full experience” and want to play on the hardest difficulties how much would a couple good deck and dice cost? For reference I enjoy playing nightmare scenarios in LOTR and always play expert in marvel champs and I play a lot of competitive games. I don’t win a lot but I enjoy solo games that kick my butt lol. Thanks for the content!

Thanks for uploading this video despite your loss. It really helps to demonstrate even normal difficulty can be brutal if RNG is not on your side, best be prepared. Grievous is one of my favourite enemies 👍🏼

I absolutely love this game, so it's nice to see it getting a positive review. I think this game doesn’t put it's best foot forward, as many players come at it as a traditional DC and try to kill all the monsters and then get frustrated when they respawna and/or the player runs out of time. The flow of the game, including the combat, needs to be adjusted to. But it's very worth it to put the time in to learn the flow of the game.

You are a legend! I have to say, I used to enjoy this game quite a bit, but now I can do this solo and coop. Thats pure genius!

Not sure why this just came into my feed now, but as someone with hundreds of hours into Imperial Assault (including dozens of skirmish games, multiple times through each solo campaign, and significant hours in standard campaigns), I’ll say that some box expansions are definitely better than others. The good news is, the boxes which are better for campaign are also better for skirmish and vice versa. So, here’s likely the best order for those: 1. Jabba’s Realm (just the best expansion value in the game) 2-3. Either RtH or HotE. Hoth is better for solo play (HotE doesn’t have an app campaign) but I personally prefer HotE for everything else. 4. Tyrants of Lothal 5. Bedpan Gambit (unless you really really like it in which case if can move up above Tyrants) 6. Twin Shadows (it has its fans, but in terms of pure value, especially for someone who doesn’t know much about this game, this one is the worst.) All the boxes are great though, and I recommend IA to anyone considering it. PS. If you happen to be a skirmish player out there, be sure to check out the IACP!

I watched a guy play this game and basically half of the game was him losing for reasons that had nothing to do with it... Or his units constantly stabbing at the air. Also at one point he was basically destined to win, outnumbering the enemy three or four to one... and suddenly all his units just... Die nothing and all died. In a single turn.

Thanks for the review, i'm always wary of videogames ips in boardgames, and i've read that this was too grindy and with too much expansions/content so i've skipped it completely

PVC is in the starter set only (they do have resin replacements for all of the PVC minis at an extra cost), everything else is resin and recent sets like the T-45 Power Armor are plastic sprues. I believe the new sets coming with Factions (usable in Wasteland Warfare) are in plastic as well. I do agree that the resin kits are overpriced on the level of WH 40K prices which is on the extreme high side of an already expensive hobby. That said I do love this game and the resin minis look very good. Check out the new Hollywood Heroes box if you are into the new TV show.

I just got it and then looked at Solo and was worried but this helped a lot! I had no idea about the fan made campaigns which unlocks this to a whole new level!!

Great breakdown. Vastly different games, but a valid comparison nonetheless. I like skirmish games as well as board games and I have a lot of both. Just rebought the board game with Atomic Bonds, before just had the base game.

The best airplane tray-only games are games that dont need any table space at all. Which is why Palm Island and Dragons of Etchinstone top this list, and i would like to add Galdor's Grip to this list.

Really appreciate this video! Seems to be pretty much the only one out there on this game. Some constructive feedback: don’t bury the lede. I’d suggest to start with what you like and give me the main idea 💡 first! Otherwise I don’t even know if I should bother caring about things like organization and expansions 😊 I just skipped ahead to the end

I dont see the real need to take things like dice to count points for *-cards. The only very first thing you need to do is check, if there cards with "?" that are NOT in the history (so you get less points for that card). Then you need to check if there are *-cards that give VP depending on WHERE specific cards are (e.g. "in play"). The is not the case in >90%. THEN you can just sort all your cards (no matter where they are) in 4 piles. 1.) No VP 2.) fixed/X VP 3.) ? VP 4.) * VP Once you scored 1.)-3.) you can score the *-cards card by card. You can already pre-sort the cards so it's faster. For that you can just take VP markers instead of dice. And: you don't need a big spreadsheet or count play area by play area (as the rules say). You can use the digital sheet on BG stats. I will count time after my next play but I guess it takes me less than 5 minutes to count VP for me an the bot. Also concerning the bot, nobody (except for the rulebook) cares about in which area the cards are. ;-) To me it's just a matter of the right approach/organization when it comes to scoring. But of course I only learned that after like 20 plays. ;-) So it would be good to give new players advice how to effficiently do the scoring so that the scoring will NOT be seen as CON of the game. To me it's not. It's a part of the satisfaction and excitement after each play. :-)
