I love the wild blueberries in muffins (like the little cans they put in the mixes). They used to sell them in large cans (about 15 oz. or so) and my mother would heat them with their liquid and add sugar. She would serve them over hot broken biscuits for a breakfast treat (like you would serve chocolate gravy). It's one of my favorite memories of childhood!
ALL good cooks use "clean hands" as a utensil whenever working in the kitchen. In a Garten says, "A good cook's best tool...clean hands." Thank you for your wonderful recipes & good advice.
We agree, but we've heard from several people who don't! 😊 Thank you for watching our channel and giving us such nice feedback. Enjoy the rest of this weekend!
I have been wearing gloves in the kitchen since forever. I love getting my hands in, but hands add a level of heat that can begin a reaction before you want it. Like squishing meat mixtures for meatballs/meatloaf, if you over-squish, they come out spongey.
Made your blueberry muffins today and they are marvelous. Doubled the recipe and made 12 large muffins. I left the topping off because we have been on vacation and over indulged last week. Thank you for your kindness. I love your blog. ❤
I think some chopped dried blueberries and some chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans would be good in that topping too. Dried blueberries are available in a lot of grocery stores.
@@comesitatmytable9044 By the way, my own Mother is a retired school teacher, so I particularly enjoy listening you chat about your school teaching days. Mom loved each and every one of her students and she also loved to bake and cook.
I’m making these on this Sunday morning for a quick breakfast before church. They smell wonderful in the oven. My granddaughter and son will love them with a few slices of bacon. Thank you for posting😘
This is a recipe I've been looking to make. I used to make blueberry bran decades ago, but forget the recipe. I only remember it takes all bran cereal and molasses, but I don't remember how much of all that or anything else. I love blueberry muffins, bran or regular
I made your blueberry muffins today to take camping for breakfast. They are delicious, soft, moist inside and crunchy sweet on top. I love watching your cooking videos and learning to cook simple recipes is my favorite. I also made the mustard chicken, it was moist and delicious. Your cooking and you and Melissa are wonderful.
I fix blueberry muffins every Christmas morning. I've never made them from scratch. But I will this year. They look delicious ❤ I love your channel. I am 70 yrs old and have leukemia. The last year has been a rough one. I just started walking again and am doing a little cooking for my family. Counting my husband and myself, children and grandchildren, there are 9 of us here. Your recipes and your excellent instructions make cooking easier for me and I truly appreciate your effort ! Yesterday I made your chocolate chip cookie recipe. It was a huge hit. Thank you 🙏 🥰
Hello again Tom and Melissa! I have not made these yet, but I do love them 'Grilled' cut down from the top and butter the insides, face down on the griddle. Warm and carmelized. Sometimes I can get a restaurant to grill tghem for me for breakfast! Another great video, thanks again!
These are absolutely delicious. I doubled the batter and made a dozen of muffins. I didn't add the topping, my family didn't want it,they were still delicious.
I only watch you and chef Jeff. Thank you for your video's and including the recipes. i so am making these when I move to my new apartment. thank you so much.
I know I'm biased, but I do think Tom is a great cook and he does a nice job of making it simple so everyone can follow along. These are very tasty muffins!
Hello Tom and Melissa! These Blueberry, Muffins look absolutely, delicious! I’m sure to make them, but I haven’t made Muffins, before so I’m hoping, they turn out really nice, and delicious. Again thank you for, sharing your recipes with all of us. I love Blueberries! My Uncle brought, back some from, Canada, and they were the best, that I ever tasted! God bless you’ens 🙏👏♥️
Oh my word lol wow yum mmm I usually have a hard time keeping my attention span focused No matter how interested I am but your videos are so easy to follow and keep up and It actually makes me excited to try out some baking for my family Never been good at it didn't have the patience or the attention for it but now I think I can handle it thanks to you guys thank you so much Look for it to Look forward to all your new Thank you so much so much thank you thank you LOL
Don't you just love the smell of any kind of breads baking int the oven?!!! Such a comforting and welcoming smell for our home. Thank you so much for watching our channel.
I use this same recipe and change the blueberries for 1 c. mini chocolate chips, or fry apples. Their are so many ways you can change the recipe. Come up with great alternatives. Just let you mind go!
Absolutely Delicious! Thank you for the wonderful recipe and step by step video. I would use Rumford or Bobs red Mill baking powder, to avoid the aluminum in other brands. I also have been trying the gluten free flour blends, such as Bobs Red Mill, King Arthur Baking Co, or create my own using almond, coconut, cassava flours. I try to avoid soy, as it binds thyroid hormone receptors and causes thyroid function disruption (per.Dr Steven Gundry's book The Plant Paradox) . I also like corn muffins with berries, cranberry and orange zest is another great combination, especially cookies.
What a wonderful recipe. I love to make grab-and-go breakfast is for my family. We all have to get up early and go to work and we don't have time to cook breakfast. I like to make this type of grab-and-go breakfast ahead of time. Can you answer a question for me? Do I need to change any part of that recipe for higher altitude? I always get confused with any recipes that have the leavening in them because we have a higher altitude.
Love ❤your recipes. New to the channel trying each and everyone. Could you please do a video on your take of sloppy joes. I would love and appreciate it 💯
I bet they will be fine. You may not have the "bite into a blueberry" experience but they should still have a wonderful flavor. Thanks so much for watching our channel. We really do appreciate it.
Hello Tom. Hello Melissa. Thank you for sharing this recipe. I can't wait to make these when it's nice and cold outside. I'll have to have a good pot of hot coffee along with them. Here's another question. The person you get your eggs from, her name wouldn't happen to be Belinda would it? She drops off eggs at my parents house every few weeks or so. They live in Perryville.
Okay - STUPID me, did not read the instructions & only went by the video. Which did NOT mention Oven Temperature 😫 I went with 350 & I kept checking after 20 minutes & … well you can guess the rest 😪 I LEARNED a VALUABLE LESSON. GREAT RECIPE By the way ♥️ Thank you 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much for watching, and reading the recipes! We hope you get to enjoy these as much as we do. Thank you so much for watching our channel. We appreciate having you at our table.
Why do some of my blueberry muffins start out looking really nice but sink a little over half way through baking? They look so nice but then it happens. lol I might be putting to much of that yummy topping on maybe?
I assume you mean stirring it by hand with a spoon or whisk. Yes, you absolutely can stir it up by hand. I hope you enjoy these wonderful muffins. Have a nice day!
Absolutely. We always make it with blueberries but I can't imagine you couldn't try another fruit. You've got me a bit curious now about some variations. Great question, Jennifer. Thanks so much for watching our channel. We really do appreciate that you have joined us at the table.
If you think they are dry or cakey, use very little mixing. I cringed when I saw the mixer. Some batters should only be mixed minimally after wet has been added to the dry ingredients. Pancakes are the same way. Allow batter to rest 5 minutes. Add 1/3 cup melted butter to the recipe. More moist and more delicious ❤ Do not overmix! Love the 'crumb' 😋
Keep colloidal silver spray on hand (10 ppm). Spray 10 sprays towards the back of your mouth every two hours. You need to do this as soon as you feel your illness coming on. It doesn’t work for allergies.
I have a ?: when talking about freezing your muffins, you always say to freeze the muffins, then put them in a zippy bag, and then return to freezer. Y not just put them in a zippy bag and freeze them to begin with ? Just askin.
Freezing them individually (ie on a cookie sheet), prior to placing in freezer bags, helps avoid the muffins getting frozen & stuck together which makes it easier to remove one muffin at a time. This method works for berries, vegetables etc.
For tender muffins, the less you mix the better. Even if there's a few flour pockets, that's OK, in fact it's better, trust me. I'm cringing because to me, you've over mixed...sorry Don't over mix !

Nature's measuring instruments. I was telling my husband, that we have the same stove but my digitals are on the front of my stove 😊👍🏼
Yummy
I use this same recipe and change the blueberries for 1 c. mini chocolate chips, or fry apples. Their are so many ways you can change the recipe. Come up with great alternatives. Just let you mind go!
I am not a fan of blueberries but my sister is and I will make these for her.
May I make a suggestion you might want yogurt which will make the blueberry muffins more moist
Sure! Thank you for the idea. We love good tips from fellow food lovers! And thank you so much for watching our videos.
Yummy those look good
They are! We appreciate you watching our video!
I knew you were a teacher after watching your first video!

Blue b berrie muffins are my favorite
We hope you love this recipe for them! Thank you so much for watching our channel! We really appreciate it!
Could you use cake tester stick or toothpick to check for doneness
I have this recipe, but it doesn't have the topping...got to try that!
Looks wonderful! Do you have a pumpkin cream cheese muffin? I’d love to find a good recipe for that. 😀
Love ❤your recipes. New to the channel trying each and everyone. Could you please do a video on your take of sloppy joes. I would love and appreciate it 💯
By the way I have saved every one of the videos I have watched ❤😂
I forgot to fold the blueberries in so my batter turned purple. I also didn't use the paper cups. They're in the oven now so I hope they turn out ok.
I bet they will be fine. You may not have the "bite into a blueberry" experience but they should still have a wonderful flavor. Thanks so much for watching our channel. We really do appreciate it.
Been telling everyone about your channel.
Thanks
Could you use strawberries cut up in place of blueberrys
What temperature were they bbbaaked at
Hi love your video's. Could you make a pound cake. I tried a recipe online and it was horrible. Too much sugar and hard as rock.
how long are you going do it for
It takes 20 to 25 minutes to bake.
What size is the scoop
They don’t have a very rounded top like I’m used to seeing. Is this what I should expect?
Fingers are the utensils GOD gave us🙂🙏🏻 use them well.
I'm OK using clean hands to mix up the topping, but the rings carry bacteria. They should be removed when mixing up food with your hands.
Wouldn't these be great with a nice cup of coffee or a tall glass of milk.
What temp on the oven?..
400 degrees.
The recipe is always included in the description box, too.
We are so happy to have you with us. Thanks for being a part of our channel.
Why do some of my blueberry muffins start out looking really nice but sink a little over half way through baking? They look so nice but then it happens. lol I might be putting to much of that yummy topping on maybe?
can i do it by hand
I assume you mean stirring it by hand with a spoon or whisk. Yes, you absolutely can stir it up by hand. I hope you enjoy these wonderful muffins. Have a nice day!
We don’t like blue berry’s can we use another fruit?
Jennifer

Frozen strawberrys

I agree with hand mixing. Do you substitute the butter for the oil or add it to the recipe?
@
Add it to the recipe 😋
Need blue berry pie with frozen blue berry
We love blueberry pie. That might need to go on our list for videos.
Yummmmmmmy lolol
Copied your recipe. Will be making these. Look delicious 😋
We are so happy that you are going to try these muffins. We really do enjoy them. Thank you so much for watching our channel.

Chico chip instead of blueberries

What. Grads do. Yall. Sub
I'd rather use olive oil or avocado oil rather than vegetable oil or canola oil for the base of the muffin.
For tender muffins, the less you mix the better.
Even if there's a few flour pockets, that's OK, in fact it's better, trust me. I'm cringing because to me, you've over mixed...sorry
Don't over mix !
You might of washed your hands but you did touch the plastic milk container, salt container, etc.
No like that part....otherwise yum I guess
