- One of my favourite decoupage papers to use on furniture project is rice paper. In today’s tutorial you will see me using posh chalk, deluxe, decoupage, paper, and chalk paint to create a seamless project.
 This tutorial is probably one of my longest to date. It’s just over two hours long, but it is jampacked full of information on how to tackle your project from preparation to application of rice, paper hand, painting over and around the image, creating a seamless full image.  Also, I will be covering off the difficulties along the way in using decoupage over drawer fronts.  And around sharp corners, there will be many other handy hints along the way, including creating a chalk paint crackle just from chalk paint. Also you will find me using gold leaf.

I want to do this so badly. I have a small bureau we use as a side table beside our couch. I’ve decided to paint it with chalk paint and apply molded flowers to the sides. 🤞 I’m 74. 74, Midlife not far behind you i live in New York so plenty of old stuff thrown out on the streets, i just started painting has well,its 3.30 Am,painting everything in sight 1 thing i love is GLOW IN THE DARK, Paint Paint my remotes, phone etc can never find them actually i broke my phone, maybe we can take photos x share

A tool suggestion. Sewists have an awesome cutting tool, looks like a pizza cutter and is incredibly sharp, called a rotary cutter. Because it rotates, it will not pull and tear your paper like the craft knife will. Your work is stunning.

Hmmmm, just as I thought from the beginning.... It's absolutely BEAUTIFUL, Marc. So inspiring. Makes me think I could do this, even though I've never ever decoupaged rice paper and certainly never painted or blended like this. I must find a smaller project to try this technique. ❤

I saw this but missed the fun crackle and gold leaf - which I watched today. Then I noticed that I have the same exact flourish that is in the reveal photo to the left of the little chest.
Absolutely stunning. This came up randomly on my feed and I’m hooked! I love watching a lady called Kacha (name of her channel also) repainting unloved pieces of brown furniture and turning them into beautiful pieces for the modern day home. Your pieces aren’t just practical but works of art too.
It certainly is troublesome if you have tight drawers! 😂 Sorry, couldn't resist. Thank you for the excellent tutorial. I'm nowhere near ready to tackle something like that, but enjoy watching.

I commented before the end and had to pop back on and say how much I love the end result, especially the gold foil! That's one thing I am addicted to, it adds such a gorgeous decadent aged look and is so much better than slapping on gold paint or ... God forbid, gold spray paint! lol And the aged leather!! Wow! I have had the absolute worst time trying to find a good crackle medium... they just won't do as they're told! lol But this really looks wonderful and you didn't even use a crackle medium! I think I may try this on the top of a little table but add an embossed stencil... if that would still work with the chunky paint. The wax always works so well giving it an authentic antique look. And I love using the red as as a base coat for the gold foil, you did a fantastic job! This is truly a work of art!! And please, never worry about the length of your videos, you always leave us wanting to see more! I was going to take it easy today but I think I need to paint something!!

Beautiful. Decoupage one of my interests. This takes it to the high level that would aspire to. Darn it, I gave away many many brushes thinking I wouldn’t be doing much more because of aging ❤
It's lovely! The only thing I would do different is age the painting itself with the dark wax to match the top and bottom.

The project is lovely! One idea, if you want all three sides of your chest to have the same “canvas” texture, adhere a single sheet of plain tissue and paint over that, just like you have on the detail work on front and other side.

I am an artist and I would have loved painting that picture by hand onto the furniture. That would be fun. I could use the picture as a reference. If I may, did you notice when you were going in with more blue for the sky and then green on the rebates, a spot got on the main birds crest feathers and sort of cut the long plumes in half? Was waiting for you to go back in with white over them, but perhaps you didn’t notice! ❤
