Paco is really out there questioning the legitimacy of "Charmingman" as a name when he can open a history book and see a president whose first name is "Funny".
Wasn't Funny Valentine's existence as the president erased or something?
@@robertlocke5614no???
@@robertlocke5614 No, just a straight-up nail through the head. You're probably mixing him up with Pucci
No, I believe Part 7's ending notes that Valentine became incredibly famous after his disappearance. Which makes sense. Imagine if JFK just vanished. There'd probably be just as many conspiracy theories associated with him, if not more
@@TheEssentialHughJazz I don't know if it was the SPW or the government but it must've been a very strange few days for them to hide evidences that the same guy got murdered like 8 different times. Some of those in public spaces.
Ah yes, charmingman. Known better by his localized name: *m e s m e r i z i n g m a l e*
Can’t wait for InterestingFella’s localized stand name
More like “compelling companion”
HandsomeHomoSapien
Charming One
Chammin Man
I can't believe in the span of less than a week I've gone from "Charmingman is a stupid name", to it being almost natural to my ears.
This manga had a part where almost every character was named after a food item in Italian, and they were all Italian. I don’t think “stupid name” is really applicable to Jojos
I love Charmingman
@@MisterIncog yeah, for example : Giorno = day.
Don’t hate on the smiths!
Not my first Jodio
My current theory is that the rock SOMEHOW embodies the two concepts the new universe presented to us, at the same time: blessings, and calamity.
The rock takes blessings from people and places around itself, leaving only calamity behind. Charmingman probably meant that for Jodio to become rich, he'll have to bring calamity to his friends and family.
It's a story about bootleg copies and impressions on which product is original or popular. Therefore character names refer to two different songs. Charmingman is The Smiths and The Blur. THE Matte Kudasai is both Matte Kudasai and Chotto Matte Kudasai by Sam Kapu and plenty other artists. However the western audience only hears King Crimson that made it just different enough, like Miracle Star to Gumball and PAlworld to Pokemon.
"Rich" refers to Kane of Hawaiian myth.
What?
Very interesting theory
That would make JoJolands far interesting
@@sboinkthelegday3892 Maybe I'm stupid but I didn't understand a thing you said.
With his backstory and role as a previous villain turned ally due to shared goals, Charming-Man is definitely giving me Polnareff vibes and that instantly makes me like him
Yup. I had the same impression. :D
It is intresting to see paralells between Jodio and Charmingman. Both have brothers, both have been "wronged" (i do not know better word to use) by policemen, both are sociopathic enough to try coldbloodedly kill one another and then have normal conversation about music with no holded negative feelings.
In Hawaii folklore volcanoes are considered gods. I have a feeling there will be some link between this and lava rock.
Mitsukabe Hill moment?
that’s interesting
That'd be fun
@@roman108 I learned about it from Like a dragon 8 and some net search
It almost feels like Mauka was sacrificed to the volcano (sorry for being stereotypical)
i hope we see paco and charmingman talk more, i feel like they are the only two serious people on the crew. jodio is a serious guy on the surface, but hes really a silly dude when hes with the others
One of the nicest and sincerest shady salesman ever.
Meryl will for sure be an antagonist at one point
Fat mafia boss that tells the JoJo of the part what to do early on? Reminds me of a guy who was killed by a banana…
@@kirimusseor Pericolo
I love how Charmingman says his name, and Paco and Jodio question it for a few milliseconds and accept that as his name. Like, did the parents name Mauka normally but quirkily name their other son Charmingman? It's pretty odd in my opinion and maybe it's a codename for his real name or something, I don't really know.
Now heres a thought regarding Charmingman being in the group now. Not only do I think he will change the dynamic of the group, I think he WILL be the one to change their mind about being drug dealers.
Look at his story this way, hes a guy who aspires to find out what happened to his missing brother after he got lost in the lava tubes. And unlike the main cast, he has YET to actively commit a crime or be considered a criminal. In fact based on the circumstances of the story so far, if you look at Charmingmans point of view, his goal is "noble". Not to mention from another view, Charmingman could be seen more like a hostage if anything. When we look at the main crew, theyre willing to commit crimes if it means making money and they DON'T seem shy about it. This characteristic in Charmingman, is a trait that has been in jojo for MANY years. As the story will go on, I think his nobility will pass on to the rest of cast, but as of how or when, we'll have to wait.
Charmingman's brother getting kidnapped by Radio Gaga 2.0 made this Part more interesting that it already was
Can't wait for the next chapters
Yeah
tbh i hope the rock organisms dont show up again, we had them for 10 years (way way longer than we had vampires and pillar men) and they come off as more of a TSKR type villain than a JoJo villain.
i love jodio, he feels that he's a nice mix of josukes chillness and giorno's ambitiousness, along with some gen Z nerdiness. he absolutely feels in line with a current day teen
Probably a coincidence, but some of the overall story elements and this chapter specifically reminded me of "Once in a Lifetime" by the Talking Heads. The song's theme of disillusionment can be seen in the first verse and the lyric "Into the blue again after the money's gone" may foreshadow what happens to Jodio when he becomes rich. Water is also a big theme in the song and the lyric "Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground" especially is reminiscent of the lava tubes of this chapter.
GETTING A SMITHS REFERENCE IN JOJO IM SO HAPPY 😭
ME TOO!!!! 😭😭😭
Wasn't expecting it but I'm grateful
FR AND ITS MY FAVORITE SONG
I have this strange feeling everyone in the cast would die with only Jodio and maybe Charming-man left at the end.
charningman def not making it
You poor soul, if anybody is going to be with Jodio, I'd say it's Dragona
Jodio confirmed that this is his story of becoming filthy rich. This plus he was diagnosed with psychopathy he will probably become protagonist villain and betray gang when he will find opportunity.
@@jacek107ifyhe was diagnosed with aspd not psychopathy, plus most people with aspd live normal lives as well as the fact we've been shown jodio and dragona caring about eachother I doubt they are setting up a jodio betrayal
@@AndyLeeVlogsI don’t think Dragona’s gonna make it either. If I remember correctly, every non-JoJo Joestar (that wasn’t a JoJo’s mother) ended up getting killed.
When I first read the name "Charmingman" I said out loud "Of course" Pure Araki. Unexpected but consistent.
Hopefully Araki starts making references to songs from Depeche Mode and The Cure, since those are bands I like the music of and it would be great to see some representation of it in *_THE JOJOLANDS._*
THE CURE is actually the stand of coniglio from the light novel Golden Heart Golden Ring
I think we might get our next Villains from merly mei qi as she might also have other people who work under her sort of like la squadra ....just a thought
Great chapters in this months release.
Araki is doing a great job as always
my theory is that using the lava rock will slowly devalvue the item the rocks attract especially the longer the transport takes
I think Charmingman is gonna be like a alternate universe version of Fugo's intended role of being a spy.
let’s hope for that
would that make Uzagi Giorno being the "new guy" of the group?
I'm wondering though what is the connection between Charmingman and the cats from earlier. We know that he is the owner of the cats but we've not seen them in his backstory nor has he ever acknowledged them directly. Because if Charmingman is really the owner of the cats with his powers and the cats' stand he will really be a valuable asset for the team. Probably he alone his better than the whole team so far, like except November Rain, every other main cast members' stand isn't really impressive. Charmingman's stand on the other hand seems perfect for heist missions being able to disappear within the surrounding landscape
I think Paco has shown himself to be pretty strong, and honestly Dragona has quite the potential to do interesting things. The only one I’m not really sure about is Usagi, I think we need to see more of what he’s capable of
Yes! Been waiting for this vid, great chapter overall
Pretty cool chapter excited to see where it goes. It’s crazy it’s already been a year time flies
Araki's love and dedication to British music is beyond respect ❤
Like in Jojolion, there sure is lot of mystery surrounding the JOJOLands which we will definetly find out more as months go on.
Ngl, the Phantom Blood musical, specially the casting, looks AMAZING. I hope its success will lead to a live-action adaptation of the manga similar to the one of One Piece😊
Phantom Blood would be the best part to make in live action
@@theletterm1787
Yeah. It's pretty short and by far the least bizarre. It should be easy af to make a Phantom Blood live-action move or miniseries
@@OptimusMaximusNero It'd be great as a gothic horror/action movie. Shoot it on 35mm film with 'scope lenses. It could be amazing
@@theletterm1787 You're hoping for too much. I pray they never make a Live Action JoJo's because it will inevitably be shit.
@@Mooglatanactually they already did a part 4 live action movie, and a thus spoke kishibe rohan live action series
I have a feeling Charmingman will be a fan favourite
FINALLYYYYYY been waiting on this review
Let me guess... The volcanic activity is caused a Devil's Palm made by the brain of the Holy Corpse somehow getting swept away to Hawaii, and the lava rocks are objects with the power of Fate. Also there's a new kind of Rokakaka grown from the volcanic sand on the island.
Charmingman's line could be foreshadowing a equivalent exchange is needed like his brother's life for money and when the fortune runs out Calamity would happen for more good fortune.
Araki~sensei could’ve also named him “Chadsman The Third”
This may not happen, but it would be cool to see a variation of Emporio with Weather Report. Like we seen with Rohan in this part. Maybe an older version of him
The brother is called Mauka, not Makua.
I usually love the character designs but the bow is now working for me
Charmingman and his brother are obviously rock humans. Sandy skin, most RH's have stands too. Rocks melt into lava. Charmingmans brother melted into the lava rock. The lava rocks power is his brothers stand. Also, not onky is it illegal to take lava rocks from Hawaii, the curse of Pele brings horrible luck and on those who steal lava rocks. This is the reason Charmingman said Jodios freinds would "drop out". The story will conclude with Jodio racing up an erupting volcano to return the lava rock to save the island.
Charmingman seems like a....charming man. 😂
I know that it’s highly unlikely but maybe charmingman is a both a human and rock human making him some sort of rock human hybrid
Sza in jojo
My charming man dinner tonight is going to be sooooo good
Nice to see another Sza fan 😌
PEAK!!!
I WOULD GO OUT TONIGHT
The portrayal of cops are getting more real by each chapter also meryl is so slay 💕
Don't rock humans die or get damaged by water? And he was literally fighting jodio underwater
I don't....think?
My crackpot theory at this point is that the Rock is Charming Man's brother, or at least part of him.
Maybe in the end, the group will have to choose between the wealth of the rock and getting the brother back.
Also, I'm still not ruling out that Charming Man, which I doubt is actually his real name, is a Rock Human or at least something related to them. We know that Rock Humans and Humans can have children together, but we have yet to see one, so maybe he's the missing link?
Good theory 👍
To be fair Toru seemed to be implied to be the child of a rock human mother and a human father. Because before that narration we actually were told that humans and rock humans can't have children together but then we get introduced to the concept of female rock humans and their capabilities to be basically indistinguishable from human women and to be able to have children with male humans. And at the end of that narration we saw Toru's birth. So even if not directly stated, it's at least heavily implied that there is a possibility of Toru having been half rock human and half human
@@lordfreezer5631Toru's (potential) human father; Rockussy got me acting unwise!
Are you okay Hamon Beat?
My guess is that “Charmingman” is going to be this universes Bruno.
He seems more like a Weather Report type of character to me
@@lordfreezer5631Enemy turned ally, driven by a lost sibling. He's Polnareff.
Are lava tubes similar to wall eyes?
Finally a smiths reference
Im still mad he wasnt named Smiths, and his stand is called Charming Man. Mainly because that's been my OC stand user since I've been a Jojo fan
Can't wait to see Charming Male in the anime
See you in 10 years then…?

Charming Guy
Fascinating Human
all you need to do to make friends is simply not kill them
That's the JoJo way since Part1. :D I adore it. WIsh I could make life-and-death friends simply by not killing them.
I’m just glad Araki finally used a name inspired from the Smiths.
The lava tubes give me wall eyes vibes
I'm really intrigued in what role Charmingman is gonna be in the story. Is he gonna be central, is he gonna be a more serious character like Jodio or more comedic like Usagi?
probably more serious
fun.
A question that's been really nagging at me ever since the thought of this being the last JoJo part becoming increasingly likely, but would you want the SBR universe to end with a MASSIVE finale-like event similar to Stone Ocean's, or would a more routine or "traditional" ending be better for the series?
I think his name is Charmingman
We got rock animals
SZA, eh? so... "Nobody Gets Me" hehe
of course the moment i name my oc's stand off the smiths jojolands uses the same exact song for charmingman 😞
still love it tho
This charming man is such a good and gay song
why did the eye black disappear from charming man's face in 1:04
my first thought with charmingmans skin is that he could have rock human ancestry, although i dont remember entirely clearly and it may be impossible for a human and a rock human to have a child.
i bet his brother is gonna be the main villain
I'd like to point out, that I think Charmingman looks alot like The Crow,so maybe his appearance is a reference to that,or its just a coincidence.
Mauka*
First 12 chapters and I'm a little worried. I learnt Japanese to keep up with steel ball run, and kept up monthly with jojolion from the start, and I loved both those stories in the first 10 chapters, as a definite....even as monthly releases. And the unsure-ness about this new part feels worrisome. The art is at its peak, but the story is weird, jodio is sold as not smart and out of control, but exhumes the most control in the group. Why did Rohan appear, I loved it at the release, the hype, but it died down and its like, why is a 1 for 1 rohan in the series. I hope its a slow burn and by the end of year 2 I'm eating my words but I'm worried after 12 issues my fears are realised
This is a The Smiths reference isn’t it?
I like how, Charmingman look feminine with his hairstyle and clothes. He's probably referencing to Narancia, dude looks like a lady
the person they give the diamond to at the end is polpo
Ngl I hate all this "x character is the AU version of x character."
I feel like unless the parallel isn't immediately obvious, i.e. in the name, there isn't one. Charmingman is Charmingman, why degrade his character by saying he's ultimately just a copy of someone else?
@@Mooglatan sounds like you were saying alternate universe and parallel world is a different concept. Nah, they're actually the same. Anyway, I never said Charmingman is "ultimately just a copy" of Narancia. Just saying, Araki redo the dude looks like a lady in The JOJOLands. Dragona, he's just an average American people these days. Unlike Charmingman, he's the true dude looks like a lady, just like Narancia
I also never agree "x character is the AU version of x character". Like Dio (Diego Brando) wasn't AU version of Dio from JJBA: PB or JJBA: SC. Dio (Diego Brando) is literally a new character with Dio (JJBA: PH) references. I never agree THE WORLD is a counterpart of The World. Just like that one dude said, "they might have same abilities and name but, they aren't really the exact same Stand"
@@cheezlord997 lol, is it because she's big and also the boss of the Furious Four?
There's an awesome amount of racial diversity in this part bro. I'd love to see some major antagonists, rock humans, and other characters with unique appearances!
I want Dragona to dominate me
😐
i want a female main villain so bad
so i'm telling myself that Meryl Mei has a chance of being the main villain of JoJoLands
and she does have an evil vibe
Yes, she has the same vibe as the Boss from part 5. Eyes and ears everywhere.
I get Polpo vibes from her. @@zamuda3852
@@zamuda3852 she has no Diavolo vibes at all. She is barely a Polpo or a Pericolo
OMG SAME I ALWAYS THINK ABOUT A FEMALE VILLAIN 🥹🥹🥹
I mean, we got jolyne as a protagonist, why not have another girl/woman as an antagonist? it makes sense ://
It could be that charmy is a mixed with a human mother
Wasn't it outright stated that rock humans can't reproduce with humans?
I think Charmingman's connections to the rock humans might genuinely be just Araki faking us out. If you look throughout JoJo history, Araki has a compulsive habit of abandoning old ideas in favour of new ones particularly across parts. Hell, this is the whole reason for stands which ultimately saved the series. If rock humans were a Part 8 thing, I reckon Araki is just gonna wanna move on in Part 9.
@@Mooglatan that was true until female rock humans were introduced. Male rock humans can't impregnate human women. But female rock humans can get impregnated by regular humans
@@lordfreezer5631
It was never stated that rock men can't impregnate human women, it was stated that there are no examples of it, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.
@@lordfreezer5631it never stated they can't reproduce with normal humans, but the manga did say they will kill off their human partner at some point into the relationship
