My god, for about a month and a half now I had this problem. Terribly annoying - whenever I make a left turn, this splash of water comes out. Beyond the fact I couldn't understand where it came from, it is a ridiculous problem as each time I drive with someone I have to explain and warn the person about the bizzare problem. I didn't had the time to go to the car dealership as I live far from it, but on the last few days the amount of water increased and from a few drops it completely soaked the carpet. Completely intolerable. Last night I spent an hour trying to find the cause, unsuccessfully. Today, my father found this video for me. Just now I unclogged this thing that made my life a bit more annoying than usual. Using merely a plastic straw and parking on a curve. Thank God for this video, for my dad and for plastic straws!
My 2012 Elantra was having this issue, and by following your instructions exactly I was able to solve the issue, thank you. I had tried using a shop vac initially, but that didn't clear the obstruction. By using a small tube exactly like the one shown in the video, I was able to clear the obstruction and water immediately started to flow out the drain again
You just saved me $140 bucks the dealership was going to charge me. 5 minutes on RUclips and one plastic straw from Dunkin’ Donuts is all it took. Thank you!!! Tip for the true non-professionals like myself: I don’t own a jack so instead I parked my car on a slight incline with the front tires on the sidewalk and back tires on the road. This created enough space for me to reach under and unclog it. Appreciate the tip about using a straw or tube rather than an air compressor like some other videos and like the dealership wanted to do. So simple!
I figured out this was the problem with my 2015 KIA Forte whenever I'd make a hard left turn, I'd hear water sloshing up under the dash. The Forte and the Elantra are bascially the exact same car. How do you get the water out of the blower motor?
So if water is coming out of that tube everting is ok? I saw that I had a leak on the bottom of my car and am trying to diagnose what the problem is. All my main fluids are full (oil, engine coolant, break fluid). And the fluid seemed to be water based that was leaking
Same problem in our car, 2011 Hyundai Elantra. Going to bring it into the mechanic when the air circulating fan stopped blowing and AC will turn off if fan is set to 4, when fan will blow. So I'm guessing the water caused a short somewhere. Checked all the fan, blower and AC fuses and those are ok. Will bring it into the dealer where I just spent $360 for them to fix the AC which wasn't blowing cold. Maybe some idiot mechanic like the 1 mentioned below blocked off the drain tube while they were "fixing" my AC. I'll report back, thanks for the vid.
If you don't use the air conditioner for the week then no more water will accumulate but the water inside will continue to slosh around while driving, which is not great. The AC drain line is just out of reach for most people when the vehicle is parked on a flat surface. Read comments below.... some people simply parked the front car tire on a curb or stable high ground and set the parking brake to access the drian line.
@@tombarkand7846 thanks for the info. It's much appreciated. I did try to access it by parking on the curb but I couldn't find it. Pretty much the whole bottom of my 2026 is covered by a plastic splash guard and I'm wondering if I'll have to remove it. Any idea?

Thanks for the content. I got an Elantra 2012 and managed to unclog my ac drain line with a skewer stick, without a jack.
My wife's 2017 Santa Fe is having this problem! Every time she makes a left turn, the passenger floor becomes saturated with water.
I used a wet drive vac and it worked fantastically thanks for the info !

Thanks for the tip. Saved me some time. I used a shop vac to empty the water and crudd.
Thanks, my 11 elantra had the same issue, simple will try today
Thank you very much for this video! This helped me clear the clog on my 2013 Elantra.

Thank you Tom Great content.
How pressing is this issue? Would it be okay to continue to drive with it for a week? Waiting on a paycheck for car jack and jack stands.

What if you tried this and it did not resolve itself?
How do you put the ac back line back in mine came out when I went over a curb :( and I need to hook it back up .
Thanks for the info.
Thank you, i will try this
Thank you
Thanks a Million 👍🏽
Okay so what if I don’t have any water inside but the tube under my car is dripping. Is that normal or a problem??
That is normal water drainage when the A/C is operating, the tube is not plugged and is working properly.
Life saver ❤️❤️
What if it doesn't work?
how do you do that?
I have this problem, but only when it rains. I found the water leaking from under the glove box.
