Randy Hansen, guitar virtuoso and one of the few guitarists in the world to be recognised by the Hendrix family played at QPAC in Brisbane on 31st May, 2016. He brought his explosive guitar interpretations reminiscent of all that was breath taking and spellbinding about Jimi Hendrix.
Randy Hansen, the Seattle-born firebrand, has been stunning audiences worldwide with his explosive homage since the 1970s. He has even unleashed his uncanny virtuosity and dazzling charisma alongside Hendrix’s own former bandmates, Mitch Mitchell, Noel Redding and Buddy Miles. Over 40 years, he has shared stages with Stevie Ray Vaughan, Steve Miller, Paul Rodgers, Sammy Hagar, Herbie Hancock, Robert Cray and Bob Seger. He has been acclaimed by Eddie Van Halen and Eddie Vedder and released more than a dozen albums including Hendrix by Hansen.

Randy completely blows my mind I along with the crowd were speechless at the end i never have heard anyone play jimi hendrix songs and and sound correct Randy not only has the ability to play hendrix right but takes us to the next step and blasts into outerspace only the man himself could until Randy he truly is a medicine man because he is channeling jimi

Every time I listen to Randy and his band I dream like I was on Jimi’s presence! It sounds perfect, just as the Jimi’s records. Hopefully someday I will be at those shows (living in South America makes it difficult but not impossible)!

I have read that Jimi never performed this song live, and I don't believe I have ever seen a clip of him doing it either over all the years I have been searching and watching Jimi's videos. An amazing performance Randy. Saw a performance you and the band did in Brisbane a few years ago. Took my daughter who was brought up on Jimi's music and similar. She could not believe how great you are and how much you sound like him.
This is what Hendrix didn't live long enough to figure out: how to deliver it all onstage.
