When he said "the only thing I've done to keep my self alive is to play Jimi Hendrix's music", I had to play that back three or four time to make sure I heard that correctly. Feel you on that one brother. Music can do that to you.

Had the great fortune to see Randy and the boys perform at his house a year ago, by special invitation. Just 20 of us and he pulled out all the stops. That set up in his backyard is amazingly perfect as the drummer is inside the garage and somehow the sound that pours out from the stage is really dialed in and enjoyable. I saw Randy play several times back in the 1980s, but the backyard show was the best thing I've seen in many years. Thanks RH...you rock buddy.

Back when he was living in Seattle, my dad used to park down the street from Randy's house and listen to him rehearse.

Been listening to Randy since late 1980 when I bought his debut lp on Capital records, picked up Astral Projection Live 3 yrs later and had to wait until the cd era to pick up his subsequent releases on cd, have all of them, wish I could have seen him live but I'm in Canada so shit out of luck as he never plays here, been waiting since 1980! Have seen many others, Randy Rhodes, Frank Marino, Robin Trower, Johnny Winter, Ten Nugent, Malmsteen, Van Halen, Paul Gilbert, Roy Buchanan, Blah Blah Woof Woof etc Ironic that Randy wants to play but cannot and I wanted to see him but could not, now I'm an old &^%$ of 60 time is running out for both of us!

One day I hope to see this legend play! As close as it gets to Jimi. I love his take on "Papa was a rolling stone", check it out if you haven't heard it yet!
I wish for Randy and all other musicians to get out of their "covid chains" ASAP.

Darrell Fields (from Flint, Michigan) was the first (early 1970s) Hendrix tribute guitarist..played Hendrix note-for-note. His own songs were just as good as Hendrix. I held his Echoplex in my apartment for him, in 1978.

I heard Randy hanson had seen Hendrix in concert, once. Up front next stage. How did randy buy Curtis mayfield record with Jimi Hendrix, and not see Jimi Hendrix experience album first. Unless Curtis mayfield was already cashin in using Hendrix’s name.

This will come off as rude, I'm sure, but I hope this man learned about himself in the downtime. Music itself is an escape from life -- to live someone else's music career is almost twice removed from what is. Good on him for bringing joy to others, but those fans, who keep living in the past, wanting to see a dead man perform... they are deluded. The world is still filled with chaos, war, corruption, etc. Living for personal pleasure is what got us here, and no one seems interested in changing that. Jimi thought maybe his music could change something about the way we are, and sadly he was wrong.
