Rumors of a GTA Trilogy remaster have been circulating for most of 2021.... Today those rumors were confirmed true by Kotaku through three separate sources. The GTA Trilogy remaster will be coming in Fall 2021 around the same time as GTA 5 Expanded & Enhanced is released, alongside the GTA III 20th Anniversary! This is AMAZING! The GTA Trilogy Remaster will be remastered on the Unreal Game Engine and even though Rockstar Games has not released any official GTA Trilogy Remastered Gameplay, last year a team known as Arcadia Games remastered GTA San Andreas on the Unreal 4 Game Engine and this was swiftly taken down by Take 2. As we know when Take 2 issues take downs it's because Rockstar Games plans to release what it being made by fans. I can't wait to play the OG GTA games with updates graphics!

@Jefferson Lopez kotaku has confirmed with sources, its still a rumor but multiple sources are now talking about it. And Take Two also have confirmed there will be 3 more remasters coming so it does make sense. But we'll see what happens.

@Call Me AutSpec True story. I Emailed a picture project the I was editing to a teacher back in high school. I didn’t know however that the Email name was the same as my RUclips name. Circumstantially as a result, not only did that staff member see it. But everyone else in the class presentation as it was projected on a white screen. Needless to say, the assistant principal who was also attending the class presentation was not too happy about it. But she as well as everyone else still couldn’t help but laugh about it. I even admitted that it was a mistake, but no one bought it. Good times, good times.

This was probabbly the best move Rockstar could make atm. It will satify current fans, bring more in as well as help make the community overall wait for gta 6.
I hope Rockstar has been watching all these unofficial remasters and taking notes! If they can get close to any of those and add just a little bit of Rockstar sauce , life will be complete!

As a 20year PlayStation guy, recently made the switch to xbox series x... I hope San Andreas gets the ps2 iconic orange lighting. I don't want much changed about the older games, just slightly sharpened up graphics, faster loading times - it was annoying driving at high speed and the pixels of what is in front couldn't change quick enough. That would do for me.

God damn, GTA IV needs a remaster more than any other GTA! It looks godawful on consoles
It is *terribly, disgustingly* poorly optimised for PC, and has been that way since launch, it is a comedy of errors!
The only recent saving grace is the 60fps on XSX
IV has so much potential with a remaster, I would much prefer this to remaster than any other game.
Beyond all this, I think 3 and VC would benefit from remasters with quality of life improvements such as no loading when crossing islands
But still, since it's a remaster and not a remake, it very likely won't be running on the RAGE/euphoria engine which is all I ever wanted out of an updated version of any of these three games.
But you can play iv backwards compatible, it looks and plays like heaven

@@SkydrawnIV IV should get a massive upgrade live V is getting for the second time in a row now. 4k with HDR the city would look unbelievable at night. Might give the younger players a chance to get into it and hopefully the series can go back to a more serious direction like IV.
@@OCSmoke8 I don't see a remaster of IV happening considering Rockstar wouldn't want two HD Universe games competing it sales and GTA IV was poorly optimized which is why it doesn't run well on the PC

we actually got a full liberty city stories pc fan port and it plays like a charm i've beaten it twice on pc

I got both the Series S and a PS5. It wasn't too hard to get them.
GTA has been apart of my life since childhood and will always be apart of my life. It feels nice to know that Rockstar hasn't forgotten older fans and hopefully these will be games with vast places to explore, many things to do as well as interiors. Patiently waiting and hoping for the best 💛

Biggest thing I'd like to see is some extra missions and stories to these. Also, adding in the story variants of 3 and vc and then as time passes by between say lcs and 3 it shows the changes that happens during the couple years that each game has between and same for vcs and vc

My hope for this is to include a lot of the cut content (including online which was cut from gta sa) fixes to a lot of outdated gameplay mechanics (mainly gunplay with cover systems). GTA Vice City and 3 need to get the SA treatment with customizability. It would really be incredible to fly to each city as any of the protagonists, but that's a bit of a stretch with some of the timelines.

@Tike Myson It's not confirmed but I think it's true because this year is GTA III's 20th anniversary so they could be planing something big because of that. As far as graphics go, I would prefer if they don't change too so that the games could still have their original art style and atmosphere. I am more interested in technical fixes like better draw distance (Very important in San Andreas ), better UI, native widescreen support and possibility to play at high fps without bugs
@Tike Myson I play San Andreas on PC with mods as well. I use widescreen fix and silent patch and I play with frame limiter turned on because it's the only way to not have bugs like slow swimming for example. I would like to play it without using any mods at all while having unlocked fps and if they are really remastering these games, they can make all this possible

I'll take a remaster of Gta 3, Vice City and San Andreas over Gta 6 anyday. At least it's not another lame Gta 5 update. It's something we are familiar with and something we all love but if this remaster with being completely reworked and redone with the unreal engine being added to the game then it's also something completely new and will no doubt be awesome!

They can't. They're PlayStation exclusives, but if you have a PS3, you can buy/play them on there.

Wouldn't it be neat if all games were in one collective game and you can switch between Tony, Tommy, and CJ like gta 5 character swap menus? The map would just swap right over to the appropriate city/storyline as players could switch characters. so you could play all stories at once/visit each city at once.
That wouldn't happen if it was 1 game then it would just be that you can choose from the main menu like gta iv
@@bigboi1061 Yeah but keep in mind that it can be similar to swapping 3 characters (each be unlocked as u pass from one game to anothe).
@CatWithAMohawk Nobody will care except for you. The game can start from VC -> SA -> LC games. Now, so that u don't cry over this, we'll add a statement that says "the year 19??" for every final mission you done. That way, you can switch to any protagonist upon unlocking them like GTA 5. They'll be traveling into all 5 cities upon completion.

I've actually been on a PS2 GTA binge for the past few weeks. Beat 3 last Thursday and now I'm on Vice City. Didn't even realize it was the 20th anniversary, I was just feeling nostalgic.
If this news is true, kinda disappointed that I'll have to start over again so soon, but glad it's coming out. Maybe I'll just start San Andreas on the remaster after I beat Vice City here.

I think I know why Rockstar takes forever to release a PC version of a game. And I think it has a lot to do with the fact that all consoles have the same architecture so if someone has a vision that vision is set on console because they're locked boxes. where a PC there's different PCs of different types there's low end PC there's high end PCs etc and so they got to figure out a way to optimize it for a variety of PCs where on a console if you optimize for one console you optimize for all consoles because they all have the same architecture
That, and piracy is rampant on PC so their games will be purchased by more people on console as that is the only way to get the game, therefore avoiding losses in profits.
