its probably because he needs secrecy. Remember, Toreno told CJ to get Cesar to help him once but not to tell him anything about it. Its government business, its too dangerous for CJ to risk it considering he knew how powerful Toreno is.
He tried, but Sweet didn't wanna hear about it, when you release sweet from prison he tried to tell him about the casinos and stuff and sweet responded with " what have you done for the hood?" and when CJ tried to argue back that the hood dragged him down he told him "you sound just like Smoke now"
He probably knew Sweet wouldn't have been happy with it. I'd imagine he'd rather have a gruesome dead than living thanks to CJ covering up for Tenpenny
Fun fact about the gang territory is that if you're in a vehicle that has missions attached (emergency vehicles, taxi, broadway) u can activate the mission if your territory is being raided and it stops it. Cancel the vehicle mission and go back to your business. I just beat SA on ps4 this summer again and it still works.
Hahaha~ i wish i did that, that very helpful but i prefer not cuz i wanted back then to increase the color density of my territory its like increasing your influence and more gang will spawn, but yeah its annoying and worthless because my gangs is useless in gunfights even their weapon is shtty lol....but atleast it will regenerate my money fast so stayed long before i go to the country side, ya know lol i didnt know that cheat code exist, i played and finish this game in ps2 with no cheats i cant count how many death i had...damn i remember the mission how to fly...its super hard its a nightmare! How many times i swear back then lol i love this game its nostalgic.
GTA San Andreas has introduced me to so many things. All kinds of music, movies, and much much more. I’ve been playing this game since I was in high school and I can seriously say this is one of my favorite games of all time. San Andreas is a masterpiece!
The secret couchplay multiplayer was kind of fun when I was a kid. Messing around exploring the countryside attacking area 51. Tho it was annoying how you had to stay close to each other.
There was a cool glitch where if the second player got a katana & kills CJ you can play with a headless CJ that gushes out blood when driving. Hilarious finding this out randomly as a kid
For everyone getting annoyed by the Big Smoke train mission, you should know that Smoke literally has perfect aim, you're just driving too close to the train so he can't get a proper shot at any of the Vagos.
I always went up the ramps that appear a bit down the tracks on the left that go up to a small building, get off the bike, jump on top of the train, then kill them myself. You have to do it a bit quick though cause there's an overpass that will knock you off the train a bit further ahead.
… people get so close that Smoke shoots the train? And then complain about it? Is that serious or are you making it up? I never had problems with the mission. I liked chasing the train and tried different things. Like many (at least I assume I’m not one of the few) I just jumped on top with the bike and gunned them down myself. I really has to lose the train somehow to fail it.
GTA Should all be set in the past. GTA 4 did current time perfectly. GTA 5 did current time as a meme which didn't age well. They should do gta 6 in the 80s but nope another current day meme. Sadly i dont think rockstar will ever be able to recreate a game like this.
@@Catalanskrrthe entire damn game was hyperbole satire on American culture as a whole. Every. Part. Vice city glorifies the Scarface fantasy, SA glorifies gangbanging, 5 glorifies American idiocy. Made by a European Company btw. The whole game was literally just Rockstar talking shit about American culture while having no idea about any of it, same for red dead 2. Big part of why I don't like the modern games, rather than glorify they ridicule.
@kronicOverseer that's kinda the point of gta... San Andreas and vice city are very exaggerated and ridiculous at times. They're all good for different reasons
It still feels huge. It was unreal. Had a bigger feel than gta 5 due to 3 cities split by countryside and the clever way the draw distance and things popped into view. Due to console limitations. Plus the fog.
Like it felt so expansive to the point where I felt like we were seeing glimpses of the future for the franchise, I mean my god the scale that the map had was so ginormous, it's no surprise, people such as myself spent countless hours on it for years and years
I heard the line so many times and just now realized how funny it is when Ryder was stickkng up the pizza place: "Ryder, not this again" "It aint me fool"
I did not expect to see a clip of my CJ mod for Yakuza 0 in this one. I was already enjoying watching the video but that bit made it even better! Great work on making such awesome content, I love your videos!
Great video! That supply lines mission gave me flashbacks 😂😂 when should I expect a GTA 6 trailer video? Your comment on Claude and Catalina being the inspiration for Jason and Lucia had me intrigued. 🤔
My favourite game ever. Nothing will ever ever top this masterpiece. The map, for me, is still perfect, not only in variety, but also in size. It still feels huge when cruising from Los Santos to Back'o'Beyond. Let's not forget all the mysteries surrounding this game; Yeti, UFO's, the ghost girl in the desert, Leatherface, the mysterious phone call near the aircraft graveyard, the ominous blue lights from the church where you steal the harvester... This was more than a game, it was a world of its own. I know the map better than my hometown lmao. The radio stations, the absurd number of side activities... The orange and purple sky that makes you feel like you're in California. While GTAIV has grown a lot on me after initially hating it, it lacks the wackiness and variety of San Andreas. Best game ever!!
I was obsessed with this game back in the day but its only now that i realize what an absolute star studded cast this had. Samuel L Jackson, Chris Penn, James Woods, Peter Fonda, Ice-T, Charlie Murphy, David Cross, William Fichtner, Axl Rose, Danny Dyer. I always knew that they had some big names in every title but as i went down the list proper i was blown away at some that i didnt even realize when i was 14-15 playing, like Axl Rose a radio host or Peter Fonda as The Truth. Thanks for making this, it was an awesome trip down memory lane! Well done sir!
44:16 The way CJ yells "Holy Shit!" while watching chaos unfolds is so priceless. It's a small detail you could miss easily. And practically, also my first reaction when I first saw Catalina in this game.
I spent an entire 2 week school break beating this game I don't think I left my room..I still try to relive the joy it gave me through recent playthroughs but it's never quite the same.
San Andreas had alot of messages and points to keeping your family and your neighborhood on the right morals and principles in life. It showed what happens when you get to much money and power, it will make you so crazy things. But my point is, i feel like the creators we’re trying to push a message
I always thought Tenpenny leaving Pulaski to kill you was him letting you live and getting rid of Pulaski at the same time. I think he has a little respect for CJ at least more than for his lackey Pulaski.
I don't really think tenpenny ever intended to kill CJ before he dealt with Smoke. CJ kills smoke, tenpenny kills CJ, his fellow officers are also dead, no loose ends.
@@unsoundmusic8348 Nah, he wanted to keep doing business with smoke, they were making major money, the only reason tenpenny takes the the money and flees is because of the riots which were caused by him being acquitted for some of his crimes. He didn't plan on betraying smoke imo.
This game was so ahead of it time it was crazy... To this day I played every console release of it and platinumed it twice. Vice city is also very dear to my heart.
i recently noticed during the intro cutscene when the cops drop cj off you can hear the murder of the police officer they’re framing him for come through the radio, further indicating tenpenny and pulaski are dirty. Small detail tbh, i don’t know how i didn’t notice until now
Great retrospect for an amazing game I love how you called out Torino being a government agent flooding the streets with drugs with taxpayers dollars then sarcastically say that would never happen in real life things like that make the game a masterpiece replayable it's a shame what they've done with the definitive Editions
Why would they hide it? The industry back in the ps2 era didn't had this shitty obsession about secret projects and hiding stuff that happened during development. Specially since dev cycle was lightning fast.
I like to think that smoke was waiting for sweet to go to his moms Home after the funeral so he can kill him. This explains the líne "You picked the wrong house, fool". Also, it's explained that the drive by that killed cjs mom was intended to kill sweet, so this makes sence
One of the few videos i watched back to back that's this long, excluding podcasts. The nostalgia trip was so much i feel it in my chest. Amaznig. Subbed
I appreciate the hard work for this quality content man! I hope you'll cover the spinoffs such as Vice City Stories, Libery Stories, and Chinatown Wars.
I come from a rural area and it was so cool driving around in trucks and stuff in the countryside. My dad was a teenager at the time set in the game and thought it was cool watching me play around in a time he was familiar with. He loved the music too
I really hope this video and your channel blow up. You put so much work into your videos and the quality is remarkable for a RUclipsr with less than 10k subscribers. Thank you man!
I hear a song on the radio and start singing to it. My husband knows now instead of asking "You know this song?" He just says "You know this from GTA or Guitar Hero right?" And I say, "YEP." 😆
That entire homecoming sequence is iconic and probably the best part of the best game in the series. Smoke, in particular (I will always hate him for his selfish betrayal of The Grove and my mom) has an unforgettable intro.
Great video! This will always be my favorite gta. I just finished a 100% playthrough of SA last month after years of not being able to run the game on modern hardware. (Thanks to TGIM for making that possible) It was like being high on drugs, good times! 😂
Amazing video as per usual, it’s nice to just sit back, relax and remember all these missions all those years ago! Definitely recommend GTA VCS & GTA LCS if you’re a fan of the series like i think you are.
Just finished the video a year after its release, and a few weeks from the release of the first GTA 6 trailer. I wonder where will we be 20 years from now! I hope youre preparing that video! hahah One thing that I always remember from that game are the awesome radio stations. Really good track selection, and also famous hosts, like Axl Rose. It all felt really alive, because as you progressed in the story, the radio hosts would mention it somehow, I remember that being such a nice feeling!
Honestly this game was the most complete GTA game/story ever made. Yeah, some of the subsequent games had great bells and whistles (fun gameplay features), but the vibe and spirit of this game was equal to Vice City. I'd argue the story was slightly better because it was more intricate and you really felt how hard CJ worked to truly take over and be both legit and a gangster. Even as a kid, I didn't feel the need to rush through the game and could take my time to enjoy it. And yes, WOOZIE was my favorite friend of CJ's.
I'd like to point out something you missed about the Cluckin' Bell mission. Big Smoke's order is so large because he's buying time for the Ballas to catch up to them.
Hey. Found your channel by happenstance. Your mix quality was great, the review was palatable even with its length, and I enjoyed your personal and objective opinions about the game. It gave me an appreciation for GTA SA I never had. You deserve a break in January.
one of the best games ever made. i play through it at least once every year. i'm such a mark for that game i bought the switch release day 1, played the absolute crap out of it, and LOVED EVERY SECOND. i also have it on android, where i've played through it more than once. i bought a bluetooth controller just for that game so i could play it "portable".
I just wanted say, I'm new to your channel. Literally found it a few days ago and have watched all your gta retrospectives. You are great, I like the way you're structured and how you explain everything. Great work!
Great video! This is the game I have more hours on, I completed this game main history more than 25 times, and to 100% completion more than 5 times, as I played in multiplatform, including mobile eheheh. Just to say that the second asset mission on Zero, where you complain about running out on fuel, you don't need to throttle everytime, you can simply accelarate a bit and then let go so the plane can glide, which does not uses fuel. I hope you continue the good work! Cheers!
in many ways this game has yet to be topped. its atmosphere, characters, customizable protagonist, licensed soundtrack (all genres represented perfently), story and most importantly atmosphere/vibe come together to form an unmatched experience
I think that people know how good GTA SA is, that's why they don't analyze it or somebody analyze it saying it's bad for easy views. As for the story, as far as I've seen on the Internet, everything that was cut due to lack of memory on one CD is nothing but a tragedy, and yet again whenever I play GTA SA everything gets better and I remember why I live and that life is cool sometimes.
My favorite part of the original release is the gangs everywhere glitch. Don't know why they patched it out but it sucks every release after that didn't have it. It allowed the gang turf mechanic to spread across the world and even unlocked "cut content" in the form of different gangs in San Fierro and Las Venturas.
I absolutely love the writing of GTA4 and yes GTA 5 sold a crap ton and earned millions but San Andreas is legendary in the entire gaming history and the future of gaming as well, that game is an emotion
Damn, the feels are very strong here. I have beaten that game like 20-30 times, have done everything there is to do here(except those modes, cheats and other stuff that I just wasn´t able to do, because didn´t know them). But I have done everything there is to do in that game, even at 1 point created my own missions. Like going somewhere and then killing people or escaping from the cops/ driving from point A to B for some time and so on. At one point I even knew all of the map, every damn place. That´s how much I had played it. Have found all of the shells, tags and so on side missions(but it took a loooot of time to complete everything). I can´t even explain how much I love that game. And that´s the only GTA I have beaten. In Vice City I had struggles at one point and stopped playing around the middle of the story and also have played 3 and 5, but very little. Somehow they weren´t so interesting to me. But that game is just perfect. I think it wouldn´t be exaduration to say that I must have spend maybe like 10 000 hours in it, if not more. Had played it since I was around 10, till about few years ago(now I´m 29). Like a whole 2 decades and it never got boring. Well, sometimes it got boring, but that´s where I started doing my own missions and things and there was always something new to be done.
This was a great video wow. Thank you. Your view counts on your videos are really awesome for the amount of subs you have. Your channel is a perfect example of good quality videos. I could definitely learn a thing or two from you.
still the best gta game ever made i replayed it multiple time over different console and many years and still find it engaging and funny the chrchters are the best ever written cj, big smoke tenpenny the truth i still remember every single one of them compare to the last gta where i can remeber only trevor and only becasue he is an insane psyco
I've seen a lot of people up the english speaking north have Vice City as the game that really takes them back, with the colours, music, atmosphere and all. I'm pretty certain San Andreas is that for latinamericans. Myths everywhere, people being hearthbroken over Smoke and Ryder, having a large variety in music to fit any taste, mods for whatever you could imagine, RUclips series about the game with the Loquendo text-to-speech app. My favourite GTA and one of my favourite games in general
Fun fact. The Madd Dogg mission will be impossible to complete if you cheat the game using mods up to that point. Madd Dogg will always fall to his death. Its some sort of save corruption or something from what I'm aware but its a funny soft lock non the less and pretty fun fact. I had it happen to me when I was modding mobile with cleo. It also happened on PC one time.
This is an overall Soild retrospective of GTA San Andreas Although I noticed that during the San Fierro portion, you Omitted the Garage missions that take place after you complete both The Driving school & Yay-Ka-Boom-Boom
Ill never forget picking this up when it came out. I was the only person in my friend group eith a good job, n picked up a copy for us all to play n share. @@wasabi5338 he could literally just saying he went through the deepest places of hell just to help him
He tried, but Sweet didn't wanna hear about it, when you release sweet from prison he tried to tell him about the casinos and stuff and sweet responded with " what have you done for the hood?" and when CJ tried to argue back that the hood dragged him down he told him "you sound just like Smoke now"
He probably knew Sweet wouldn't have been happy with it. I'd imagine he'd rather have a gruesome dead than living thanks to CJ covering up for Tenpenny
It's because the writers didn't think that far
Woozie was by far the most endearing and likeable character.
I live how his bodyguard moves the goal for him when he’s playing putt putt.
I've been playing this game for 18 years and I never knew that. Thanks a lot, man!
@@DeadPixel1105 no prob

Whoa!! I wish I knew this all these years!!! Thanks
Still the best GTA of all time. GTA: IV comes in at a close second, but San Andreas is just legendary.
GTA San Andreas has introduced me to so many things. All kinds of music, movies, and much much more. I’ve been playing this game since I was in high school and I can seriously say this is one of my favorite games of all time. San Andreas is a masterpiece!
It was a true game of American culture
I remember playing GTA 2 when I was pretty young thinking it was so much fun. Little did I know it was going to turn into these deep 3D games.
the popularity of San Andreas all across eastern europe all the way up until 2010's was INSANE
San Andreas: Multiplayer was just fantastic though

The secret couchplay multiplayer was kind of fun when I was a kid. Messing around exploring the countryside attacking area 51. Tho it was annoying how you had to stay close to each other.
That shit was the best just having it blew us away.
There was a cool glitch where if the second player got a katana & kills CJ you can play with a headless CJ that gushes out blood when driving. Hilarious finding this out randomly as a kid
Woozie really is a gem and he never fails to get a laugh out of me
Woozie ain't got nothing on truth😂tbh
Woozie and toreno are my favorite characters. I honestly felt the writing in sa wasnt as good as vice city but those guys make up for it.
San Andreas is a masterpiece. Unforgettable game.
MISSION PASSED:
RESPECT +
My roommate legit loves this game. We go back and forth between discussing GTA V and this
For everyone getting annoyed by the Big Smoke train mission, you should know that Smoke literally has perfect aim, you're just driving too close to the train so he can't get a proper shot at any of the Vagos.
@L I knew this as a kid (Like 7 years old), not because of game knowledge no it's basic physics
I always went up the ramps that appear a bit down the tracks on the left that go up to a small building, get off the bike, jump on top of the train, then kill them myself. You have to do it a bit quick though cause there's an overpass that will knock you off the train a bit further ahead.
It’s also because the Vagos has more health than usual, so even if Smoke was perfectly accurate, he’s still take forever to kill them
For real that mission is easy to complete for me
… people get so close that Smoke shoots the train? And then complain about it? Is that serious or are you making it up?
I never had problems with the mission. I liked chasing the train and tried different things. Like many (at least I assume I’m not one of the few) I just jumped on top with the bike and gunned them down myself. I really has to lose the train somehow to fail it.
There’s just a special kind of atmosphere in San Andreas. If they were able to kinda replicate this, I would be so damn happy.
GTA Should all be set in the past. GTA 4 did current time perfectly. GTA 5 did current time as a meme which didn't age well. They should do gta 6 in the 80s but nope another current day meme. Sadly i dont think rockstar will ever be able to recreate a game like this.
@@abrahamwashington8579 why meme? Gta 5 portrayed the modern times very well, even tho it was a bit exaggerated
@@Catalanskrra bit?
I remember the first time I played San Andreas, the map felt huge!!!!! I felt so overwhelmed coming from vice city
It still feels huge. It was unreal. Had a bigger feel than gta 5 due to 3 cities split by countryside and the clever way the draw distance and things popped into view. Due to console limitations. Plus the fog.
I freaking loved the customization. Plus the side stuff like dating
@@bensmithkent22 plus the tiny small towns as well around the whole map. It’s the best game ever made
I couldn’t afford a ps2 growing up.
But went to a friends house and played.
The world felt infinite!!!
Like it felt so expansive to the point where I felt like we were seeing glimpses of the future for the franchise, I mean my god the scale that the map had was so ginormous, it's no surprise, people such as myself spent countless hours on it for years and years
I heard the line so many times and just now realized how funny it is when Ryder was stickkng up the pizza place:
"Ryder, not this again"
"It aint me fool"
"No one else is that small, I feel sorry for yer dad!"
You can't stop me!!! (slurred as all fuck)

Heey my PS2 trailer video on the intro, I didn't expect that when i was watching the video, I was shock! Good video Fuzzy, that was fun.
Just finished... Can't imagine the work that went into this. Thank you for walking me though these memories. 🙏🏻
Voiceover was great!
The game voiced B Dup as well, small role but cool anyway

The way CJ yells "Holy Shit!" while watching chaos unfolds is so priceless. It's a small detail you could miss easily. And practically, also my first reaction when I first saw Catalina in this game.
Made me pull my ps2 back out and play this game. The good old dayz
When he was showing the scene where CJ and Big Smoke was sword fighting. I started wondering if I really smoked way too much weed back in the day.
I spent an entire 2 week school break beating this game I don't think I left my room..I still try to relive the joy it gave me through recent playthroughs but it's never quite the same.

Because you have good taste
I like the physics (mainly driving) and game mechanics of 4 over 5… but I like the location and map of 5 more.

Yes, I hold a fork with 3 fingers. How did you know?
V came out in 2013. I reckon by 2015 I realised 4 was superior.
@@unsoundmusic8348 Exactly
No way, CJ has to die, he knows way too much, but CJ gets in so deep and gets so connected, he outplays Tenpenny.
The fan theory about Ryder is very obviously true lmao. Rockstar never even tried to hide it.
Why would they hide it? The industry back in the ps2 era didn't had this shitty obsession about secret projects and hiding stuff that happened during development.
Specially since dev cycle was lightning fast.
Ryder originally wasn't supposed to be a traitor
It’s very obviously false, as in the beta versions Ryder is still a traitor. Just chalk it up to classic Rockstar bad writing and mission design
@@kman9884 If it all came down to shitty writing then they also violate their own lore on Ryder. Makes no sense at all.
That GTA 6 trailer dropped, you did ask to be reminded to make a video on it.
Enjoyed the video, San Andreas was always my favorite GTA game as a kid.
I like to think that smoke was waiting for sweet to go to his moms Home after the funeral so he can kill him. This explains the líne "You picked the wrong house, fool". Also, it's explained that the drive by that killed cjs mom was intended to kill sweet, so this makes sence

That entire homecoming sequence is iconic and probably the best part of the best game in the series. Smoke, in particular (I will always hate him for his selfish betrayal of The Grove and my mom) has an unforgettable intro.
I remember the emotions this game gave me as a child, played it for years
This brought me so much nostalgia ! Still the greatest GTA of all time! Way ahead of its time

Great video! This will always be my favorite gta. I just finished a 100% playthrough of SA last month after years of not being able to run the game on modern hardware. (Thanks to TGIM for making that possible) It was like being high on drugs, good times! 😂
Grand Theft Auto San Andreas is home.
How did I not know about Tony Hawk announcing GTA: San Andreas?! Those were two of my absolute favorite things on the PS2!
tony hawk underground 2 and gta sa goty 2004
Amazing video as per usual, it’s nice to just sit back, relax and remember all these missions all those years ago! Definitely recommend GTA VCS & GTA LCS if you’re a fan of the series like i think you are.
Just finished the video a year after its release, and a few weeks from the release of the first GTA 6 trailer. I wonder where will we be 20 years from now! I hope youre preparing that video! hahah
One thing that I always remember from that game are the awesome radio stations.
And yes, WOOZIE was my favorite friend of CJ's.
the best gta indeed
Cheers!
This went in my best long form playlist immediately
Best game of all time. Beautiful video man, outstanding job
Best game ever made, hasn't been done right or capitalized on since.
in many ways this game has yet to be topped. its atmosphere, characters, customizable protagonist, licensed soundtrack (all genres represented perfently), story and most importantly atmosphere/vibe come together to form an unmatched experience
Damn... It has been 18 years? God damn.
I myself am like some 20 years only. I was like 2 years when it got released.
Dude just casually creates the best longform content on the platform
I think that people know how good GTA SA is, that's why they don't analyze it or somebody analyze it saying it's bad for easy views. As for the story, as far as I've seen on the Internet, everything that was cut due to lack of memory on one CD is nothing but a tragedy, and yet again whenever I play GTA SA everything gets better and I remember why I live and that life is cool sometimes.
I didnt know how much I needed Tony Hawk talking about GTA games thank you
you cant do the black project mission if cj is too fat, and the dialogue for it is pretty funny. basically the truth tells him to lose some weight
The things that went over my head as a kid; like looking for water I now know he was looking for some REAL drugs. 😂
My favorite game ever! I even have a Los Santos tattoo in my arm written with the same font used in the game.
still my fav game of all time... just got my kid onto it by bootlegging it on his psvita (not sure if that's a good or bad thing)... great video!
This game is so good I watched the whole video before realizing it's 2 hours long!
I wish i lived in the timeline where GTA online never happened and GTA 6, 7, and 8 were already released because of it.
OG Loc is the Jar Jar Binks of San Andreas
I never thought of that, but yeah: accurate.
Jar Jar could probably kick his ass though.
This is great content, thanks for your hard work!!
Love how you left a pause after saying "Pier 69" so the audience can say "Nice" out loud at the screen XD

The only flaw in gta San Andreas is the flight school and having to complete it to progress in the game in my opinion it should have been optional
