Rockstar Games has released the OFFICIAL trailer for the GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition! A remaster that is breathing fresh air into the worlds of GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas! With MANY new upgrades ranging from 4K capabilities, to GTA 5 inspired controls and hopefully the ability to swim in GTA 3 and Vice City after all these years! The GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition release date is set for November 11, 2021. I remember getting vice city I loved it it was my favourite cause it brings back memories me and dad would play well I would play and dad would watch when I was driving cause he loved the soundtrack! Was so happy when vice city came out because I’m from Australia and I remember walking into the shop and they released it earlier back when they didn’t have RUclips and we had the internet and all I would do was look up gta cheats so much that I still think I remember them r1 r2 l1 r2 left down right up left down right up for guns I’m pretty sure haha

The trilogy was about being 3d and fun, the HD Era was started in 4 so I think the cartoony look is pretty awesome. I like the art style.
Exactly. The cartoony look fits the artwork of the games as well as the actual vibes itself. People that complain that "it looks too cartoony" tend to forget that the 3D era GTA games were just that --- CARTOONY 😂 it didn't start getting serious until Niko Bellic came.

The graphics turned out roughly how I expected, but slightly better. I think they nailed it.
They did but the character models will take some getting used to in some cases. It simply lacks the subtly that the original ones had like Tommy's five o'clock shadow being too dark in the remaster

I think they did a good job at making the graphics look classic and modern at the same time.
It's a pile of crap for the price.
I love how they pretty much kept the style of the games didn't stray too far from the original DNA. They should feel the same as how they did back in the day and I can't wait to relive my childhood!

Just like you said Zac, everyone who isn't hyped for this didn't play these games when they released. These new-age gamers have it easy, and take classics like this for granted. They don't know about the countless hours of fun rolling around in the tank in Vice City and just wreaking havoc all over the city. I'm so excited. GTA San Andreas was the GTA 5 in the 2000s lol well it was my GTA I grew up to like GTA 5 is to younger people. I remember GTA 3 and Vice City but never beat them. I beat San Andreas lots of times.
The graphics are amazing in the definitive edition of the GTA Trilogy. They may not be the best but for a remaster, the graphics are amazing. Also audience. Remember these games are classics. GTA III was released in 2001. GTA VC was released in 2002. GTA SA was released in 2004. GTA SA is my childhood

The graphics has turned out exactly how I expected them to be. The emphasis on lighting has made a day-night difference especially in GTA III.
Vice City with its 80's style lighting would be visual treat to the oldies like me

I can't believe that it has been 20 years since I first played GTA 3 with my Brother in our (at the time) brand new PC! WOW, GTA 3 was mind blowing in 2001, not just because of the graphics but the story, and this is what made rockstar so unique...THE STORY was at the center of everything, the experience was the most important thing, great video man!, I will def play them in order!

I think people were silly to keep their hopes up for RDR2 style graphics, Especially after Rockstar's first official announcement. We always knew it would be a remaster not a remake, and considering that, I think they look alright

The OG fans are excited. I'm hyped, I really love what they did with it. Only thing that bothers me is that they done my boy Tommy dirty. But the rest of it looks great and pretty much what I was expecting from it. I just hope they put effort in to relicense the removed radio songs since this is kind of a big release so it might be worth it.

@Saifee Zaman Yeah, like CJ looks the same as the original, and Claude very similar. But Tommy almost looks like a completely different person, and he has no arm air.
Hopefully licensing isn't a problem, I'm sure they'd have done it if they think it's going to sell well and be worthwhile. Since it's like basically a new game, not like the other re-releases. But I heard it's difficult to license Michael Jackson songs now for example, ever since he passed away. We shall see.

I was so happy to see a positive video rather than all the premature criticism... I did not have any expectations and was blown away by the visual/gameplay improvements, as well as the little details. It's the salt and pepper on top of the OG GTA's that I grew up with, and I am excited to dig into it again.
Yes, anyone who's looking for a modern day version of Los Santos, should go play GTA V, but if you appreciate and respect the Classics, then play the Trilogy....Peace

There a mainly 2 reasons it's because there just the back story's of the characters. Plus it's modern rockstar and they do these for money and the story's didn't do good money.
These are the exact kind of remasters I wanted, not all fancy rebuilt stuff but greatly improving on what was there and after seeing this I'm super stoked about its release! :D Thanks for all the info.

Everything you talked about, I 1000% agree with. I didn't even know this was coming out until the trailer. And as someone born in the late 80's, and playing GTA 3 and Vice City on Ps2. I can definitely appreciate this.
I grew up on VC and SA, and they'll be in my heart forever. I'm excited for the remastered editions, and I hope them to be something that we all love, but never to replace the originals from their legendary status.
SA for me, not only is it still my favourite entry but it's being released day one on game pass :) Can't wait to play it on my SX but I will buy the definitive edition for the other 2 games.

These games look amazing, just wish people who learn the difference between remaster and remake. I'm honestly excited for this, to replay the games that helped me get through my teenage years in the early to mid 2000s in a new look. Can't wait!
It's not a remake but it's more than a remaster. The entire game has been ported to a newer engine with new gameplay mechanics controls and what not. Most remasters only go as far as a resolution/fps upgrade and slightly better textures.

The new remastered graphics is exactly what I thought these games looked like as a kid. I am going to play 3-VC-SA in that order and then chronologically so VC-SA-3. I am really excited I have only ever finished San Andreas so I am excited to play through 3 and VC.

I was one of the people kinda hoping for unrealistically better graphics (GTA V-esque) but I gotta say I think it looks great. If they nailed the controls I think this is gonna be a lot of fun.
They said the controls of the Trilogy will be the same as GTA V. and you know GTA V's controls are amazing.

I dont like that they took down so many good mods for this it doesn't look that bad for a mobile game but i feel like they would've definitely done way better for the console versions of The Trilogy

Ok I was searching up Wide Puttin and I came across one of may favorite Gta channels
The best comparison for me between the definitive trilogy and another game is Destroy All Humans!, they’ve kept the same core of the games but have updated them to play and look significantly better which as a fan of both franchises is the best of both worlds, they’ve kept the original art style but just updated the textures, lighting and mechanics which imo is THE best way to remaster them, the original art style for the trilogy was always cartoony and stylised it was never trying to go for full realism, having the same gameplay and controller layout as GTA 5 is perfect because that is the best control layout for the series imo

20% of the people ive seen (like myself) are just grateful we are getting remasters of our favourite games in the style they were originally released
20% are being toxic about the graphics and saying we HAVE to have gta 5 graphics despite the original games not even being in a realistic style
10% saying that they refuse to pay £60 ‘for something they already have’ (despite it being a completely different version of the games)
49% saying give us gta 6
1% is just a guy I saw earlier asking for a free upgrade because he already has san andreas on ps4
Honestly the only complaint I have is the slightly off putting character model for Tommy
i dnt get those who said they need realistic graphics lol this looks very realistic to me even gta 3 looks better than gta 4 now

It looks to me like they just upscaled the graphics of characters in San andreas instead of re-moddling them like vice city and gta3 disappointed in that.
Tommy was always supposed to look this way. Rockstar said they wanted Tommy be tall, have a 5-o'Clock shadow, and to resemble Michael Madsen off of Reservoir Dogs.

I was honestly just expected ports but with uncompressed textures, but they went as far out as you can with remasters, new lightning system, actual updated textures and models, even adding background details to cutscenes, if this is how the game looks I can't wait to see how the Gameplay changes come out feeling. I also wonder if the games are going to combine features, like having swimming in all 3 and having all the cheat codes from each game function in all 3 when applicable.
I'm definitely going to buy these games. I might wait to see someone playing then, as I'm afraid with the high pc demand on graphics card I might not be able to run them, or run at the minimum witch would be 30fps (my graphics card is Radeon RX 550 4GB DDR5).
But the first one I'm going to be playing will be San Andreas as there are a lot more things to do, and it is more realistic than the other two

I appreciate the new look. The increased draw distance is gonna be amazing!! I know they'll be by the book but it'd be nice to have another form of aircraft in 3 other than that dodo 🦤 lol
I believe a lot of the anger comes because those "new" games look exactly like the original ones after mods have been applied to them. Something which we could all do for "free". Additionally people didn't appreciate the fact that Rockstar and Take 2 took down all those mods which have been created and shared with the community for so many years. That's the real problem.
yea we could probably do it for free but the amount of system requirements to apply mods is pretty taxing and not all gamers have overkill systems. atleast rockstar is now officially making and offering a remaster of these games it obviously comes with optimized system reqs plus consoles could also indulge with the remastered versions including the switch so it will no longer be exclusive to pc players to experience graphical mods.
