- Rockstar Games is RUINING GTA and GTA 5 is 8 years old today!

The massive success of GTA Online is an amazing achievement. That same success is also ruining the landscape that Rockstar Games has built since 1997. Perhaps it's not Rockstar to blame but instead Take 2 Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar. Focused more on GTA Online and revenue has led the Grand Theft Auto series far off of the path that helped garner so much success and so many fans. Long time fans of Grand Theft Auto are left in the dust to new fans who've only played GTA 5 and support Shark Cards... I'm a bit biased there and that isn't entirely true. But with the current state of Rockstar it doesn't look like things will change. Many of the original big names that put Rockstar and GTA on the map are no longer there. Grand Theft Auto as we know it seems to be gone forever... Or headed that way at least.

Face it, the video games industry is no longer about passion for games. It's about making as much money as you can with the least effort.
I agree back in the day the only way of making money, was making a good product, now even Cyberbug 77 make millions and we better don't even talk about yearly edition games
@@budaroddy But Cyberpunk would've actually been good if it had been given more time in development. GTA 5 and pretty much everything Activision, EA and Ubisoft release are examples of what I'm talking about.

Rockstar is a fitting name for this company, because just like any other rock star, they started off being devoted to what they created and eventually let the desire for money get the best of them. And yeah, I know money is needed for making newer games, but this is just overkill. I hope GTA6 will be worth the wait, but my expectations for R* are lower now than ever before.

There was a time…many years ago…when I was young…when games never changed. Ever. You bought it. Never got anything else. No dlc. I’d say they gave a hell of a lot of value for the 60 bucks.

They can always base the GTA games off different time periods. I think it's about time we head back to the 80s or 90s. Hell, I'd take a GTA game set in the early 2000s at this point. Anything to get away from modern times.

I think its time for an HD 80s GTA game. It's long overdue.

This game can't handle anymore updates and Rockstar refuse to let that stop them until the game literally poops it's self and dies completely on it's own. It doesn't matter how many missions they remove it's a 2013 game it's 8 years old and outdated.

A masterpiece like GTA IV wouldn’t be possible without Dan Houser and Leslie Benzies… 😔 And I love that game so much, it’s my favourite GTA of all time, and my favourite videogame of all time… It has a story that seems so real and is so deep, so painful…
And we didn’t even had a 10 year celebration for that masterpiece… No iOS/Android port, no nothing… Only the deleting of the most eastern european songs from Vladivostok FM… ☹️
They rarely acknowledge that game’s existence and when they do, it’s just a spit in the face to the fans like how they handled Johnny in gta 5. It’s a shame because it’s my favourite gta as well

I remember back in 2012 when all GTA V was, was rumours, a few screenshots and a couple trailers, I watched a RUclips video where someone speculated GTA V would be more about money then past GTA’s based on the “V” logo. Turns out that was true…. in many many ways…
I was born in 1990. My 1st GTA game was GTA2 but the game that started it all and made me a long time GTA fan was vice city I agree they were so much different more different back then I loved the old rockstar. They would make a new game almost once a year or 2 years max expect a new game in the franchise. Nowadays expect a new game in 15 years. It so ridiculous the old rockstar was so beloved and they cared way more about the fans and not just the games they made. We ask we receive they took advice and ideas ect. Nowadays they take no advice they aren’t even an existing company anymore metaphorically speaking I definitely agree. I want the old rockstar back the once us longtime fans grew up with

check this out...back.then, we bought games and played them and that was the only revenue they had. When we bought it. They HAD to make another game to get more money.
Today, microtransactions and dlc costs and specifically with gta, shcarkcards.
If they're continuously getting money, why waste the time to .ake another game that MAY fail when they already have a winning formula?
or maybe why not take that winning formula and save, save, save, save then spend, spend, spend slowly making the most perfect game that none of us know about, but still wont release it until were all done pushing money into this current one?
Gta as of now...you should.honestly already know what to do. The game is old. And easy as hell to get into. and sharkcards push you up a bit.
I had gta 5 since its release, but only played online since this past june. Already tired of playing online since last week.
but every day I played through the months, there was some young kid BRAGGING about what sharkcards they got, how much money blah blah. And older sounding people who seemed to be around my age, in the 30s, and talking about carshows, and how .uch money they have and blah.blah.blah.
each were like levels 50s, 80s, maybe a few 100s anything more than that usually are just griefers or people who've played longer and didndt speak much.
But they keep pouring in money.
I grinded the whole point up to buying the kotska and a bunker and arcade. 2 to 3mths and I sont see the point of continuously putting money into it. But I heard chatter of kids and adults telling about buying another sharkcard.
What reason does gta. need to do anything?
Basically,dont blame rockstar. They brought us what we have. gta series is great. None of it sucks. They're all great in their time.
A d now, they're just giving us what we want. We tell them what we want with our purchases.
I told them I want a game to play online.I got that and I'm done. but MAJORITY of people tell them to not worry about making another game. they are completely fine with continuously putting money into this current one.

Take Two Interactive is responsible for me growing out of the Grand Theft Auto series. Maybe if people stop paying for anything GTA V, then we may see progress.
is it just me that generally has an attachment to once love for gta. and i feel very passionate about how rockstar was once loved and praised rightly. i miss being exicted for gta 5 online . i lost my interest. and its like i love games but every time i log on gta i feel a sense of dissapointment and sadness. i feel very emotional about it. anyone else maybe u?

This company/franchise as we knew it is dead.
When Dan Houser and Leslie Bensies left it was clear that the company and franchise is dead.
All they are doing is milking GTA Online for all its worth until it blows up and everyone else realizes they are a mere shell of their former self.
That last trailer tells you everything you need to know about this company; Explosive action? Seamless switching? Bruh, really?

I already gave up on Gta 6 years ago...so I am never really let down by these things.
It really does suck. GTA 5 was released when I was 13. Now I'm 21, and the game is still being sold. With hardly any big changes. Why would Rockstar and/or Take Two treat it as their one and only game? If they really want to keep putting it on every platform known demand, fine. But at the same time, make other games as well. Like, make Bully 2 or a new Midnight Club. Those would be amazing. Especially Midnight Club, because I loved that series _far_ more than GTA. Hell, why not they revive that cancelled Agent game? That would be a very big deal for Rockstar and Take Two. But no, they just want to focus on GTA 5 because of their greed for money... If GTA 5 Online never had microtransactions, things would've been very different for the companies. GTA 4 never had them, and yet, it grew to become a giant masterpiece. And it still holds up to this very day. Rockstar has all the money in the world to develop new games, so why aren't they making and announcing more? I hate how they pretty much left Red Dead 2 for their much older game... And RDR2 from what I heard was in development since I think 2013. Around when GTA 5 first launched. I wouldn't be surprised that GTA 5 gets re-released _again_ for the PS6 and future Xbox... Rockstar and Take Two are worse than Capcom and Bethesda. Even though they keep porting Resident Evil 4 and Skyrim to every platform, they are at the same time still making new games for us. Why won't Rockstar do the same? Greed can really consume your mind...
P.S. No offense, but hearing the sentence "GTA 6 is coming" really makes me feel very doubtful. I wouldn't be too sure that it's coming. I've been hearing about GTA 6 for like 5 years now. And there's still nothing in regards to it. GTA 6 by far is an unconfirmed game. Similar to how a Midnight Club revival is unconfirmed. I still _really_ want a new Midnight Club. But at the same time, it may never happen... GTA 6 would've been announced by now, if people have been claiming of it's existence for the past 5 years. It's kinda like going on for 10+ years saying that Agent is finally no longer a cancelled game. Again, I'm not being offensive, I just want you to understand. Don't justify that an unconfirmed game is going to come out. If anything, GTA 6 may not be coming out anytime soon. It's hurts to say, but it's true...

Correction: DMA Design was founded in the 80s by David Jones and Mike Dailly. R* was founded in 1998 and was born out of the ashes of the now-defunct BMG Interactive label whom the Houser brothers were employees of.
This is why I stuck to Vice City and the spinoffs, lol. V was overhyped and milked to death. The fact that they copped out and made Smuggler's Run a mere DLC for GTA online is hideous.

Hey Zac I know things are hard for you but things will get better. I like how the professional has been doing things with his channel by expanding to broader horizons with more games to discuss and playthrough. There's many games out there that you could cover. I love GTA but I love Mafia, Saints row, max payne, Assassins Creed, watch dogs there is too many games that I love an adore to list all of them but maybe it'd be good for you to expand ur channel into more games. Not telling you what to do just trying to help an give some sorta of creative advice :D

Yo Zac, you’ve seen my comments on your uploads before. I totally understand your emotional position on what others may consider “just a game”.
The GTA franchise has always allured me from an age that I shouldn’t have been playing it. I feel your pain, especially when you feel like your RUclips passion project is hampered by the long wait on a game that may never come, simply because communication to fans is non existent.
I truly believe the company is getting too greedy, forgetting their legacy that precedes the franchises reputation and is for the most part taking its loyal fans for a ride.
I want you to understand, we real fans experienced the golden era of GTA esque gaming when the art, creativity and passion were put into their games.

Why don't they just expand on GTAV and make single player expansions for Franklin, Trevor and Michael? I'd like to know more about each character we play as, Trevor's unhinged but there's got to be more to it than a tough upbringing, what happened with Michael before GTA V's story? Was he forced to do things for the FIB for a while before he went into witness protection? Franklin wants to make something of himself obviously, but how did him and Lamar Become friends and ultimately where does Simeon fit into this before the main story?
Origin stories can indeed go wrong, but so much is left unsaid about each character except that they know eachother by coincidence or long lasting friendships?
I'd love all of those tbh.

I'm gonna be honest, all this has made me loath GTA 5...I feel like Gta Online has murdered everything we know and love about the GTA series. Not just because it makes Rockstar drag their feet and not put anymore work in but also because I fear it's set a horrible practice of now developing GTA titles with the sole purpose of Online mode in mind..
Sadly I feel gone are the days of long deep epic story's and regular new City locations being released and here are the days of milking online mode for decades at a time and turning a once deep immersive gritty crime sim drama into a quick fast cheap arcade style far fetched Saints Row mutant.
I hope I'm proven wrong in the long run, I really do but I have my doubts

Just remember when you buy that Shark Card you are funding corporate greed and de-incentivizing Rockstar/T2 from releasing new original single player content.
Shark Cards ruined GTA but so did the people that bought them. You are all complicit in the downfall of Rockstar.
Why wouldn't Rockstar think they can release a lacklustre GTA V again when you're all buying Shark Cards.
