    Great breakdown of the Sherpa rack. I'm sold on it and going to use your light bar install video once I get that added too. Subscribed!

    Also, can bolts be pre-positioned on cross bars before installing the sideplates? This way, if you need stronger support or longer bolts, it can be done. Those T nuts a a bit small.

    Thanks, very helpful! I’m mostly sold. Just curious if there are any side mounts to easily load and haul a handful of long lumber from the top/side. Curious to know what others have done for this use case.

    Hey, tks for the video. About to buy a crestone. I already have one on my 99 4runner. Question - where did you get the stickers on door panels? Tks!

    I just bought the crestone rack from you guys and after our first big rain there was a lot of water in the rear drivers side where the jack is, I only noticed because I had the jack door open and had a towel sitting right outside the the jack door and it was soaked and then I looked inside the door and saw the water, I didn't apply any sealant on or around the mounting block and or bolts, as the Sherpa install video I watched didn't. My only thought is that maybe I tighten the mounting bolts too much?

    • @yotaxpedition
      @yotaxpedition  6 месяцев назад

      It's hard to say. Maybe you tightened them to much or not enough. If you want, take a bolts out and put silcone on them and re install it.

      Did you ever determine what caused this?

      @@iNeedTheCarry I tighten the bolts and hasn't leaked since. I think because my 4runner is 7 years old the bolts didn't go in as smooth/easy as they showed in the video and i was originally worried about tightening them too much, we shall see.

      @@hooekoo9307gotcha. I have a 2018 and I’m installing this roof rack next weekend. Any insight/tips? I’m assuming you didn’t use a torque wrench for those bolts?

    • @hooekoo9307
      @hooekoo9307 3 месяца назад

      @@iNeedTheCarry It's pretty straight forward, I followed the instructions from a video Sherpa had on youtube, its just in their video it looks like they barely had to tighten the bolts that secure the rack to the car, this is what confused me, because as they stated, you don't want to over tighten the bolts as this could deform the rubber washer/block, just use lock-tight and tighten till you see the rubber washer just barely start to deform and you should be good.

    Do you have another in stock for a 5th gen 4Runner? Great build and vid

      We don't have any on the shelf but if you place an order for one it will ship from Sherpa as soon as your roof rack is made. They are made to order and the lead time is about 1-3 weeks.

    You should also make things for , 2nd 3rd gen tacomas as well as the 4runner. Not everyone can afford those newer trucks.

      My personal vehicle is a 3rd gen 4Runner so I know what you mean but we as a company don't want to go back, we want to stay on top of the new models and thats enough by itself.
