Thank you for this opportunity, when I was a child I got apples, oranges and nuts sometimes candy canes. For my kids which are two girls and one boy. A crocheted all of their stockings to begin with. And then yes I would put candy canes and foiled wrapped chocolates in it. Plus for my son I would either put little cars or little boy toys in it. As for my girls I used to put hair bows, nail polish and a bunch of bracelets for them. God bless you and have a wonderful day.
I never filled stockings, but now I moved from Europe to America and this Christmas will be my first time filling stocking for the kids and us. I love the idea
My dad always put those in our stockings; they were the M&M’s ones. I can’t resist getting those for my kids because it reminds me of my dad, who passed away a few years ago. It makes me feel like he’s snuck them in our stockings. 💕
I like to put a little candy in and now a scarf, cowl or hat. This year I made my hubby a nice cowl for clearing the snow. He can pull it over his mouth and nose but it’s 46f here in January. Lol I’m not complaining. Pencils, crayons, hot wheels, legos, hair ties, little dolls were all go to items when the kids were little that’s what he left in our kids stockings when they were little.
My husband and I couldn't have children...(not for the lack of trying), but we were blessed with many, many nieces and nephews (over 190 now.) My go too stocking stuffers is Chocolate, little dolls, cars, chocolate, flash cards, crayons, chocolate, colouring books, toiletries, chocolate, make-up, candy and chocolate. And so much more. Love doing up stockings, this year they get a crocheted stocking (your pattern)..... I love them. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! 🌲🍭🎄🎍🎁🎉🎇✨🎆
Candy, fruit, nuts, hot wheels or action figures, hair accessories. The list stocking stuffers is endless. I love these hot pad/place mats. They are prefect. Thank you.
Hi Christa I miss making the stockings for my daughter when she was a little girl. But I put items in it like candy and gum and nuts and .God bless you and your family today and always.👍🏻🙋🏻♀️
Have not done stocking stuffers in years. My children are grown & live out of state. I use to put small toys, cookies, Christmas candies, & as they got older gift card to a favorite store.
This year I'm making crocheted hair scrunchies for my granddaughters and some lip balm and nail polish and pens and little note pads and things I have been saving for most of the year. I try to start putting up things for Christmas in January of the last year, by Christmas I have a lot of things saved up.
We haven’t stuffed stockings in a long time but this year we will have 5 of our grandchildren sleeping over so we will be stuffing! I bought candy shaped like candy canes, a little pink notebook for 2 of the girls and I’m definitely getting socks for my grandson. Not sure yet of what else I’m getting so I’m going to read the other responses for ideas. But I would say that candy was always our go to when our kids were growing up. And little LEGO toys as well. Merry Christmas Christa!
I put candy, lotion, chapstick, puzzle books, pens, battery toothbrush, cozy socks, small gadgets, small games, gift cards, earrings, hair stuff, small tools, ....in stockings. It is always fun trying to find cute and fun things.
My go-to stocking stuffers are candy and hot wheels. With all boys they love cars! There are also some tiny games that the kids love to play while the parents wake up and drink coffee before opening the gifts
Card games, small travel games, nail polish, make up, paddle ball, slinky, magic 8 ball, movie passes, bubbles, crayons, markers, water colors, small craft kits, and CANDY!
For my daughters I would put nail polish, fuzzy socks or chap stick for my sons I would put hockey pucks or lacrosse balls (they are hockey players and lacrosse players) mini LEGO figures or hockey cards.. those are my stocking stuffers. And their favorite candy.. great hot pads. I always make coasters or hot pads for relatives as well.
Haven't stuffed stockings for a long time, I remember packets of blank DVD's and some of his favourite shows, lollies, toys, the usual undies and socks. :)
You always did a great job. Its beautiful. In our country no tradition of strocking with gifts. But bcoz of holiday all family gatherning at my place and i made caps for kids and chocalate for them
I need these!!! My step kids are all adults, so we go for mini bottles of liqour or wine, a small tech gadget, treats, those odd office supplies you don't think to buy.
1 big piece of candy, toothbrush, and all of the little toys and/or hair things for girls and cars for boys. I also would add card games and travel size games.
I usually stuff stockings with fun size candy bars, silly little toys and candy canes. Thank you again, Christa! Loving all of your quick and easy projects tutorials. Your pointer thing helps me so much!
Each year we had things we would always put in our daughter's stocking along with other items that changed each year. The things we always put are socks, she loves getting socks, Terry's Orange Chocolate Ball, Chocolate Peanut M&M's and an iTunes card. Merry Christmas! 🎅🎄🎁
Hi Krista I'm just letting you know creative grandma is taking you and I love watching you happy crocheting showing all your awesome thing I've made a couple of your things thank you
I rarely, if ever, got a stocking as a child. My adult stocking would have lipstick or lip gloss, some candy and maybe a gift card. I was looking forward to seeing this hot pad!
I like to keep the tradition my mother did with my siblings and myself, I did with my kids and now with my grandchildren. An orange, an apple, a candy cane, some candy and nuts, a coloring book, crayons, socks and small toys.
My go to stocking stuffer is coloring book and crayons. My kids are 38, 34 and 30. They still expect a coloring book and crayons for christmas as it is a family tradition
Chapstick, hair ties, matchbox cars, and little things like that then an orange and some candies. That is what I used to wake up to when I was a kid too. Carry on the tradition lol
We had 5 kids, all grown now, we always put an apple, orange, nuts, a little candy, a small toy, and socks/underwear. As adults, for the ones that are going to be home for Christmas and their significant other, we do stockings that follow the same tradition minus the socks/underwear. I have 9 stockings on my fireplace this year!
For stocking suffers I use is for my girls makeup or jewelry....my son's was match box cars or small toys....for all a new toothbrush, floss, and some candy. Loves these hot pads going to make some of these cause I always need them.
In the Netherlands we have Sinterklaas which is the 5th of december. Then the children place their shoe in front of the fireplace and sing. My kids are older now so they don't sing anymore but I always put a delicious decorated chocolat letter in their shoes.
One of the things I did for my sister's step daughter's one year, was I took a ball of yarn and wrapped up all kinds of neat little things inside it. With the middle having some $$ money inside it for them to spend on anything they wanted. I wrapped little candies, hand lotion, earrings, bracelets, chapstick, gum, McDonald's gift certificates, etc..and I also included a crochet hook at the end of it...with a beginner book on crochet (I think...or I would now for sure). The dollar shop like stores are a great place to find some things to put inside the ball of yarn. This would also work now for the saran wrap game that some of them are playing now
his such a nice and easy go to pattern for a quick project! I love it Christa! My go to stocking stuffers are toothbrushes and nuts, large oranges and apples, and candy canes. My mom started this when I was a lil girl and I did it for my kids and they now do it for their kids. There was always a note from Santa.
My 4 children are ages 31-39 and they still want a stocking every Christmas. My youngest daughter is 33 and she tells me every year that her stocking is what she looks forward to the most. She lives in Texas and I live in Tennessee now so I have to wrap her stocking stuff so she doesn’t see it when she fills her stocking. I put hair items, makeup, body lotions and washes, perfume, candy and gum, jewelry, etc. The girls are easy. My son is my youngest and it’s hard to think of stuff. Luckily his wife helps with his.
So, we always have a variety of cool! A neat game , my favorite is a good heavy set of Jax! Little trinkets that you'd never get yourself. a boat load of your favorite andy(s) GIANT ROUND CANDY CANE STICKS Color crayons n color book And Always fruit & nuts! Yes, a big fat orange, apple, and walnuts. Then there was always a surprise element of the WOW kind. Something you wanted and Santa brought it while being sneaky and putting in the Stocking ,not under the tree! We didn't get our stocking until everything else was done~
I put all sorts of things in goodie bags or stockings! We usually put favorite candy, favorite pens or markers and other little art supplies, notepads, stickers, a stuffie or small toys, etc. For some .... Crochet everything ...whatever fits. LOL :) *It always fits because we get the big ones.
We don't have a Christmas stockings tradition here in the Netherlands (we do have a similar tradition for "Sinterklaas" where kids can leave their shoe at the chimney), but my favorite small things to give are chocolates, luxury care products in mini/travel size, keychains, fun notions.
Santa always left candy canes hanging from the children's stockings and inside batteries of needed, life saver books, little book or movie, socks, hair ties for my daughter. The extras for my son would be matchbox cars, Jack's card games or small hand held game. Merry Christmas may you all have a Happy and Healthy New Year. Good luck everyone 🎄🎅🤶🦌🎁☃️❄⛸🛷😊💖
Hello, I have always stuffed my children's stocking with a chocolate, some colorful nice smelling soap, stickers, colorful pens, small art pads, drawing pencils, and cute shaped erasers. I added a little personalized bag to keep all their things portable.
My son's older now , I used to put , cars, soft toys, action figures, books, lollies , chocolate, any little cheaper toys. Thanks for the giveaway & have a lovely Xmas xx 🎄❄☃
I fill the stockings with practical toiletry stuff and favorite candy/food. My son-in-law likes figs so I get a special bag of his favorites. It really fills the stocking. I love your color choices. I would like to make some chair pads using this design and two strands. Blessings to you and your family!
I’m super excited about this pattern! My young boys love little cars and flashlights. I always put candy in their stockings but they don’t really eat it. Last year my husband put 6 hand sanitizers in my stocking and it was hilarious but we’ve used them all (he’s very practical). We got some little puzzles and stickers for their stockings this year. My mom puts DVDs in my teenage brothers’ stockings, plus gloves and hand warmers for the Klondike Derby my brothers go to every winter. My teenage nieces get Nutella in their stockings every year as a super treat. 🎄
Christa, thank you so much for the wonderful tutorials and the giveaway opportunity. Stocking stuffers... candy of course and random items from Dollar Store.
I just made my nephew's stockings I had to put a few small bits inside so I got bath bombs as they love them I got Christmas pencils chocolate coins and a book just hope they like them XX
Thanx for this opportunity. As children our stockings were filled with fruit like oranges and apples along with whole un shelled nuts and coins. Maybe a very small toy or hair ribbons but the stockings overflowed As we got older we still got coins and maybe a couple of dollar bills, fruit and nuts in far less quantity (maybe 1 orange and a handful of mixed shell on nuts) but the stockings were not as full. As we got older still we might get socks and underwear. When we became adults, maybe a gift certificate for a book store, or a pair of earrings. As adults we get and give so much less because we celebrate the birth of our Savior and being with family is the best gift ever. The stockings are more for decoration now, if we put them out at all.
For friends my favorite little gift/stocking stuffer is homemade dishcloths. For children, I love to put in hot wheels for boys and "play" make up for girls.
Great easy, quick pattern. This is the first tutorial I have done of yours. You are a great teacher! I will definitely check out more of your tutorials. Thanks!
I never had children (not by choice), so I never had the chance to fill stockings, however, a few years, I filled a Christmas bag for my mother and I always put a book of her favorite author in the bag with lots of other things.
I understand about not having children. I was told later in my life that I could have kids but I probably have health problems like me. My doctor said that most likely if on of my children ended up with a cleft palate,it could go either way really bad or not so bad. I would have to watch throughout my pregnancy because I would be a high risk pregnancy do to my health problems and So I decided that I didn't want to any of children through the pain, heartbreak, heartache and I didn't want to go through the pain that my parents went through and fact that I still have a cleft palate. So I made the decision with my doctor and my family not to have kids. So I started to loom knit scrubbies then year later I learn to crochet. So I'm making these and the coasters to give as Christmas gifts. Which my mom already has 2 of these that she making in video.
I like to put anything that is $1 or less in the stockings for Christmas.Like 🍬 candy, Pkg of 🍪 cookies, or some personal hygiene products or maybe a little toy or 2 . I love these hot pot pads they make great last-minute Christmas gifts.

I love this table runner! We always put candy and whole nuts in stockings. Small toys, coloring books, story books, etc for the little ones; puzzle books, hand cream, special soap, candles, fishing lures, etc for the adults. Merry Christmas to one and all! God Bless you!!!!! 💜💜
I absolutely love your place Matt's and coasters. My stockings were stuffed with apples oranges and nuts that were not shelled. A tool to crack nits and socks.
I'm putting bath crayons, candy, lip gloss and nail polish in stockings for my little girls😍

For girls, little scented and slightly tinted lip balm and for boys, you can't go wrong with match box cars! These mats are great! I'll be doing some soon.
Thanks and Happy Christmas! 🌲🎅🏾👼🏾🤶🏽🌲
Yay!! The matching hot pad!! Love it!! Thank you! I put the same thing my parents put into my stocking as a kid in my children's stockings, oranges and unshelled various nuts and then various goodies. Sometimes specialty socks too.
We always had an apple and an orange in the toe of our stocking. Also crayons and coloring book so that's what I did for my boys. I put a Tootsie Roll Bank in it too.
