- "It's the melancholy, minor-key, heart-wrenching songs that always stick out and really intrigue me," Philip Anselmo told Revolver about his new project En Minor. Having recently released their debut 7-inch ahead of the group's performance at this year's Psycho Las Vegas, the self-described "depression core" outfit has teamed with Revolver to unveil video of a beautifully mellow, mostly acoustic rehearsal performance of the song "On the Floor," filmed at Anselmo's home and barn studio, Nödferatu's Lair, just outside of New Orleans. Here, we proudly present the sixth episode of our "No Distortion" series, which features heavy-music artists switching off their amps, stripping down songs and showcasing their more introspective side.

I was never a big Type O Negative fan (though I do like a few of their songs). Peter Steele was an awesome dude. Just a really funny and down to earth kinda guy, I would've loved to have a drink with. It's such a shame what happened to him. I was in rehab when I heard he passed away. I know he didn't OD but I knew about his alcoholism and cocaine addiction had at the least been a part of his death, being so young. It was a cruel reminder of how life can be taken away from you in a whim. RIP Big Man.
Heavy music doesnt have to be distorted. This is the best example for it. The mood, vocals and lyrics just pull you under. In a good way. Cant wait for the damn Album anymore 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

goddammit Phil is the man. he's always creating for the sake of music not money. and he's so down to earth. when I met him he treated me like I was an old friend. I went to shake his hand and he pulled me in for a big ol bear hug.
He's the best. I got to hang with him and the illegals for a day and I'm one of two people in the world who got tattooed by him. Philcore 4 life.

Phillip is a Metal Legend that almost died from drugs and booze and trauma and massive negativity and hate thrown his way.......to a man aging truly gracefully....staying artistically relevant, heavy and intense....and interesting.
After his meltdown "white power" debacle....he quits drinking, issues a fantastic and honorable apology and MORE IMPORTANTLY....explanation, and setting of the record of what actually went down that night.
The man is a living legend who is just continuing to push the creative envelope of southern inspired heavy music.
This sounds fantastic. His voice is one of a kind. I cant wait to hear the album.

Phil is the most important artist/personality/vocalist in all of heavy music. His constant support of small bands and his seemingly endless musical projects is an example of how to grow older with wisdom and lessons learned. Thankfully he didn’t become another statistic like many who came up around him and didn’t survive the demons of addiction. He is unscarred.

No no no. With Phils recent comments about Kirk combined with COC touring cycle winding down i think 2020 is very realistic. Plus if they DO NOT release new music in 2020 this will be their longest gap between albums (which was NOT the plan.). Id expect back to back EPs in late 2020 & early 2022. Just an educated guess. Connecting the dots from multiple interviews & relevant band history...
