Modern "morality" is just replacing one form of bigotry for another. Like real people give AF about the extremist politics
The way Al spoke about his sister is the love a brother has for any of his siblings. Siblings fight and disagree on many things. Yet the bond many develop carry through into adulthood while others never realize how great a gift they could've had, but neglected. Al loved his sister immensely despite her mental and physical challenges. He wanted at least one member of his family back and that was his sister. He wanted to protect her like he used to. You can see and hear the hurt coming from Al (brilliantly played by Dean Stockwell) and there is not a doubt in his mind that he knew Trudy didn't die solely from pneumonia. Al knew that Jimmy wouldn't survive in an institution. That's why he was adamant that they don't fail.

Well Sam had a sister who married some abusive jerk. So here's a potential plot twist perhaps Jonathan Archer is a descendant of the Beckett Family and Great Great Uncle Sam caused the Temporal Cold War with his discovery of time travel.
People tend to take things out of context and turn them into a joke but they never actually look into the source material and I wish more of them did. Im glad you enjoyed the episode.
Quantum Leap was such an awesome show. You never knew what was going to happen next. But it wasn't just mindless action, you're constantly thinking "What would I do in that situation?". Now this episode in particular, it just hit hard.
Went and sought out the full episode - Brother is a saint, wife is a bitch; kick her out move Jimmy in and the three dudes can rock the mortgage without ya.
so if i remember the show correctly "jimmy" is the only one of sam's host that sam ever leaped into twice or a "second time." the second time he leaped into jimmy was the "deliver us from evil" episode in season five which is the first episode of the three episode "evil leaper trilogy" in season five.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.
Well maybe that's why people should teach there kids that the World 🌎🌍 is not always a Nice Place . And not everyone will be Nice to you in this World .
sadako24 . yeah that would have been nice to see but sam's colleague's in the future from project quantum leap probably wouldn't have allowed that and probably shut the project down if sam and al tried it. isn't that against the rules or something because in the second episode of season one the episode "star-crossed" june 15 1972 sam leaps into the body of a literature professor named doctor gerald bryant and sam meets donna when she's eighteen years old and sam wants to change history and stop her from leaving him at the altar and give himself a second shot at marriage but Al tells him he can't do that because it's against the rules. "Al's exact words in the scene were and i quote" the time traveler shall not take advantage of his position as the time traveler to improve or alter his own life. but you're right though and i agree it would be good if Al got to save his sister trudy.
@Marty McFly II i remember that episode that was the season two finale where sam leaps into a undercover cop named jake rawlins and he has a chance to save al's marriage to his first wife beth but he doesn't because he tells al that's not what his mission was and what he was sent there to do in the first place. sam made the right decision that episode because it would have been wrong to save al's marriage because like he said that's not what his mission is and what he was sent there to do in the first place. ever since then sam has regretted his decision not to save al and beth's marriage and was given a second chance to fix it in the season five episode quantum leap season five episode 22 mirror image when he leap's into himself. that episode when there's no one in the waiting room at project quantum leap Sam's colleagues realize sam had no choice but to leap into himself sam realizes he's leaped into himself when he looks in the mirror and sees his own reflection.
Maybe , Maybe not seeing as Sam only puts Right what they want him to Put Right . For Example Sam was able to save his Brother in Vietnam. But not his Sister from a Abusive relationship or his Father dying of Cancer

@Eureka I no how Jimmy feels about being different. In the 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade I got teased about being different. I got called names like Ben Franklin, Short McShorts Shorts, and worst of all getting teased for being scared of Beavis and Butt-Head. What helped me survived middle school, was 1 person: Jason David Frank/Tommy Oliver. He helped me realize that being different was ok. But another person who treated me like a human being was Rhonda Warden. She treated me like a human being. Point is if Jimmy can have Hope from Sam Beckett you can have Hope 2.

The best TV series series even made.

Those "Cruel" Kids...
Grew-Up to Become *EVIL* Demons of Greed, That Were Always Mean.
The 1980's could make ANY story work. These days, nothing seems to work.
The Captain of the Enterprise NX-1, Ladies and Gentleman. But in all honesty, Good stuff
Well Sam had a sister who married some abusive jerk. So here's a potential plot twist perhaps Jonathan Archer is a descendant of the Beckett Family and Great Great Uncle Sam caused the Temporal Cold War with his discovery of time travel.
I came for the meme, but this was actually a good episode.
Dean gave one of the best performances on the show in this scene. Always wondered if he had a personal connection to the material
One of many brilliant episodes .
Al....just...Al. 💕💕💕
His feet were planted. Is was an offensive foul
⠀
Damn, that's some good acting.
⠀
I came for the meme but I'm about to actually watch this this is some good acting
3:17 “kids are cruel jack, and I’m very in touch with my inner child”
How good was Quantum Leap! 👏
This is me everyday, very frustrating
4:26 simple. Its 1953 in a Mental Asylum. And in their defense, around 50K people still die of it annually to this day.
2:27 That's like if you rear-ended someone and got out of your car and said "hey asshole look what you did to my bumper"
I had no idea this was a show. Before today this was just a meme
Watch the series, it’s pretty good even to this day.
This is me at my job *most days* and yes I do look in a mirror and recite that line when I fuck up
Great show. Quantum leap has heart.
so if i remember the show correctly "jimmy" is the only one of sam's host that sam ever leaped into twice or a "second time." the second time he leaped into jimmy was the "deliver us from evil" episode in season five which is the first episode of the three episode "evil leaper trilogy" in season five.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.
That’s right Corey
Poor al
I work with these people and they need us to live.
I can't think of a bad Quantum Leap episode. The meme taken out of context is pretty insensitive but the episode is quality.
The car wash had Jimmy throwin his hands down like "ah phooey"
Goes to show when you treat someone as stupid they will perceive themselves as that.
Well maybe that's why people should teach there kids that the World 🌎🌍 is not always a Nice Place . And not everyone will be Nice to you in this World .
We Will Not Lose Jimmy!
I remember watching this show
One of Al's best scenes.
1:43
Al's story was really sad😔😔😔😔
This is exactly how I fucking feel
I wonder if Al had become the leaper for Season 6, would his sister's death have become a wrong he'd get a chance to put right?
That would’ve been nice to see.
sadako24 . yeah that would have been nice to see but sam's colleague's in the future from project quantum leap probably wouldn't have allowed that and probably shut the project down if sam and al tried it. isn't that against the rules or something because in the second episode of season one the episode "star-crossed" june 15 1972 sam leaps into the body of a literature professor named doctor gerald bryant and sam meets donna when she's eighteen years old and sam wants to change history and stop her from leaving him at the altar and give himself a second shot at marriage but Al tells him he can't do that because it's against the rules.
But not his Sister from a Abusive relationship or his Father dying of Cancer
if you're reading this comment, that's you in the video.
One of the best episodes of television, ever.
Dad: “Don’t fk my car up tho “
This is episode is my absolute favorite.
Could you imagine trying to do this episode today???? Impossible
Liberals would lose their shit
Mr. Joshua Quantum Leap was one of the most progressive shows for its time. It tackled social issues like racism, sexism, and ableism during a period when people complained about "liberals" pushing their agenda in shows of this nature. Saying liberals would lose their shit doesn't make any sense, and misses the entire point of why this series was created in the first place.
@@punkyagogo but cmon man it’s impossible for any other political party to get offended it’s always the liberals! Not like we get offended by a president wearing a tan suit and being asked to wear a mask!
@@punkyagogo I think you are missing his point, because he's right. You might not like that he calls them liberals, but the 'regressives' sure as hell would complain about this being done today: probably claim it's exploitative.
You all are a couple of idiots liberals push this type of agenda based shoes to educate people, if anything if this show was out today a majority of "liberals" would praise it.
If you watch this clip and then watch the it's always sunny clip with Frank in therapy it's fuckin GOLD
i feel like this most times ngl
It's true... us disabled kids are extremely strong we can take a beating actually. Sigh if only the coaches put us in Wrestling or Football or something. We just be this wall protecting the QB kid.... or impervious preception of pain, and our fustrations in life make a perfect line backer... make the other kids on the opposite team crap their pants much to the delight of our coach.... Sadly the coach made fun of us too... no line backer no city championship for him..... Or even state...
Showing a different era of ridiculing people with disabilities. Great show.
Came for Captain Archer
I never really watched the series only a few peeks as a kid. I was always under the impression that he only took over the bodies of the people but it was his mind inside, so did he actually also take over their characteristics and skills? Or in this case the lack of it?
No its just in this episode hes getting pressured so much by everyone it makes him second guess himself and be more clumsy.
In one episode he jumped into a pregnant girl and had pregnancy symptoms
The water coming out of that hose is the real issue.
Haha
I want to see this now. I bet that poor girl was murderded through neglect
She in fact dies from neumonia:
Cold water torture in psychiatric institutions
Later in the 19th and 20th centuries, however, “things got worse because [cold water] was used in ‘insane asylums’ to ‘treat’ people with psychiatric disorders, basically by subduing them,” Dr. Jaekl told MNT.
“Attempts to use cold water to treat people with mental health issues were consistent until the turn of the 20th century not because they actually had therapeutic or curative value but simply because they were a means of control,” he went on to say.
In the 1800s, “surprise” cold showers or baths were used to allegedly treat “raging excitement” and too strong a libido. Such procedures involved dumping a bucket of cold water onto the naked “patient” or dunking them into an icy bath.
That lady should’ve had grandmas platter somewhere special if it’s that important.
3:01 really picks me up
@Eureka I no how Jimmy feels about being different.
I’m watching jimmy on the forklift quantum leap feb 09/02/2021
I teach Safety Orientation classes a lot for my job. Sometimes there are between 30 - 40 people in them. I have often wondered how I sound to them when I make a mistake. I am supposed to sound well educated in this specific subject, however there are certain times where I will miss-read a line or skip a line. I have wondered if I sound dumb to those in the class. Also, to be honest, it's a three-hour course about safety. So you know it has to be boring to the ones that attend. Lol.
Where can you see all seasons?
My mom loved this show
This doesn't show up in search bar aside from "I'm ret"
So we're not allowed to see that word.. but if it was a scene of a guy bashing another guy's head in with a hammer.. that's cool
Whats the thing with audio from this era always being so weird and overpowering lol.
