***** The long message is alright, I don't mind it if it gets your point across, and if you are a decent animator now after starting with stick figures than it gives some credibility to your arguments against the other animators. As for him though, I know that he started with stick figures, but to my knowledge doesn't he still animate with them?
Stick figures are the "Lightsaber form 0" of animation. Feel the power the the dot-head and blocks, you must. Oh yeah, and I love the new "Jazza man" intro. Reminds me of running out of the tunnel at a start of a football game. Except he doesn't trip over his own shoelaces and almost impale a cheerleader with his head. Unlike..umm...others who were...uhh less graceful in their youth. ;)
Hi Jazza, I've been watching your videos for about a year now, and I always learn something new. I do have a question, though. I'm using Flash CC 2014, and when using the line tool, it sometimes acts similar to a primitive. For every line, I have to right click to break it apart, so I can even bend and modify it. It's nothing serious, but It is really annoying. Is there something that triggers this, or is it Flash just being Flash?
Stick figures are a great way to start off when first getting into animation, one you get good at it you understand the principles of movement. Then you go off to full body animation
I love this tutorial, it is truly a shame that it came a few years later than most of the animators here who used and created all these fun stick figure animations (including myself). I only wish we had something like this all those years ago. The one thing that I would really love to see is if you could manage to show us a general idea or even perhaps a full advanced tutorial for industry rigging and animation with an 8-point turn character. That would be truly amazing and incredibly helpful to get a knowledge of. Great tutorial as always.
When I started watching u Jazza, I got EXTREMELY into animating. I thought it was so cool to draw things and make them come to life. And when I started animating, I started off with stick figure animating, with them fighting. I did a lot of the #3 stick figure guy. Thanks Jazza for the video and have a nice day ^-^
Thanks for all the amazing advice! This was especially helpful to me since the first things I was going to animate were stick figures, and as luck would have it, here's a video how to make exactly that. So thanks!
Great tutorial! You are an inspiration on how to make a good tutorial. I have been animating with Flash from the beginning and what I love about the Flash community is that they like to share their knowledge! You have a ew Subscriber! ;)
I used to do stick animation fights for 2-3 years (was a member at Fluidanims and StickPage). I always enjoyed using the brush over the others, felt more freely to me.
I got started on sticksuicide.com (now dead, but originally founded by the guys who make cyanide and happiness) before I started submitting to newgrounds :)
When I saw you could move around the stick figures joints I was in awe because I have been wanting something like that so could you tell me what program you use? This would be really helpful and I would really appreciate that.
To be honest, I am a little disappointed by this tutotial. I was expecting to see some more animating, and a bigger use of the second and third style of stickmen you made. I really hope you can cross this category once again in another tutorial. I am rooting for it.
I definitely agree, This was more of a stickfigure construction video. I kind of need help on my pacing/movement for my stickfigures ;-; and this tutorial didn't really review that category.
I used to animate stick figures too. It's what I started doing circa 05 on pivot. Then I moved onto flash. I remember watching your stuff like Paladin on Newgrounds. You responded to one of my reviews I think it was The Composer. I don't animate anymore and I wish I could but I don't have the massive amount of time needed. I still watch you and your stuff though and it halfway feels as good.
Hi Jazza, I wanted to ask about something. I've been working on a flash animation. The animation I'm speaking of is a music video. That means that the music needs to be constant with the timing. As you stated in an earlier video, there is a way to combat this. The issue I face however, is that the animation has a soundtrack which will remain consistent throughout the movie. Do you have any advice for keeping the consistency of the soundtrack, whilst still maintaining a relatively bug-free workflow? Thanks in advance and congratulations with the baby!
Great video. I've been working on creating a stick figure lately that will look good even from the side. That's the one drawback to stick-figures; if they're standing straight, with arms at the sides, from a side view they look horrible haha. I'm experimenting a bit with adding some circle shoulders/hips.
Hey Jazza! I really need help with something... The last stickfigure with the floating head right well when i connect the arms they dont reform the body into a rounded shoulder thingy... and i followed all ur steps... :( and how do you make ur character walk without redrawing everything... you showed him moving as an animation without even drawing! how? :D thanks! wish you all the luck!
Draw with Jazza what do you use to animate ehat program or programs do you use i really want to start animating some stickfigures and try a littke animating
I quite like to animate stick figures in Pivot stick figure animator and it's cool because you can create your own characters and it comes with a selection of different stick figures.
What types of folders can you create when animating? I am a programmer and interested in sprite sheet pictures. Can you produce only video file or also a sprite sheet (frame in png) ?
I've always used Number 3 to draw stickmen! Number 1 seriously annoys me, I can't stand seeing that giraffe neck or shoulders on his stomach thing... Number 2 is too solid imo... Number 4 is cool. I like it. Tho Number 3 is comfier to work with, for me at least.
ok so on stick figure 2. I did the snap thing but it sometimes it drags the arm and bends it when i try to adjust it and i don't know how to make it normal
hey jazza, i wanted to ask a question , each time when i am trying to animate it and the lines overlap they stick to each other and i cant break them apart is there a way to get rid of that
jazza, how do you make it so that the head graphic stays with the body? because whenever I animate the stick figures, the head graphic doesn't move with the body
Hi Jazza, I'm thinking of buying a tablet. Witch one do you prefer: Wacom Intuos pen & touch M or Wacom Intuos Pro S? (I'm asking bcs of the size. witch is beter?)
Hey Jovan, I have a wacom intuos pro large and it works just fine. (it is kinda the most expensive for one that doesn't have a screen) anyways with the wacom intuos pro it has 2048 pressure for the pen, it has more hotkeys. it has the ring thing.. and it has more features. obviously the wacom intuos pen and touch medium is larger than the wacom intuos pro s. anyways. hoped i helped!
omgg this is the tutorial I was waiting for
ooooooooo all hail hyun dojo and stickpage xD
HK Azxc he doesn't own stick page... :p
i love you
Ummm... Hyun? Don't you not need this, like, at all?
***** The long message is alright, I don't mind it if it gets your point across, and if you are a decent animator now after starting with stick figures than it gives some credibility to your arguments against the other animators.

You're so proud of the TabletopTime intro...and you should be! It looks badass!
Teehee, thanks :D

i believe is a button in the tools panel (just under the colors) that looks like a circle inside a square, i sometimes accidentally toggle it too
Draw with Jazza Found it. Thanks so much!
Draw with Jazza I've made my own stick man
Oh You Mean The "Object Drawing" Button.
Stick figures are a great way to start off when first getting into animation, one you get good at it you understand the principles of movement. Then you go off to full body animation
5:20 To get to the actual video.
Thannnkk
Thx
Thx, Man.
He already put it in his video
No, if you want to be serious about animating, there's important information there.
I love this tutorial, it is truly a shame that it came a few years later than most of the animators here who used and created all these fun stick figure animations (including myself). Damn now I feel like stick animating again, it was really fun.
When I saw you could move around the stick figures joints I was in awe because I have been wanting something like that so could you tell me what program you use? This would be really helpful and I would really appreciate that.
instaliked when you mentioned xiaxiao, thats the very first thing that made my interest in animating
definitely the best animation tutorials on youtube
I like the short and thick stick figure style of drawing.
Great. I think the sound makes all the difference in the animation. I would love to know how you did that.
I should've watched these type of videos when I was trying to figure out animating. Anyhow, you've made a lot of great tutorials on here!
oldschool works for me!! thank u!
To be honest, I am a little disappointed by this tutotial. I was expecting to see some more animating, and a bigger use of the second and third style of stickmen you made. I really hope you can cross this category once again in another tutorial. I am rooting for it.

Jazzon agreed
That's why I watch Alan Becker's Principles of animation,DONT get me wrong,I love this channel,But Alan's explain a bit more about stickfigures
I was looking up tutorials and I clicked and saw the jazza intro and smiled 😂😂
I used to animate stick figures too. It's what I started doing circa 05 on pivot. Then I moved onto flash. I remember watching your stuff like Paladin on Newgrounds. Very nice tutorial. I plan on getting into animation and illustrations when I receive my tablet.

Great video. I've been working on creating a stick figure lately that will look good even from the side. That's the one drawback to stick-figures; if they're standing straight, with arms at the sides, from a side view they look horrible haha. This is Fantastic
I find the Brush stick figure a lot easier.
Draw with Jazza You forgot the Afrotique style stickfigure xD
Nice tutorial!
Also if you forget to make to separate layers, you can just delete the head or select the body and make it a new layer thing
If your hand touches the table does it still draw or only when the pencil touches it
Robo Terra he has a half glove on his hand
*face palm on so many levels*
I love your intro that you've been flaunting about recently, but it's really the music/score that makes it "pop". Just sayin' mate.

I have a question with you Jazza, what level do you use for the brush smoothing ? I use my smoothing at 30 and it doesn't look quite well... "good".
Ogosh thank you! I always use to animate using the onion skin tool and drew out each frame! It turns out really good but it takes forever
Hi can i please ask for your opinion about using surface pro 3 (i5, 8gb ver) for heavy flash animation.
Can you remake this tutorial? Your work has changed and youve become superior in explaining things now compared to before.
What application did you use to make your table top animation?
thanks for the tutorial my favorate is the 2nd one as i do animation using mouse
I quite like to animate stick figures in Pivot stick figure animator and it's cool because you can create your own characters and it comes with a selection of different stick figures.
but in flash you actually DRAW it since it's more fun to draw than make lines
What types of folders can you create when animating? I am a programmer and interested in sprite sheet pictures. Can you produce only video file or also a sprite sheet (frame in png) ?
Hey Jazza were can i find one of those sketch computer pens?.
What program is Jazza using again?
