I saw "under 30 feet" and immediately clicked. Also, yes, I use the glass top. Not being able to get to the fuse box with the slide closed I feel is a design flaw.
I use the glass stove top when I cook with the Instant Pot and the air fryer, under the running exhaust fan to remove moisture from the IP as the lid is opened and to remove cooking odor from the af.
Pass . It looks nice but need to be able to access the bathroom and bedroom without opening the slide for lay overs at Walmarts till we get to our camping destination. Love the rear shaped U dinette .

@@JoshtheRVNerd thank you for responding . My wife and I love watching your channel. We just bought a 2021 eagle ht fifth wheel and we love it. I love when they put the dining tables in the back with windows..fuse box is in a bad spot.easy access when slide is closed is handy..not bad in the smaller rv..
I've never used the stove glass top as prep space, because of the gap. But, we do put our dish drainer and absorbent mat on the glass top when doing dishes. It's really only good for that, in my opinion and my specific use case.
I love this guy's videos! HOWEVER, We won't be buying another Jayco or trading up until the RV industry gets regulated. We have a 2022 Jayco Eagle TT and the short cuts taken...have been shocking as we've been stuck fixing them. We've spent over $1,800 fixing items the 1st year although we're supposed to have a warranty. 12V fridge broke and the new one is on its way to breaking as no one can figure out what is going on. Currently our floor was messed up by the door behind tv/storage scraping the floor. The kitchen counters need replacing. We have water damage from inappropriate "garden hose" material being used for the toilet, the hot water by pass plumbing and just today behind the wall in the shower. It's infuriating to find...garden hose material being used for plumbing. I could go on...but won't. Plus, this 4 season RV can't handle temps...above 85 degrees and below 30 degrees. I can't begin to tell you the places that are not insulated.
Well, I’m sorry to see and hear this. I do appreciate that you took the time to share it. My goal is Channel is always to provide fair information and I think that’s what you’re doing here
@JoshtheRVNerd I certainly meant no disrespect to you, your videos, or your dealership. It's just upsetting to see how RVs were made just a few years ago and how they are made now. 😕
I really appreciate how you stress hitch weight and payload capacity when determining if a trailer is half ton towable. I do not own an RV and am still on the fence about purchasing a camper. I am currently limiting my options to the half ton, but videos like this make me think I might need to step up to a 3/4T pickup (just not this one due to the slide closing off the fuse box, bedroom and more importantly the bathroom). I'll be towing in windy, mountainous country, do you have any recommendation on maximum length? Keep up the good work!
beautiful Jayco! Thank you for no glass top, I like that! I also am thankful that they finally made cabinet doors like normal side opening cabinet doors!!!👍🏻👏🏻bravo Jayco!
Love Jayco’s decor. This directly competes with the Cougar 24RDS. While I prefer the Jayco, I’d go for the Cougar because of the wardrobe slide. Also, I want a fireplace for ambiance and light heating duties. The table in the Cougar is much more usable, the Jayco table appears to be (barely) big enough for two people to be eating.
I love the bedroom and the dinette. I'd like to switch that table out and put in a Lagun set up. As long as I can put a medium frozen pizza in the oven, I'm fine with the smaller oven. I simply adore all the storage rather than an electric fireplace. Placement of the fuse box is a deal breaker for me.
My wife and I just saw this at the CT RV Show. Other than the big 40' "home away from home" 5th Wheels, this was our favorite "getaway" style 5th wheel we saw. But yeah the microwave looked comically small.
Greatly appreciate your gasser comment! Soon to be retired trucker! Want no part of a diesel pickup! Never under do it on tow vehicle. Down hill will be the spooky part! I would like same size tires on both vehicles. Same rotation rate.
The glass top stove cover actually lost one of the center hinges so now it's always up (even while on the road) and otherwise in the way. AND - slide closed = no bathroom access. Why not a tilt-drawer at the sink? Where & how much propane? What about water, power (30 or 50A) and gray/black dumpers?
I love the under 30ft and general layout, but losing the bathroom, bedroom, and fuse box, on a trailer better designed for towing is a bummer! Wonder if they could make a version with just a two seater love seat so the slide could be a butt smaller and give you travel trailer two step space for the front.
Nice job Josh! This is a great unit that has tons of storage, nice aesthetics, and great counter space but Jayco lost us when we saw the bathroom, fridge, and fuse panel were inaccessible in road mode 😞. What are they thinking? Also why only 52 gals. fresh and 80 gals. gray? Makes no sense. Agree with changing the table out for a free-standing table too; those poles are knee-knockers!
It’s not a single 80 gallon gray tank. They use 40 gallon gray tanks across-the-board. But this floor plan happens to have a separate gray tank for the kitchen in the bathroom so it makes everything look out of whack.
Our bed area is exactly like this one. But.... No storage above the bed is a downer. Our RV has wardrobes on both sides of the bed & storage between making good use of space.
I have the Alliance Avenue 26RD. Love seeing how different manufactures do it. There are things I like about this one better and some things I like about the Alliance better.
Nice camper. Will have to add it to the ever growing list of 37. But is that rear door hatch big enough to put a spare tire in? I like to carry two spares for my trailers.
Hey Uncle Josh,I hope you're having a great day! I really like this new Jayco Eagle 25RU fifth wheel! I do kind of wish that you had the electric fireplace space heater. I love the big u-shaped dinette. Do they give you the option for the tri-fold sleeper sofa or the theater seat?
I really would like to get a 5th wheel but Toyota doesn’t make a 3/4 ton so I have to stick with the travel trailers. While it is under by about 100 lbs on the payload I think it is too tight to use. Love your videos. Not being able to get to the bathroom with the slide in is a show stopper for me. Wifey likes to use our own bathroom when on the road.
I think it’s really awesome that you understand your trucks real capabilities. I found a lot of people who own tundras are kind of like people who own rangers. They somehow think they have a monster truck that’s capable of unlimited capacities lol.
We would consider one this size. We are more weekend and a couple of longer trips a year couple. Only issue is the bathroom is not available during travel. We have yet to find a smaller 5th wheel that has a floor plan with access to the bathroom when the slide is in. So we stick to our Class C Wayfarer.
I live in a Keystone Cougar 25 RES, similar to this. I'd miss the stove glass top, as I don't use my gas burners, and use an Induction plate instead which sits on the glass top. Also use the area for food prep. The kitchen looks good with lots of storage, that's a plus. Funny they still use the Furion sound bar, which are junk. No hanging wardrobe in the bedroom is a downer. The night stands look like possible head knockers. No bathroom or fridge access with the slide closed isn't great. I agree, these are not Half Ton towable. I have too much truck an F350, but rather have too much than not enough.
Hey there hollywood. I've watched practically every RV video you've ever made and yet I still have a question. What you recommend we look at for a couples, full time live in, 5th wheel that has a washer dryer hookup in it and plenty of room? Not huge of course but we are looking at full timing in the near future and believe a 5th wheel would be the best avenue to go. Thanks again for all of your videos....hollywood....we love them! Oh we have a chevy 2500 gasser that is rated for 16600 5th wheel but I really don't want to be maxed out for safety reasons. I would like to stay in the 12 to maybe 13k area if possible if that helps.
Very hard not to compare to the similar Reflection, but loving the colors more in this one for sure! We'd also do something about that rear table too, that's where my desk would be. Like the backsplash behind the sink, too bad it doesn't continue behind the stove. We ADORE the theater seat, especially with the arm rest. Not terribly worried about the lack of fireplace, just like the Reflection we'd being a little portable fireplace for the countertop. Not thrilled with the vent in the bathroom, but at least it's not in a location to catch tinkle or shower spray. We like the bedroom sidetables, but it feels like there's a headboard missing or some kind of shield-type device. Yes, lazy people tend to suck, and not in a nice way. Looking again, the other half says the ovenstovemicrowave is too small. They would certainly shake things up in the industry if they made a standard 2000w solar package.
I like it.but...fuse box is in the wrong place..floating dining table would be better..finally putting the dining by the windows was a perfect idea.. stretch out and watch natures beauty while hubby snores with the TV on..perfect 😂😂😂😅
Here's my million dollar idea. Design a hitch/suspension system that shifts the weight off the hitch. Then a lot of current half-tons can tow it. I have a Cougar 28 half-ton series with similar weight specs. I tow it with a 2023 F150 Powerboost no problem averaging 8.8 mpg. Keeps up with diesels on hill climbs and use the trailer brakes to help with downhill. The difference is I added air bags to the rear suspension filled to one half at 50 psi. My F150 is rated to tow about 13,000 lbs. Has the 7200W onboard generator and can run 30 or 50 Amp. 30 Amp needs the receptacle adapter - cost $25. Should add the Cougar just pushes the payload spec. We are not over it, but can get to +100 lb with a rear passenger. Still within tolerance (I'm an engineer). And i try to run dry when i can. Although the fresh water in the rear helps with shifting weight. Had to upgrade the stock tires too. Finally, i did measure the axle weights at the scale. Used a Cat scale at the local truckstop.
Love this one!!! My only complaint is I want a Freestanding table so I can move to other areas if I wish. Would love a larger oven and definitely stovetop cover. Really nice rig. 😊
@@JoshtheRVNerd Dang I wanted you to review one since I’ve seen a lot of your videos and really love them and you go in depth, and wanted to see if you thought it was better than a Geo Pro, since the R Pod has better suspension than the Geo, and like the R Pod more over the Geo. I was surprised to find that I really like this one. I like the decor, the booth is very versatile, and the theatre seat is not something I normally like, Buddhist one, I do. I'm not bothered whether there's a cover on the cooktop, there's a fairly decent counter top, I've seen worse definitely! The bedroom and bathroom are both really nice, good storage, and the style of the bedside cabinets is unusual, in a good way. I'm totally with you on people who leave rubbish everywhere 🙄😡
I can’t comprehend why some manufacturers still refuse to give their customers the “option” of replacing that humongous “1960’s diner” booth dinette with a residential style sofa😩because this floorplan would go from OK to AWESOME👍💥
You do your own stunts?? Lol better get a stuntman to do that reverse moonwalk falling down the stairs breaking a leg knocking out some teeth action..Seriously Josh appreciate the videos and the laughs on this stormy Friday evening..Maybe you need to bring that crash helmet out of retirement!!👍👍😳🤪
Hugh bulky dinet & couch and no closet space in bedroom. Tall ceilings for tall people that bash their knees with a bulky dinette. 😂 Easy bake oven. 🥴 The metal stove top is best. Especially the ones that fold to make a shelf and splatter catcher. TV neck breaker. Seems they're just trying to use all the in stock leftovers to put in "smaller" rigs to still keep the overpricing going.
Being unable to reach the fuse box with the slide closed is an absolute deal breaker. I can't believe they'd even consider it in 2024. If they're making those choices we can see, what other horribly inconvenient design choices can't we see?
It's extremely disappointing to see Jayco decide to go cheap and chintzy with its standard size Eagle HT 5thWs. Up until this year, one could always count on Jayco to offer its BM PRO digital control center, 81 gallons of freshwater capacity, gen prep, true four season capability and a host of other features which set Jayco apart from other overrated, overpriced and under engineered competitors. An Eagle HT 5thW with north-south bed with closets, drawers along with a window on the drivers side (for a nice cross breeze in the BR) distinguished it from more pedestrian types. I can only imagine what shortcuts Jayco made which are not plainly visible. This is serious backsliding which damages its hard won reputation for uncompromising excellence. I always considered Jayco to be the equal of Keystone, and superior to Grand Design type pretenders. Keystone has now lept ahead. Jayco has fallen back into a class below populated by Grand Design and other generic second and third rate manufacturers for which I have no respect whatsoever. I'm sorry to remove Jayco HT 5thWs from my list of potential purchases; especially at a time when the RV industry in general is suffering from shoddy build practices.
I saw "under 30 feet" and immediately clicked. Also, yes, I use the glass top. Not being able to get to the fuse box with the slide closed I feel is a design flaw.

PLEASE put in a different table Jayco....I LOVE this one but wont purchase because of the table not being movable. I wanted this one!!! 😢😊
This rv is nice can I get this in a bigger two bedroom floor plan Josh!!
Jayco has some bigger models like that yeah
I was surprised to find that I really like this one. I like the decor, the booth is very versatile, and the theatre seat is not something I normally like, Buddhist one, I do. I'm not bothered whether there's a cover on the cooktop, there's a fairly decent counter top, I've seen worse definitely! The bedroom and bathroom are both really nice, good storage, and the style of the bedside cabinets is unusual, in a good way.
I'm totally with you on people who leave rubbish everywhere 🙄😡
It drives me nuts
I can’t comprehend why some manufacturers still refuse to give their customers the “option” of replacing that humongous “1960’s diner” booth dinette with a residential style sofa😩because this floorplan would go from OK to AWESOME👍💥
Good video Josh
Glad you enjoyed it
Loose the oven and the top drawer, put in a microwave/airfryer. Then add a cabinet up where the microwave was
That sounds pretty cool
Fresh tank size is weak. It needs to be 80 or 100.
Ford 7.3l gasser would pull this would ease.
Another question, towing with ram 1500 rated at 10plus. Will it handle hitch rate and towing a 75 mile trip to regularly for favorite campground?
I’m not able to answer your question with the info provided. Would need your payload rating (not tow rating)
I believe it's about 1500 to 1600
Do a 4 season TT and explain who would buy them.
I’m not saying, I do my own stunts by choice lol
Is it a round toilet or oblong?
I don't know if people are really aware how much more capable of three quarter time truck is
It’s significant
No travel access to bathroom or fridge is no bwano.
How much is this?
You can see pricing on currently available models at www.bishs.com/rv-search?stocknumber=25ru
#NerdHerd 🎉 😊 🎉
“Stealth mode camping”, but no bathroom access, HARD PASS!
Your daughter might like The Void is Full videogame channel
I’ll take a look!
Josh, did I just hear you say "yeating the wifey"? SMH
🎉#NerdHerd....
Hugh bulky dinet & couch and no closet space in bedroom.
Tall ceilings for tall people that bash their knees with a bulky dinette. 😂
Easy bake oven. 🥴
The metal stove top is best. Especially the ones that fold to make a shelf and splatter catcher.
TV neck breaker.
Seems they're just trying to use all the in stock leftovers to put in "smaller" rigs to still keep the overpricing going.
Thanks for sharing!
A craptula......
😆
You're in my top 10 champ 🏆
😊 ty
Being unable to reach the fuse box with the slide closed is an absolute deal breaker. I can't believe they'd even consider it in 2024. If they're making those choices we can see, what other horribly inconvenient design choices can't we see?
I will say it for you. There is no such thing as a half ton towable fifth wheel. No. Such. Thing.
You don’t gotta convince me. Thank you.
I don't mind the u dinette. Gices me a place to sleep.
👍🏻
NICE, NOW MAKE IT W/O THE SLIDE.
