    Ooh, I really like this one. Being out west, getting under 30’ is important for having more places to go. Being able to use the entire rig with the slide closed is also a major plus. And am I the only one who looked at that roof and saw all of the panel potential? Oh, and as I get older, auto level is now a must. I’m looking at you Northwood.

    • @TheKevinBostic
      @TheKevinBostic 10 месяцев назад

      What do you mean by "panel potential"?
      Also, what is the significance of 30ft out West? State Parks? National Parks? Thx!

    • @mrsteve4569
      @mrsteve4569 5 месяцев назад

      @TheKevin, my apologies. I don’t get noticed when folks reply. Panel potential = more solar panels. A lot of state and federal parks out here are small. In some California State Parks, if you’re over 25ft, you’re not getting in to camp.

      @everydaymistics8082 have you taken any trips in your new RV? Anything you'd change? How is the upper deck, specifically the bedroom? The "step of doom" is a concern for us... we are tall and the bedroom seems cramped.

    I like it! I would prefer that the little countertop section to the right of the sink were the same height as the rest. There’s so much kitchen space that they could actually get rid of the kitchen counter/cabinet section right next to the door and replace it with a bar or desk overlooking the camp side 🎉

      Well, that's a good idea, but my first thought wuz to put my outdoor sink under that space and have the whole *kitchen* setup right there! And, if anyone else watches Finding Our Someday, you prolly know that this specific layout is their idea, and I'm thrilled to see Grand Design producing it now! And as a 5th wheel - We might even consider it for our future travels!

  • @de1057

    I like this floor plan and that dining table is a perfect craft table! Now if they can only push the innovation into a single-person 5th wheel 25' or less for a 1/2 ton short bed with zero slides, I'm ready.

    Late to the party with this one, but this is a great size and layout. I love the breakfast nook idea, plenty of seating - you could easily add a folding chair/s. My only suggestion would be a retractable tv that comes up from behind the fireplace. If you’re watching tv you’re probably not going to be looking out the window.

  • @nomadicana
    @nomadicana Год назад +39

    Here’s an idea - replace the outside mini fridge with a trash can, and make it accessible from the inside and outside. Then you don’t have to walk inside to throw stuff away, and you can empty your trash from outside too!

      Pretty much the perfect floorplan for me. I love the nook idea. I want a comfortable place to eat but don't want it to use up too much space. I was never sold on using a free standing table at a couch or just having a bar-top to eat. This is the perfect compromise. Wish this came in a TT, I prefer to keep my truck bed storage.

  • @EarlBalentine
    @EarlBalentine 9 месяцев назад +3

    GD nailed this floor plan. GD needs to relocate the electrical outlet on both sides of the bedroom headboard down to just under the nightstand lights. We both have a USB fan, USB watch charger and a USB iPhone charger, this 3 cables wrapping around your head while you sleep. Please tell GD to move these outlets down under the nightstand lights where all your devices will be anyway. All trailers should come with extra solar to power a 2000watt inverter so your 110v outlets are hot to watch tv.

    Diablo sandwich and a Dr. Pepper 😜😂😂. Great couples floor plan. Love all the camp side windows. Lighter cabinetry is more to my preference, particularly in smaller units. Has a bit of a Winnebago vibe to the decor. The triple recliner is awesome. Definitely agree on the 3/4 ton tow vehicle, particularly if you want to go anywhere near the mountains. Into the top tier with the rear dinette floor plans.

    Not a bad layout for sure. Might be one to consider as we are looking at the 260rd. As someone who trims house, installs cabinets and all that jazz for a living, the 2 - 2 1/2”gap on the left side of the microwave looks like a mistake. Cabinet should fit tight on both sides. That would bug me. They need to make hat cabinet above the microwave 30” and then make that cabinet to the left bigger to make up the extra space.

    YAY for real travel access! Been looking at 5th wheels of this size/similar layout and it seems like most get a D- for travel access. Love all the kitchen space in this. Also love that the bathroom cabinet is not a head bumper! I wash my face in the bathroom sink at least once a day and not getting a daily concussion from that would be nice 😁

    I love this floor plan and had been stalking it on line for months. Was super excited to see it at the National Rally last month. Got my husband to check it out and discovered 2 things. The trim piece on the slide side of the dinette that holds the table up sticks out and is SHARP! Husband got a huge gash across his calf when he slid into the dinette. They really need to cap that somehow. And the dinette on the bathroom side is pretty tight..it has to be that way so the slide can come in, but table is super close to the seat. Between those two things it was pretty much a deal breaker for my husband. Then we checked out the 310GK..have you done a video on that one? Husband loved it (and of course so did I!)but we’d have to buy another truck..😂😂😂😂

    Steps ... I know it limits the floorplans, but I love my "exterior" roll up/under steps (the "old" style) on my 2019 2600RB. And I have little Lippert "feet" that make contact with the ground so we don't have the traditional bounce. I don't have to worry about how level the site is (I've seen others have to reposition the trailer as they couldn't fully deploy the steps). Also ... I can quickly drop things in the trailer (just on the floor) without having to pull stairs down. If I had longer legs I could probably hop into the trailer for a quick in/out ... but alas, that is not the case!

    There are button guards on Etsy for those theater seats. Same buttons in our 22RBE. Those button guards definitely help prevent accidentally hitting any of the buttons. Would like to see the entry steps be the 4-step instead of 3-step (looks like you would need a small step stool to get up to the first step).

    We love our 2021 260RD but wish this was available in 2021. The only issue we have with our 260 is the lack of access to the bedroom/bathroom when traveling. My favorite thing about many Grand Design rigs is the way they do that counter extension under the tv that gives you extra kitchen work space when/if you need it, but converts back to "living room" space when you don't. The idea of making features convertible or multi-purpose in order to maximize functionality in the small spaces of RVs seems to be neglected by most manufacturers. After seeing the same awkward, tired floorplans over and over I wonder why there haven't been more sensible innovations. Grand Design offers a refreshing exception, and seems to be among the best at making good use of available space even in smaller units. Mini kitchens may be fine for people who don't like to cook, but even making a sandwich or washing out a few cereal bowls just seems like it would be a more cramped and fussy task with so little working space, and frankly if I'm going to be towing around a trailer any larger than a teardrop, I expect to have at least some working counter space.
    The corner dinette is a great idea, because after inadequate work space and storage in a kitchen, the thing I hate most is the "neck wrecker" layout. This solves that problem while still allowing for a dedicated dinette that can also convert to additional lounge space if wanted, then convert back to dining for a couple and their guests. Your tip about adding dining chairs is right on point. There are good folding dining chair options available that would work perfectly here and then stow when not needed. An improvement I'd like to see is making the dinette seating a tad more comfy or "couch-like," what you'd call a "dinofa," so that it truly could serve for both lounge and dining. A lagoon table that can easily remove to make that area into couch/lounge seating, or allow for the use of a larger freestanding table to accommodate more guests would also level up this dining solution into a more truly multi-purpose area.
    Appreciate the counter space and decent storage in the bathroom, and the ample headroom. I like the bedroom but would prefer to see the area around the bed covered in something other than carpet, and would like to see a small utility drawer at each bedside in addition to the bottom cabinet. Having a small drawer to throw little things like lip balm, ear buds, glasses, etc., is really helpful at the bedside and something I miss when it isn't there.
    Oh, and I'd wish for an option to delete the outside kitchen and have that storage space for the inside kitchen instead. You could mod this yourself along with the other stuff I list, but it would be nice to not have to buy features you don't want / have to change yourself. Still, a great rig with lots of potential for dialing in given a little dyi, and definitely one I'd consider.

    Outdoor griddle is great too 🙂.

    Just one thing, if they just offered it with a King bed option, I would order one now!

    Three things I wish they would change. First, make that little drawer section counter top the same height as the rest of the counter. Second, install a large rain sensor vent fan with cover in the bathroom to match the kitchen vent fan. Third, install a 2000 watt button victron inverter with inverter receptacles in the rv so we can add more solar and run the 120 appliances & ac with soft start. Then it would be perfect. This would compete with Cougar & Rockwood.

    I really like the overall design. I have a few personal quirks that I noticed. I don’t like the entertainment area not being symmetrical. Either move the TV down or put a mount that allows you to tilt it down. I might actually prefer a hideabed sofa just in case we have a guest. Those theater seats just really aren't that comfortable. Just look when you kick back and recline. Your ankles and feet hang off the end.
    I understand that manufacturers are trying to stay under the 10k pound threshold, but adding a bedroom slide wouldn't add that much weight when you consider that you're going to need a 3/4 ton either way. Any HD truck that can handle 10k can handle 10.5k.
    I like the bedroom, but one extra foot would give you so much more room to move around and get dressed. The side-stand setup is perfect. The step down can certainly be an issue when I'm 3/4 asleep.

    Love the size but would love to see a televator for the tv so they could put a bigger window on that wall. Also would like to see the stove and sink swapped places and add a big window over sink with upper cabinets on both sides of window. I’d rather do dishes and look out at my camp view not the rear view. Currently have the Reflection RL295, love all the windows we have but would like something smaller and have not seen a smaller 5th wheel that has the windows on the camp side like ours.

    1. I love a banquette. It’s a space saver of floor square footage.
    2. Finally, proper seat placement for tv viewing. If the fire place kitchen cabinet was as deep as the others, they could install a Televater behind the fire place so people don’t have to strain their necks back to see tv. And by moving tv down, you gain upper cabinets.
    3. I noticed more drawers in the lower cabinetry. I think I can speak for most or all seniors, we don’t want or can’t get down on our knees easily anymore nor do we want to bend over or squat to retrieve stuff in the back of lower cabinets. Pulling out a lower drawer takes up no more space than the opening of a door so why not install drawers.

I think they should have the make these in door step standard if would be one more upgrade you don't have to do. We presntly own the 2023 GD Reflection 226RK. Very happy with it.

    The lighter interior is far better than a darker interior. I am torn between rear kitchen and rear living but this really gives you great kitchen counter and storage space. The downside is the lack of rear and camp side windows. I do wish they would use a convection micro even with the oven, I have found propane ovens are really limited. Hey, most people lean forward pooping while reading, lol. Wish there was a king bed option. All in all, a really nice small 5th.

    We have the OG of this floorplan, Rockwood 2622RK. We lucked out and got the 2022 so we were able to get the optional theater seats instead of the dinette set. I do like the small dinette in this model instead the little couch we got. The Rockwood doesn't have a pantry but does have more windows in the kitchen. The other big difference is closet slide in the bedroom.

    This is so close! My recommendations:
    Wardroom slide to allow a bigger shower
    Televator with bigger side window
    Bigger rear window
    Windshield
    All this will push it outside the reflection 150 line, so making it in the impression line would be perfect

It’s a couple’s unit and we don’t have to worry as much about kids and spills. Maybe offer a light colored upholstery but keep the wood tones for cost and efficiency purposes? They are actually a 5" cushion, which is much more comfortable than the standard 3" typically used in a booth application. One good solution for getting even more is to place a closed-cell foam under the cushion to make it even more plush if desired.
