  • Dungeons are a big part in RPGs, usually focus on enemies, treasure hunts, secrets, and map designs. Final dungeons are that, but enhanced.
What I want to focus on in this video isn't those things, but how important they are in the lore of each respective game of FINAL FANTASY, in a thematic and story-related way.

    PART 2 OUT NOW: ruclips.net/video/aaITCql27A4/видео.html
Oh hi there. While I can't pretend I know my stuff about game and level designs to talk about that in the topic of dungeons, I'm a vivid Lore/wiki/datalog/active time lore Reader! So wanted to focus on that aspects of the endings/final dungeons of Final Fantasy, starting for the first main ones.
    Thanks for watching ! ♥

When I saw the Interdimensional Rift in FF16 I was immediatly expecting the place to transform into other places of the game. I don't think it did much except those scenes where Clive was going through it, seeing back his hometown and such, so I want to count them

Working on it right now for part 2, and I can tell you what I remember from it: getting fucked up by non stop enemies so I ran to a room instead and suddenly I was at the final bosses lmao so I'll check it out better while I do research. But hey, the ship is very epic in terms of being the decisive battle of the war, like Code Geass

@@DroWarriorOfLight yes urghhh I can never forget how frustrated I was finishing FF12. After such epic conclusions in previous FF games to finish like that...horrible! Ruined the game and the epic journey up to that point

Time travel is a shit concept that no franchise has been able to properly portray

I wouldn't disagree with that. The first FF for example is not exactly known for an immersive and deep story, it's more of the journey itself than the narrative, the time loop is just there

FF XIII-2 does a very good job at diving into time travel and its consequences (paradox).

@@Vayne_Solidor oh for sure! I love the 3 XIII in general, and in particular I don't mind the XIII-2 time stuff because it's confined for that game itself, and doesn't go beyond before where the first XIII ended or after the time when LR starts, but it's more of an adventure of jumping back and forth to see the different places at different moments and sometimes with or withouit consequences like the whole tomato flans thingies etc, and there's so many secrets to uncover to travel to those places that it feels like a nice little adventure, in between the sadness at the end lmao

@@DroWarriorOfLight I would say XIII-2 is the only game I know where time travel makes sense. You see areas in different times. Actions in the past have consequences in the future, and so the paradox worlds can exist.
Oh and I am a big fan of the trilogy thanks to this game. And LR was unique and the battle system is great. I only dislike the first XIII a bit.
