    Oh hi there. While I can't pretend I know my stuff about game and level designs to talk about that in the topic of dungeons, I'm a vivid Lore/wiki/datalog/active time lore Reader! So wanted to focus on that aspects of the endings/final dungeons of Final Fantasy, in this case about the last ones plus some spin offs I consider super important.

    Good work, Dro. Here are some things regarding the final dungeons of Final Fantasy XIII trilogy that may interest you. These are my observations.
    Orphan's Cradle and Academia 500AF are quite similar in that they both have unusual shapes and layouts. The reason for this being the Chaos distorting the space. So, that would mean that the alternate dimension in which Orphan's Cradle resides is a flooded with Chaos (or is pure Chaos), just like Academia 500AF. In Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns, Chaos is revealed to be the heart of all creations in Fabula Nova Crystallis, that would include fal'Cie and their own creations. Orphan's Cradle is said to be the heart of fal'Cie Eden, and a reflection of its complex operating system. Crystal is just frozen Chaos, now tamed for manageable use. If you ever get a chance, revisit Final Fantasy XIII, and go to the Cathedral in Edenhall, then open the fullscreen map before triggering the cutscene. Your mind may be blown by the eerie but familiar image in the background. After having played Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns, that image was a pleasant surprise.
    The Cosmogenesis, realm of the gods, is the same place Lightning and her companions were transported into by fal'Cie Anima and branded l'Cie by the god Pulse, whom they meet there. Scary sight. Lives were changed forever. So the first time they went to the Cosmogenesis, the party was forced into servitude by a god. The second time they go there, the party fights to free themselves from a god's hold. It comes full circle. Interesting thing is: Snow and Vanille have been inside the Cosmogenesis three times, while everyone else has only been there twice. And Snow is the first human ever to be branded a l'Cie twice. What a fun guy. Pulse must've been confused when branding him.

      I love it, that's a great point to pay attention to. Because I'm someone who loves the Fabula Nova Crystallis myth and lore and have LR as my top 2 game maybe, but that love for the myth came after the first game of the trilogy so I unconsciously don't link the chains of events of 13 with the bigger scheme of things, but rather mostly with the relationship Fal'Cie-l'Cie-humans. So in my future %100 run I can focus on that to have a wider views (I could read the datalog for 3 hours and be more entertained than playing other games lmao)

    Very cool places but also I like those dramatic moments with music where the characters discover or reach the place, like Noctis arriving to Insomnia with SOMNUS, very nice feeling.
    Also, like we talked before, the fortress in XII is not only the Damocles like ship, but also Vayne absorbs part of it to become the undying and throw megaflares accordingly. I don't think there's other "final dungeon" that counts technically also as "final boss" 😮

      I indeed absorb parts of SF Bahamut to use the power of the Esper with that very name.
      And Somnus is one of the best final area themes in the series, alongside Labyrinth of Chaos.

      Also, an addition: Stranger of Paradise ends in the Chaos Shrine like in FF1. However, the true final dungeon is the home of the Lufenians. In this period, they all were defeated, so in FF1, Lufenia has no control over the world anymore.

      There was something really cool about rewatching those moments and seeing the fortress appearing in the sky as a tornado or inside of it. I should have add, as a friend mentioned me, that the fortress tag along in the final fight too as Vayne (you :O) got all that debris from the ship itself like a magnet

      @@DroWarriorOfLight Indeed, the Undying basically becomes Bahamut by absorbing parts of the ship and using it for all the famous attacks known from the Esper, like Teraflare.

    I'm pretty salty 16 doesn't have one. Origin isn't a dungeon it's a cutscene😡

      lmao imagine me, that my first reaction to being a cutscene/boss fight (besides double checking) was to check out every other past game and make lore videos about them, and here I am 🤣

      16 is a really bad final fantasy. The only good thing they've done are the boss battles and by boss, I mean only the storyline bosses. Fighting optionnal bosses was just to repetitive and not enough satisfying. Apart from that I felt annoyed all along my playthrough, waiting for interesting side quests, something interesting to find during the exploration, an optional dungeon .
      Come on even mog and chocobo are useless.
      The music are not so great compared with previous titles.
      I'm highly angry about this game

      @@specialnewb9821 go and restart a previous entry and you will get what I'm saying
      I've played 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 12 13 13-2 13-3 15 16 and my absolute worst titles are 2 and i place 16 just above it
      Every final fantasy even ff2 have something else apart for the battles
      It can be God Class OST, nice encounters such as (useful chocobo mog) tomberry cactuar Gilgamesh, fun side quests breathtaking places, difficult dungeons, bad ass villain, exploration, good replayability etc...
      16 has none of that
      Just a great Cid
      Great boss battles
      And great summons.
      It fails on every other criteria i've listed. And that's bad really really bad.

      You know, I was actually thinking of doing a run collecting and/or showcasing that type of thing. Because I adore XV and need a reason to replay, and just to show the details put into it that can be ignored if not paying attention
