  • Fishing Videos | Saltwater Fishing | Blackfin Tuna Kayak Fishing Navarre Beach Florida. This is a Bucket list Catch for me and after losing a fish in last week's episode, this was sweet redemption. Navarre Florida has an incredibly unique fishery with conditions that allow species like the Blackfin Tuna to come within a mile of the beach, and be targeted from a kayak on calm days. We took the kayaks out, launching from Navarre Beach before sunrise, and trolled for a couple of hours until we all were able to hook up on and land blackfin Tuna. AWESOME DAY!

I think regular hook gaffs are a bad option for kayaks. You don't have good leverage with them and I've lost a few fish because of that. I think I'm going to buy the proyaker spear gaff next time I go ocean fishing based on some forum reviews.

They're still being caught here and there but the numbers are going down as the water heats up. You may be able to get lucky but I don't think the bite is very consistent anymore

Could someone help me please. I just moved to Navarre Florida, and I completely lost with fishing regulations and seasons. Can you give me where to go to obtain all the information before I get in trouble.

      Welcome to the area!
If you Google search "Florida Fishing Regulations" the first link that pops up should be for FWC's official site and will take you straight to the regs. You can select regs by species, or if you scroll to the bottom there are downloadable PDF files of the entire regs for the state. Keep in mind, Atlantic and Gulf are very different, and even certain water management areas differ drastically so once you are viewing the regs, make sure to read the fine print and find the specific sections pertaining to the management area you're fishing.
I also highly recommend downloading the app called "Fish Rules." It is an up to date database of nearly all species and it uses the location data from your phone to determine the exact regs for the area you're at in that exact moment, every time you reopen the app. You can click any species and it'll tell you if it's open season, size limits, hook/tackle limitations, and much more. It makes it very quick and easy. I always have my phone with me and if I catch something I'm unsure about the first thing I do is open uo Fish Rules.
