  • Tuna fishing in the Outer Banks during some very rough weather. The good thing about fishing during rough weather is that the fish usually bite well, the downside is that it often makes it difficult to fish. We were very fortunate this day to get plenty of bites in short order, landing nearly all of them before having to work our way inshore to calmer seas.

Thanks! Those seas with that boat were definitely safe, just very challenging to fish in towards the end of the video when we decided to head for calmer waters

Great video Nolan! Thanks for sharing. We just fished down there last Wednesday and Thursday with beautiful Wx but a slow bite. Any chance you’d share where you found the fish? Thanks!

Not a secret spot, we were just fishing on a good day. This was filmed in February, I heard the fishing was super slow Wednesday/Thursday across the board for Oregon Inlet and Hatteras. Calm seas usually don't make for a good troll bite unfortunately!

3-5 foot seas? Rough? 😂 Dude, I've been out at Diamond Shoals when it was 20+ ft and THAT is rough. please be safe and don't be anywhere off Cape Hatteras when it's really rough, unless you're in a 44' MLB like I was. 😁

@@nolanminor6761 size does matter, but I had to chuckle when they said "rough" - as I said, I've been out there when it's really rough and it's not fun, you're not fishing, just trying to stay alive.

@@nolanminor6761 got it. Here in Oregon Albacore (the true Albacore) is all we’ve got besides a few other rarer tuna. Do you guys harvest any of them? I think they are a great tasting fish.

A few of those get caught in North Carolina but primarily further north and still not a common catch like on the west coast.@@ben3989

Just show the video no introduction and music. I rather listen to you than music that makes no sense. Sorry once I saw the first few seconds I’m not even watching the rest. Do you you know about happy ending. It happens at the end not the beginning and showing us what you catch is stupid. When you go to the movies do you want to know the end.
