  • The Gourmet Defroster - Feeding that is Well Thawed Out.
    Do you really have 5 minutes to “defrost” frozen fish food in a cup? We certainly don’t.
    The Gourmet Defroster is the fast, effective and simple way of feeding your fish frozen food. Our Patent-Pending Gourmet Defroster has taken all the hassle and frustration out of frozen food feeding and gives you numerous features that you’ll love!
    Just drop a cube and go, and let this 3-in-1, magnet-mounted defroster thaw, separate, and dispense frozen food all by itself! Its open/close pivoting design gives you an adjustable release setting that allows for portion control and the ability to regulate the amount of food that is released into your tank. This keeps more food in their mouths, and less in your filter.
    With the Gourmet Defroster’s easy disassembly, it also doubles as a feeding ring for freeze-dried and larger floating frozen food. When combined with the Gourmet Grinder you can feed flake and pellet food adding variety and a balance of healthy nutrients! The Defroster’s ring corrals the food in one place so the food doesn’t drift all around your tank, which keeps your fish fed and your water crystal clear.

    This product is absolutely fantastic, I run a 350ltr high tech freshwater planted community tank and I have a very smart Pygmy pufferfish that has learnt to enter the feeder through one of the top holes it gets to have a good feed while not getting bothered by the more aggressive feeders in the tank, it still has the opportunity to eat snails in my tank but now gets variety by also getting to eat white mosquito larvae and bloodworms a great design, great looking and worth every penny..

    Honestly it would be better if the top part was non see through. I bought one but the fish keep biting the top part for 10 mins after the food is dropped in.

    awesome product there is just one thing I need to know :) when feeding freshwater fish frozen food its necessary to wash it, at least that's what I've been told. how to coop with that?
    thanks!

    • @innovativemarine

      +Potion of Kings We have been told that rinsing your frozen food will keep phosphates from entering your tank, this is true. However a study that was written by Holmes-Farley states that while rising does remove phosphates from your food those phosphates are almost undetectable and will have no impact on your levels in your aquarium.
      Most if not all frozen food manufactures don't want to be black balled and have the finger pointed at them. So we believe that most frozen foods out there are safe to just add into your aquarium without having to rinse prior.

    Or just put frozen cube in a net and use the top to hold the net and bam u get this but not stress your fish by getting stuck in this spot.Imagine a smaller to medium size in there eating and a large fish rams it to eat some too.Just use a net people

    • @lindarichardson3708
      @lindarichardson3708 6 лет назад

      exactly.... nitrates and phosphates go right into the water body if not defrosted first. bad idea and overpriced

      what do you mean? if i defrost my food in a little cup then i usually pour the water with the defrosted food into the tank how else do you do it?

    • @Bigpoecilia
      @Bigpoecilia 5 лет назад

      @@WaRSPiRiTUK I never pour that defrosted water in my tank. It always seems to cause some type of film to attach to the sides , floor, rocks,etc. When I rinse it first then no issues.

      I just defrost in a small ziploc bag. Place frozen cube in a ziploc bag and then hang that in water of aquarium or a cup on the side. The frozen food melts but no water mixes so you just take the bag out of water and add the defrosted food without any water at all.
