    I love my defroster. Chunk a cube in and walk off, or sit and watch.I prefer the veggie clips. My tang doesn't tear the sheets off and it's easily visible as food. The IM grazer holds too much of the nori that the fish can't get too.

    Excellent review on the Gourmet Defroster and Seaweed Grazer by Innovative Marine. After watching your video on these two products it helped me see which product would be best to purchase. I am definitely going to be picking up the Gourmet Defroster. Excellent review and outstanding video.

    Actually, with the seaweed feeder, you yourself could kick start the process of them recognising it as a food source by clipping a piece of sea weed in front of it for the first time when you are switching over to this. It should make for a much more natural transition for it as a food source. :)

    when we thaw frozen food we throw away the "nasty" water. so, when using the Gourmet Defroster Frozen Food Feeder, what exactly happens to that pollution here?

    • @FishyDrizzy
      @FishyDrizzy 9 лет назад +3

      ***** exactly what I was thinking!

    • @coralfish12g
      @coralfish12g  9 лет назад

      ***** Most of the "pollution" happens when you put too much food in at a time and it goes into the filter. Because it slowly comes out and gives the fish plenty of time to get it all, that does not happen.

      CoralFish12g It is a bit of a myth that you need to rinse frozen food, to prevent higher levels of phosphates and nitrates entering the tank. A study was done a few years back, and showed that the levels of phosphates in the water of frozen food that had not been rinsed, was very minimal. I just chop the cube into bits and throw it in. Frozen food can be rinsed and kept in the fridge for up to 5 days. There is nothing wrong with this product, it is just not needed in my humble opinion.

      Usually this happens if something in your system has changed. Like lights or parameters. Check your water and see if everything looks good. Did you change your lighting or flow?

      mohamed alhamadi Thanks for helping yousafjan1 It might be that your water is too clean. Xenia are weird in that some people can keep them really easily and some people struggle. They like dirty water and yeah sometime they will just curl up and die out of nowhere.

      Any fish that is already eating frozen will quickly figure out where the food is coming from. They are smart little animals.
