This needs more holes. I am thinking about drilling more holes to get more flow into the cup. I also notice that I can not leave the cup in the tank as it starts to get a film on top and the cup gets nasty over 2 or 3 days. I would like to just leave it in the tank but the flow into the cup is not great....unless you have something pointed right at it.
Hahaha what's the point if the food comes out the holes in the sides of this. I just bought and tried it. All the food came out the side holes that was an epic fail. Very disappointed 👎🏼👎🏼
Is it possible to turn off all flow in your aquarium and then ensure the top holes are above the water line? This way the food just slowly floats down. -Robert @ MD
Let us know how it works! I use this defroster in my small 20 gallon tank and it works great, as long as I turn of the water flow or else food just goes everywhere like you said. -Robert @ MD
I can understand the confusion. Give it whirl with less flow and I think you will be pleased. Much of this just depends on the food you are using and exactly how much flow is going through the ports. I think the idea Innovative Marine is trying to display in the video is that as long as you have a little water flow going into the top ports, frozen food will more easily defrost and dispense. Personally, I like to slow feed and keep it contained and out of my filters so I have a habit of turning off all water flow in the tank when I feed. Experiment with the position and water flow to see what works best for your fish and the type of food you feed. Floating pellets vs a frozen cube would probably act much different in various flow situations. I do hope this helps and feel free to respond back anytime! -Robert @ MD

Marine Depot Aquarium Supplies weird though in your video you have high water flow. Confused about that.

it seems a good product but is way overpriced in my opinion.
