    Man.. this cigar is my favorite smoke ever. Period. I’ve tried a lot of different stuff, but this one just blew my mind. Very expensive, but worth the money in my opinion. Wish I could afford to smoke it regularly.

      Indeed. They are super pricey, but man, they have almost ruined a lot of other cigars for me.
      (I’ve decided I actually like the late hour even more... that thing is unbelievable)

    My favorite cigar released in 2015 so far. I prefer the robusto and toro as they have an added complexity that warrants the price for me. The last third is definitely the best part. Very cubanesque as far as flavor progression goes.

    • @CutLightSmoke
      @CutLightSmoke  8 лет назад +3

      I will have to try out the other sizes. It was a good stick, but for the price, I'd probably go for a Padron 1926 first, personally. Cheers!

    I tried the robusto and the toro from the Davidoff Winston Churchill line. I found them pretty insipid, with complete wind-tunnel draws and a weird and unpleasant somewhat minty/menthol quality (like you sometimes get from the hot nub of young cigars) behind some slightly bitter, dry and dusty earth, used coffee grounds and sour wood notes. They even had a hint of a metallic note which you only ever find in the worst quality tobacco crops. Awful cigars.
    I also find the Late Hour versions thoroughly bland and with a slightly acrid and charred quality from the used bourbon barrels. The bourbon flavour does not translate well into cigars and the whole maturing cigar tobaccos in casks thing makes no sense to me - you're only damaging the oils in the tobacco, removing complexity and instead infusing the leaves with the acrid and bitter leftovers of the charred barrel (ie, the taste of a little bit of whisky left in the bottom of your glass for hours to lose the alcohol, which is nasty, with old, damp charred wood). The only "bourbon infused" cigars I've tried that were worse were those Perdomo barrel-aged garbage. Just cannot understand the hype over these massively overpriced things.

    How do you get to taste more flavors from your cigars ?

    • @CutLightSmoke
      @CutLightSmoke  4 года назад

      Smoke slower, make sure your cigars are stored at proper humidity levels so they smoke at the right temp, retro-hale, pay attention to flavors intently instead of passively smoking, reference a flavor wheel to help identify what you're tasting, only drink water when smoking.

      When at its best this could easily demand 50- 100 even (yes I mean that, was heavenly and made me reconsider what tobacco can do )but unfortunately I've spent much searching for that one experience I had that started it all and last couple I had are just so boring and bland compared.. one thing might be effecting mine is temperature control I admit I'm not doing that correctly.. can smoke one from a shop I know has them .. but remember I did that while ago from a different store and same experience that wasn't like the first.. my one dollar cigars get good in my humidity control though so not too sure on the temp thing
