A good cigar, a good sip of whiskey, a kind hearted woman, a smiling and happy child, a courageous and loving hound, there’s nothing else that are better in life.
You nailed it bro. Agreed
Maybe someday I will have all that. Now all I have is some good whiskey. It just isn’t the same when the other things are missing. 😔
A kind- hearted woman. What's that?
That is so close to my life it's shocking

I'm a black guy in my 30's and I had deep conversations with people from all walks of life: older white gentlemen, guys visiting from abroad, men from Africa and I could go on. This is all through cigars. It's definitely a bonding thing.

Hey Black Guy, guess what? No one cares if you're black. Do you see anyone else saying, "I'm a White/Latino/Asian guy in my...."? No, so STOP IT Already.
Glad cigars have you bonding with good people based on this wonder hobby. Not based on you being "a black guy".
@@stevoswag95This is one of the few times it makes sense. A lot of people now think that we should hate each other (I'm black) and that's not true. Nothing wrong with folks smoking a good cigar and sipping whiskey together.
Where do you find that many people to smoke with? Do you go to a local cigar shop and hang out? Sounds like a good time.
This may sound crazy, but what drew me first to cigar smoking was the open minded and polite people I met and talked to at the cigar lounge in my neighborhood. People who were curious and patient and willing to talk and listen to each other. Lots of deep and meaningful conversations.

People that don't understand or put them down are the one that don't slow down for the enjoyment of life. It's not about being cool or looking like you are rich guy It's about slowing down and really taking time to feel alive. You said it very well, thank you !

Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- 'Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because your post gave me cancer anyway.
Honestly, he’s heavily increased the chances of me smoking cigars.

Do it
Did you know that cigars highly increase your chances of enjoying the quiet times in life?
DO NOT do it. Trust me, I wish to god that I never started. I had to quit when i had my first open heart surgery a decade ago. Life has not only changed drastically for me but its become a lot harder at a time and age I needed to be at my top condition. You don't want to go into your Golden Years unhealthy (thats if you make it).Theres no way around, unless you die from something else before you retire, you are guaranteed to wind up like me if you smoke. The sickest part is that whileyour family has to learn to live without you, the people who own the tobacco companies drive fancy cars, live in mansions and put their kids through private schools and college while you tobacco addiction drains your wallet and eventually leavers your family without a father (or a severely weakened one until that day comes). like being dependant on your wife and kids ? Go ahead and smoke, watch what happens. Ask the tobacco company execs if they smoke,if their kids smoke. Their families live in luxury while you burden yours. it creeps upon you and the damage is done before you even know it. the BIGGEST mistake is thinking pipe tobacco is not addictive, lol. Smoke it and see what happens. The nicotine, as i found out too late, is every bit as addictive as cigarette tobacco. Yes, even if you don't inhale. its absorbed through in your mouth. Hope this helps at least one person.
I would be interested to know how much exercise you got in those years, what your diet was like in those years, what your natural genetic predisposition to health is like. Cigars are real easy target and people tend to blame a lot of things for. But it is very rare that health problems boil down to one easy, simple Choice. You said yourself that you smoked cigarettes first, and there is no way to ascertain how much damage was done by the cigarettes before anything else. I think you are being a little bit simplistic in your view of this subject. Now, I sympathize with your health problems, and I hate anybody has to go through that. I’m not making light of your troubles.
I love your content, your voice is calming and you seem to be so down to earth. Thank you for putting kindness and wisdom back into this world.

And I started to really get into cigars a few months ago and one of my favorite things to do when I get home early from work is light up a cigar and do a bunch of yard work. It’s nice.
My grandpa got me into cigars. We spent a lot of days with a glass of whiskey and a cigar next to the fire. Usually weekly. We'd share hunting stories, talk about life, or just hang out and enjoy the quiet. He died last year.
Now when I smoke, I usually smoke alone. Its usually a time of reflection. Sometimes it's a time of planning. Tonight, its a little bit of both.

Sir I'm a 30 year old man. I'm not much of a cigar guy myself but a personal philosophy I've always lived by and has never done me wrong is this. smoking cigar or pipe is not the same as smoking cigarette. first of all, you don't inhale their smoke. it is forbidden. second of all, cigar or pipe smoker can live for months or years without wanting to smoke more. third of all, they live until death of natural cause.
So happy you enjoyed his videos! I am a cigar smoking enthusiast , but I never force cigars on people. Smoking a cigar to me is a form of meditation to me. But that's my experience & just my opinion.
Well stated. I really appreciate your non scripted, off the cuff, honest thoughts and feelings. As a guy that also enjoys cigars, I found that everything you said resonated with me. Great video.
I must say that cigars have definitely helped me from wanting to twist most people's necks shut. After 30 years of smoking cigarettes, I was able to quit. but after a few months I've found myself in a cigar bar with friends on a bachelor party and I was amazed on how I was able to this day to enjoy 1 maybe 2 cigars a week and not have cravings for cigarettes. Did you know that secondhand smoke is actually harmful for people, including non smokers. People who do not smoke, but are around secondhand smoke, are 25-30% MORE LIKELY to develop heart disease. Did you know that secondhand smoke causes over 34,000 premature deaths from heart disease every year in the United States? When someone smokes next to you, they are not only disregarding the health and safety of themselves, but they are also willingly putting others at risk. That is why there has been a huge shift to smoke free environments.
Incredible thought process. Truely loved it. Thank you❤️
I grew up in South Florida and learned about cigars from old Cuban men that would spend all day long smoking cigars and playing dominoes. In my early20's I had the pleasure of living next to an old Torcedor named Victor who taught me a LOT about growing, curing, rolling, aging, storing, and smoking a good cigar. Although it may be a different world down here than where you are sir, everything you spoke of in this video rings true from what I learned hanging around Victor. It's a fast paced world here and everyone is in a hurry to get no where fast. But when it's time to smoke, you find a nice comfortable spot, pour a nice drink, light up and relax.
It seems a lot of people have also pointed this out but the way he starts the video by encouraging people to learn about things they don’t know about it some of the best advice anyone can give.

Thanks for the addressing this, the “war against tobacco” created a whole generation who misunderstand that cigar and pipe smokers are not the same as cigarette smokers.
They do not inhale smoke into their lungs to get a nicotine hit like cigarette smokers do, but only onto their mouth and nasal cavity.
Enjoying the taste of a hand rolled cigar or sipping the taste from a well blended tobacco from a hand made briar pipe, while enjoying a beautiful sunset with friends at the end of a good day by a fire side is one of the finer things in life.
Wisdom and sound judgment comes from a those who live a balanced contemplative lifestyle.
There is a reason the Native American Indians referred to it as the peace pipe.

You got it. You were talking about cigars, but you actually are addressing the whole issue of life. Do we do what everyone else is doing or do we wait, think, meditate and chart our own course. I don't smoke cigars, but I got the message loud and clear. Superb, lets be men and be wise, slow down and be thoughtful. Now that I am old, 68 in October, I enjoy taking my time although I have much less time than I had before. I learned, much of the frustration of my life was living with the anguish of my hurried decisions. Now I love to consider and think of a project in my mind. Then when it is well thought out applying the wisdom of what I thought through for weeks or months. It is manly wisdom, a cigar of life not a cigarette. Maybe you have to be old enough to slow down and appreciate what you just said.
Very wise words, sir! I'm turning 30 in a few days and over the past 3 years started to get away from a pack of cigarettes a day and being hammered every weekend, and substituted that with reading biographies of the great men in history and enjoying a cigar every now and then. Absolutely. In an attempt to find a healthier alternative to smoking weed, I switched to a dry herb vape. 1-2 hits of my Dynavap and I'd be blasted. As a fairly new cigar smoker, you give a accurate explanation about cigars and clear up the misconceptions that most people have about them. The reasons you give are a lot like the reasons why I smoke cigars which I thought that was interesting. Wholeheartedly agree on how cigars force you to slow down and contemplate. Never thought about it like that until you mentioned it. Up until now, I always enjoyed my time with a cigar but never realized that it was really the TIME that I was most appreciating, and the cigar was nothing but a doorway into that brief state of mind that is so important in such a fast-paced world.

I just stumbled across this video. Everything you said is exactly why I smoke cigars. I started about 3 1/2 years ago and smoke at least a couple a day. I became infatuated with the idea of cigar smoking about a year before I started. I loved reading about the history and process of what goes into cigar making and I still do. Last year, I visited Tampa on a short vacation and was able to tour a factory belonging to the oldest family-owned cigar company in the US. It was one of the coolest tours I’ve been on.
Did you ever listen to Rush Limbaugh's radio show ? He was a big cigar aficionado also.

I really appreciate the fact that you pointed out the differences in ingredients between premium hand-rolled cigars and cigarettes/gas station “cigars”. That is something I always point out to people who are curious about my cigar hobby but think it’s the same as cigarettes. Sir, well done. You nailed it.
This is a great video. I've been a cigar smoker for almost 10 years now, and I absolutely agree with what you have spoken about.
This is a legendary video, especially for the last part about men needing to slow down ,,I feel at home with this, great video
This may be a broad statement, but i will "stick" to it because, for me, its true. I have never met a "bad" person who is a genuine cigar smoker. The guys who are closest to me are all guys i met through a local cigar shop. We met at what the owner called "smoke session's" (just a gathering on the last Saturday of a month for smokers to get together and congregate.) These men i met have become my best friends and each one if from a different walk of life. Black, white , hispanic, liberal, conservative, Christian, Moore, Southern or Yankee. We are all different but through our love of cigars and conversation, we have become brothers and even formed our own smoke club and built a Lounge. We went from a group of 5 to 12 in less than a year and are atill growing. This is what this world needs. A slow down that leads to open and non confrontational meetings. That leads to making friends and not enemies. You are right sir. The world needs a slow down, a cigar, a good drink and a meaninful conversation among MEN.
Very glad I found this video. I am just getting back in to cigars after a 4-5 year hiatus. Thanks for eloquently explaining the appeal of cigars to even the non-smokers. From those who already know and appreciate fine cigars....I think we all agree with every word you said.
Much respect to you. Insanely chill way of speaking. I appreciate you sharing this!
thank you soo much from italy , i just got into cigars , after seeing your video i realized that i should just to take my time and enjoy the moment and just contemplate and just live the moment and dont be in hurry for once , thank you soo much i love your video
Thank's for your time and afford my good man .
All the best for your self and those who close to you.
Good on you mate .👍
Found your channel yesterday, I’m glad I found it, I am a person who enjoys cigars and pondering life, I love listening to your stories and your advise on life. As a man who feels fairly lost most days, it’s great to catch some inspiration from you and I thank you for this content. Smoking a my father as I watch you. Keep up the good work.
I recently got into the world of cigars myself. It truly is the old world slow style of producing and smoking of cigars that truly interests me. Everything about cigars is deliberate. From growing the tobacco up to finishing a cigar. Nothing can be rushed. Otherwise the whole experience is ruined. Thank you for this video sir.
Exactly right! Love your content…keep it up brother.
Cigars have always appealed to me since I started smoking, it always seemed like a celebration piece. I've always seen myself sitting out in the summer, watching the dogs run around while enjoying a cigar on a beautiful day or around the fire with friends/family unwinding. I've always wanted to try smoking a cigar because of those peaceful images in my head about them. You definitely solidified that fact.
The reason why I still haven't tried cigars is simply because it seems like a large learning curve for just a smoke (though not a bad thing). I'd love to see a video on how to properly smoke cigars and maybe different types you like/recommend for beginners. Who knows, maybe I'll be out finally enjoying a cigar this summer.
I say summer because im Canadian so just a quick cigarette in the winter isn't very fun, let alone a long smoke like cigars haha. Look forward to seeing more on your cigar knowledge!
The educational value in your videos are beyond words Sir. 🇺🇸🦅
Man, I love this explanation of the cigar life...and I am a coffee connoisseur and breaking down coffee and cigars the same way is why I am into both...Cigars erve a purpose that's way more complex than what a cigarette is, by far. Cigar smoking brings you a moment to collect your thoughts, to process life and toe contemplate their next steps. Cigar smoking brings this in spades.
Exactly
What would you have to say about coffee?
I did have to laugh when he said, 'As a coffee connoisseur walking into Starbucks'. If you really appreciate coffee, Starbucks is the last place you want to be. It tastes like old burnt toast unless you mix it with 1500 calories worth of sugar, cream and artificial caramel flavor.
I love this man from the bottom of my heart, teaching me and others how to relax, live life and be a man. I'm in the middle of my teen years and I'm already thinking about cigars and taking life slow but peaceful. God bless everyone!
Exactly why I got into cigars. My time to slow down, be alone and relax. Haven't been to a cigar lounge yet but looking forward to going soon and be with others with the same hobby.
Stumbled across this video and thank you for articulating into words so concisely how I feel about cigars and coffee and honestly, life in general. Things that are worth something take time to make and enjoy.
Give this man a podcast, just his knowledge is so calming
ur wish has been granted
I got into Cigars last year, after smoking cigarettes since I was 17. I'm 30 now and I can honestly say: they are fun to collect, they have an amazing history behind them, and the flavor is just bar none. I don't ever feel the need to pick up a cigarette ever again.
Your lungs will thank you
Dwayne sir, you are my hero! I always wanted to explain the love of cigars I have but never could get the right words together. You sir should do cigar commercials! Because of this video I am a new subscriber. Spectacular my friend of the leaf, keep ‘em comin!
Dewayne, you nailed it! I read once, “Smoking a cigar is the last, best thing a man can do in solitude to relax.” That’s when I decided to enjoy cigars. I’ve been enjoying now for 18 years. I’m a new subscriber. Thanks for your videos.
Sir, I would like to say I really appreciate the content you put on this channel, coming from someone who is just starting to get into the horse world. The content is extremely informative and educational! Thank you lots, sir.
I could listen to this man talk about any subject. I love my Cigars and whiskey! Thanks for uploading sir.
I have learned so much from this man!!! Thank you for your Wisdom ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Liga Privada. Great choice, Sir. One of my favorites.
I had no idea Sam Elliot smoked cigars! I was expecting him to say “Coors, the banquet beer”.
All jokes aside…I really enjoyed your video as a fellow cigar enthusiast and the calm and soothing sound of your voice and the vibe of your video is, in essence, the way a cigar needs to be enjoyed: slow and calmly but with intent. For me personally, I collect and smoke cigars to help with my hindering anxiety issues. Smoking cigars is a practice in mindfulness, to be in the moment and to use an overly utilized quote… to stop and smell the roses. Love your video.
I can so relate dude, there are days at work, that all that keeps me going is deciding which stick Im gonna smoke when I get home.
@@jacobv4564 Haha!!
I’m only laughing because I also have those days. I get into that back and forth trance in my mind like a ping pong ball that is teetering between a chocolaty maduro or a toasty-caramel Connecticut… but the ball gets hit way out into left field by the habano bleachers… yeah, I think I put too much thought and effort into this reply…
Here’s to you and anyone/everyone else who might be or will be enjoying one as well. Cheers and hope yours is a good one! 👍
I quit cigarettes nearly 30 years ago. Glad I did. I feel better. More recently I have begun smoking a pipe for the same reasons you mentioned about cigars. The 2 times that I am able to concentrate & figure out answers are in the morning when I first wake but before I open my eyes. In that state I am able to visualize and manipulate in my mind in ways that are difficult later in the day. I guess it because of distractions. The only other time I’ve been able to focus like that is at the end of the day with chores done & a sit back with a pipe & a good tobacco. It helps me to be still & shut out all the outside noise. If I’m not working on some solution the peace and quiet are very relaxing.
There are no health benefits to smoking
@@MassachusettsTrainVideos1136 Who gives a f**k man. There are no health benefits to working a stressful job until your 70 years old, and being to be too old to do the stuff you always wanted to do. Just to get dementia and die. Let people be.
@@KrisVic91 I guess that would be true in America where Healthcare is not public, in other countries if you fuck up your health not only you will be dealing the consequences but every one else too.
@@ricardf1857 i live in a country with public healthcare. Don't understand your point?
@@ricardf1857 does that person not pay taxes also?
I have smoked good cigars for years - your perspective is fresh and delightful! Thanks!
I love me a good cigar. I found that my cigar choices are usually dependent on my environment. Got my yard work cigar, wedding or special occasion cigar, camping cigar, work break cigar, breakfast cigar, social cigar, good mood cigar, fml cigar, and so many more. I love reflecting my cigars off my mood and environment. Its like an art to me.
