Beautiful job. That's a perfect bass boat and very convenient for hard to get spots

    Very clean sir, Great job!
I do have a suggestion though.---Mount your fire extinguisher towards the bow, if a fire breaks out, it will be near the Transom (where you don't want to be near.)

Great job on your boat. I also wanted to minimize drilling holes in my boat. I have also been wondering what to do about my nav lights. Your video has helped. I like your setup. Thanks for posting this video.

Simple, functional and real clean. Wouldn't a forward mounted battery help with weight distribution?

Get a rubber grommet in that hole ya drilled. It will save those wires, even with the sleeve.Nice boat overall. And coat your stainless hardware and holes with the recommended product to stop electrolysis from rusting the stainless and chipping the paint on the Aluminium. Adding a sacrifice to the transom helps if you have a lot of non aluminum metals on the boat. Put a thick layer of rubber or a foam yoga mat under your battery. And your breaker. It will all help prevent battery drain, and corrosion. And light flooring, even a restaurant kitchen mat. The 2 inch thick kind. Get the stress off the hull rivets . Just some cheap tricks to get your investment to last. !!!!! Stay away from pressure treated wood!!!!
I love my 14’ flat bottom. I’m sure you love yours

One thing I noticed that needs changing is where the wires come out at the bow of the boat. You have wires coming out through a hole you drilled and you don't have a grommet to prevent the metal from chewing through the insulation and shorting out the wiring. It is extremely important to have a rubber grommet or something to prevent that from a short circuit, its only a matter of time before that happens. Consider the vibration particularly when operating the outboard, every impulse is rubbing those wires on the bare metal hole, slowing chewing the way through the insulation on those wires. If you haven't already changed it, I'm sure an inspection will show you the abrasion on those wires.

Haha, for someone who didnt want to drill a lot of holes, you did drill a few. I think with the length of the battery cable it will cost you some amps. I like your boat though👍🏻

Very clean setup! I have a 1036 and am finding it's too short. Had a 14' got tired of the trailer & went to the 1036. A 1236 would be great to throw in the truck.

awesome boat man ,, I REALLY like the boat oar bracket you made , super clean and cool looking , everything really ….. OK a year later , do you still have it and use it ?...….. I love fishing but im on the fence as to which way to go , boat wise ,, kayak or jon boat ,,, I just don't want payments and I want to be able to stand up and fish like normal …. looking to do a similar set up as yours , I like the motor and everything ,, I hope to hear back about the boat and your thoughts about it a year later , Please ,Thanks , nice video

Thanks. I do still have it, and use it almost every weekend. It will fish 2 guys comfortably as long as you dont make real abrupt movements. I'm looking to put a foot guide trolling motor on it, do to the fact that I have learned it's hard to fish with a hand guide. I just haven't figured out how I want to mount the foot guide yet.

    • @chasestookey9684

I back in as far as I can without getting the waterline onto the hubs of the trailer. I'm not sure if the hubs are submergible or not, so that's why I don't back it on in. I push/pull the boat while standing on the trailer. I do not have to take the motor off, I just tilt it up as far as it will go.

Do you have a video on how you handle the boat at the boat ramp with this trailer? Do you back it in so the back of the plywood is under water and then pull/push the boat while standing in the water? I have the same trailer and usually take the motor off so the boat is lighter for loading unloading, but wondering if there is a better way.

Yes, I have fished with another person several times. It gets a bit tippy, but as long as you pay attention we haven’t had any problems. Adding another person definitely is a struggle for my little 5hp. It will get us where we need to go no problem, but I takes some time.

3 persons or 365 lbs. 480 lbs with motor, gear, & persons. I have fished in this boat with 2 (200lbs) people, gear, motor, battery etc. It had no problem with us in there. This set up will run 11 mph with the people & gear mentioned above.

Nice set up. Coupla things. The battery should be protected from rain and next to transom may get wet on a windy day with waves. Cross your safety chains on trailer.
It's a 4 stroke motor? Bimini top would be good for rain and sun protection.
