Ls500 will go thru the same predicament as the Ls400, 430 and 460. No one was buying them new. No one was really buying them certified pre owned. People got them when they depreciated enough to the point where value and reliability met. People noticed how well built they were. How much tech was packed into them. Ls500 will blow up when you can get them for $20k. At the point people will appreciate how great the vehicle really is.
I think part of the problem is that, on the outside, it doesn't really differentiate from an ES; it doesn't look special. The interior is a great place to be but the car doesn't present as flagship vehicle on the outside.
@@Slytheybut the newer es is built in U.S. and the Ls is built in Japan.
@Slythey I can tell an LS from an ES almost instantly. The LS looks more muscular. The ES looks more shredded down. It's like the difference between a muscular sprinter and a fitness guy. One just looks "thicker".
@@bosstechnology23 you and I can because we're Lexus fans. The difference isn't radical for the untrained eye. Normal people can tell the difference between an LC and every other Lexus. That's not the case for the ES/LS.
@@Slythey yeah, actually you're right
As a 2021 Lexus LS500h executive package owner. I have to say, comparing the ES to LS is like comparing a Mercedes C or E to the S class. The sophistication that you pay premium for the LS is way above The ES. To the not so sensitive consumer, they might look alike just like the E look like an S. Also, when you are comparing the ls430 to the ls500 in terms of ride quality and isolation, make sure you take into account of the tire sizes. The new LS500 mostly run on 45 series run flat tire while the LS430 mostly run on 60series regular tire. From my personal experience, the LS has now become a Porsche panorama Jag XJ competitor, it’s now a sports saloon. So comparing it with the old LS430 is kinda pointless.
First point: Have you tried an ES?
Second point which is more important than the first: Every new Lexus drives differently. I’ve driven 4 LS 500s, each felt and drove differently. I’ve also driven multiple new ESs, less discrepancy between them but overall exhibited excellent ride quality rivaling and in some cases exceeding certain LS 500s
Third point: I mentioned clearly that the 2021 LSs ride better but I’ve learned my lesson, it’s not worth my time explaining these nuances in great detail as the average consumer will not understand and does not want to understand such things. And of course owners just want to defend what they have at any costs.
Either way it doesn’t matter, congratulations on your purchase my friend, you are very blessed and that’s reason enough to be joyful
Obviously the LS is gonna feel more special but man I'm telling you that ES is something, especially the ultra luxury on the smaller wheels. I honestly think subjectively it feels like 80% of the LS for 50% of the price. As im never in the back seat I don't really notice the less legroom. Headroom isn't the best in either of them. And if you get the hybrid you can get up to 50mpg with the es 300h
I was given an ES300h loaner when my GX was taken in for routine maintenance and I was very impressed. Really nice sedan.
Love the content, the LS is a beauty.
Yea it's incredible what they were able to achieve with the ES for 2019 and up
Saying a car is outdated... is outdated. 😅😅😅
I don't want or need tablets all over my car. I'm cool not having touchscreens everywhere. I like the connected analog feel. My neighbor said I don't drive the IS500 since I got the IS Sportcross. 😂
I like the LS. The more I see it, the more I like it.
I totally forgot you bought the IS Wagon, such a rare gem and I get why you're always driving it, older vehicles were just on point on how they felt.
This tablet movement is sad but what's sadder is the masses actually want that and are looking forward to it smh
You are not the first to equate the ride comfort of an ES to a LS.
The LS is beautiful 😍
The interior is beautiful, simple, modern, luxurious. I test drove one recently and I totally agree, this is outstanding quality, luxury, and value, when compared to everything in it's class. I also agree it's perfect with just the F Sport package. I do like the basic luxury package as well for the air suspension but you are right the regular suspension is great.
did you also test drive the ES ?
I still have such a soft spot for this thing, regardless if people ignore it for the shiny S-Classes. Just glad that the car that built Lexus lives on.
You talked me into it Kevin. Sign me up for one. Lol. It looks stunning! The rear-wheel drive makes it even more compelling. Thanks Kevin
It really is a special machine, really misunderstood but for those who want the special blend of performance and refinement this blends together, I think they will be pleased
same here Jose. this guy (and kirk) got me to sell benz 4 Lexus ❤❤😅
Well I own or have owned a couple that you mentioned. With that said I loved my LS500, and traded to an SUV. I then bought a 24 ES300h, it is not the finish level of the LS, but I do think it is fighting way above its weight class. Excellent review Kevin.
Yea my friend it's crazy how well the ES reaches above its price point I'm very impressed with it and super happy you have one and are enjoying great fuel economy benefits as well 👍
She's definitely a sipper, averaging 47.2 over 2700 miles, 3/4 of which is congestion or heavy traffic, and a very good overall car, and really good stereo.
@@jeffamburgey7485 that’s awesome 😎
At least there's buttons, switches, and knobs -- unlike the new BMW and Mercedes models.
I think this world might be in favor of the full tablet movement because in my comments all I see are people begging for ambient lights and full digital gauge clusters such a shame
@@MeynMotorGroup - Digital gauges and ambient lights are one thing. But no buttons, and / or touch capacitive buttons is where I draw the line.
Exactly it's such a nuisance and so many cars that are being redesigned are coming with the full on tablet interior it's going to be tough buying a new car moving forward
The newer LS model is a seriously fine car, notably better than the new ES, in my opinion, but the difference in cost between the two may be discouraging people from rationalizing the purchase of an LS. I traded in my 2020 ES350 F Sport (around $52K new) for a new 2022 LS with upgraded seats, Levinson audio, etc (around $88K). By this math, my LS costed around $36K, or 70% more, but is it 70% more car(?), I'm not sure, but after a year of owning the LS, I have zero regrets about upgrading to the LS. Every time I took my ES into the dealer for service, I would go into the showroom and just gaze at whichever newer LS was on the showroom floor, and sit it in, just jaw dropping excellence, everything about it, especially the interior. The ES and LS look very similar to each other, but the driving experience is notably different, to me. I had a 2004 LS430 for a very long time, and when it came time to let go of it, I was hoping to get something very similar (but such a thing doesn't really exist anymore in the Lexus lineup, Lexus has moved in other directions). I never owned an LS460, was just never happy with the way the car felt, to me (based on test drives). The 2020 ES350, although a nice car, was not the answer I was looking for, just felt like something wasn't there, and maybe not fair to expect an ES to match my expectations of my older LS, so I upgraded to the 2022 LS, which completely blows the LS430 away (everything radically upgraded). Such a shame hardly any LS500s on the road, I rarely see any, it really is a great car, and when you compare the total cost to own (cost, insurance, repairs, maintenance), it is so much lower than most of its competitors (Audi, BMW 7 series, Mercedes S class). If you really prioritize high tech, then maybe this car isn't the greatest choice, me myself I could care less about most of that, honestly, just like to get in the 2022 LS, turn up the stereo and hit the gas! Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!
Kevin’s take on this being the updated/upgraded GS makes a lot of sense to me.
Yea my friend it’s got some great on road dynamics that I appreciate with a beautiful interior 👍
I saw on the Internet a few days ago.. The LS500 has a new digital instrument cluster that looks so amazing. It's not the LFA one wow it looks amazing. To be honest with you in MY personal opinion.. I appreciate the route that Lexus taken via the approach of this car. 7 series and S Class have dominated this category with screens and for me it's become extremely gimmicky. LS have taken more the Bentley and Rolls Royce approach... Excellent materials, physical buttons and a plush quiet ride. That's what luxury (back to basics) is all about
finally got my own Lexus. you buy one not coz its fast. just that.. life is good.
Massive congrats on your new purchase my friend! It's a great brand to buy into for sure they just make special feeling cars that specs can't convey
It just needs the 5 L V8 and then it would be perfect. No excuse on the top flagship to not have it when the LC, RC and even IS all have it. It’s a staple
RWD was critical when I bought my 18 GS new and will keep for the long haul. People don't realize on AWD GS's that it is an out procedure when repairing the typical oil leaks as they age but not on a RWD GS. Don't know if this is the case on the LS?! Tuber "The Car Care Nut" brought this to my attention when he serviced my GS. I knew that was the case when I bought the car.
The best thing Lexus has going for itself is,they are very reliable vehicles just like those Toyotas are.
I like the LS, thanks Kevin 😀
I like it too buddy
$87k is a horrible price
118.000 in Canada
Just a heads up for my Lexus customers. I bought the rim and tire package, hit a pothole dent my rim and they told me they would not honor it because it’s still holding air. Do yourself a favor and skip it, what a total rip off I’m pissed.
Do you know if the package is pro rated? If it is you can cancel the wheel and tire package and get a portion of what you spent refunded back to you but if it is not pro rated, then unfortunately it would have been a waste
I've been looking for a base LS500 with just AWD and sound system and not found a single one of them, looking nationwide. Most are in the low to high $90's price with many features/options I don't want. Can one order an LS? Currently driving an IS500 which is so much fun but I really need more space and the back seat is very limited with four adults in the car.
Yeah no, it’s tech is way behind and the dash looks outdated. Yes, the materials and build are spectacular, but it is a generation behind.
Resembles a lot like the Porsche Panamera
If I had 80K I would not buy this, because I dont hav a house yet and I can invest the money in something else that can make me some more. I want to start my own clothing brand. Everyone can do what they want, it's your money after all. These are beautiful vehicles, I can get good use cars that look brand new for 23K from Japan. I respect everyone's choice on my they choose to buy. Great video by the way
Broke.
This is a great comment.
Honestly, I have an LS600HL & my brother has an LS500 2022 & it’s amazing how the LS600HL out does the LS500 in comfort, quietness, interior quality, ride smoothness, sound system sounds better.
But the LS500 does handle more like a sport car, the LS600HL around corners & bends is like dog shit, though the LS500 handles very well in those situations,
The LS500 already has something in the driver door that rattles when driving while the LS600HL has zero inside rattles.
Interesting stuff honestly that it’s getting harder to find good luxury comfortable sedans, in my opinion there’s only BMW, Bentley, Rolls Royce & Mercedes that still make great luxury comfortable executive size sedans. Lexus for me is right on the edge of cancellation.
All the extra comments like how many are sold in the US, what the best package to buy are greately appreciated. I am interested but know very little about this brand or model.
For the new LS, the sales figures are dismal at best, which is a shame, considering just how stealthy this car really is, and just how much CHEAPER it is than its German competition (Audi, BMW, Mercedes). As for the package, it's all about personal choice. The hybrid costs 30K more and gets lousy reviews, and frankly, if you want a car like this, gas consumption would not be very high on your list, so would not consider a hybrid. If you want the best looking version, it's the F Sport, hands down. However, if it's your own personal comfort and satisfaction from driving (quieter ride, softer seats), with looks being secondary, then get the regular model, get the upgraded seats, and if you feel the need for better audio, get the Mark Levinson audio. So many complaints about this car only having 6 cylinders, but now, everyone else is doing that too, so nowhere left to go for 8 cylinders.
Should I skip the dynamic handling package..seems like it.ll make the car more enjoyable
If you like it then get it. Will turn this into a 6 figure car at that point
🤩🥰 LS would be in my dream garage 10000%! also, LX, LC, RC...all with the F! and the Land Cruiser the US doesn't get to buy. Plus, Porsche 911 and Mercedes S cabrio. In HEAVEN!
We must put away worldy treasures to obtain heavenly treasures my friend
Appreciate your videos Kevin. I left my 2017 Mercedes S550 and got into a 2020 Lexus LS500. I was highly dissappointed. The car was no where near as nice as my Mercedes. It was plain interior and the seats were horrible on my road trip. Beautiful vehicle and reliability like no other but it is not on level with some upper Luxury brands. Sorry just not. I have since went back to a 2020 Mercedes S560. A completely differnet ride than Lexus. Your right though; just buy ES350. Much more for your money.
I'm glad you shared this my friend, I've noticed a lot of discrepancy with new Lexus vehicles, some feel like a dumpster, others feel incredible just all over the place. But the S class is amazing glad you got another one.
So is there no All Wheel Steering for the AWD model as stated earlier?
Great video and info
Glad it was helpful!
I think Lexus threw in the towel along time ago with the LS. If they want to sell more they will need to do three things: Upscale that interior alot more. Included every option as standard equipment and drop dat price.
They can honestly give these things away for free and people still wouldn't want them. When people get into this stage of vehicle, they want that S Class and nothing else. Mercedes is cleaning up in the flagship sector.
@@MeynMotorGroup Well, when they removed the v8, they really stuffed a foot in their own ass, also if you are taller, forget about fitting...its a terrible car......the last generation LS 460 is a far best car....
@@lazynow1yeah imagine if they threw the 5.0 V8 in the Ls500 with NA, twin or single turbos as an option.
@@DeathhAngel1 That would be a good option considering the price point of the LS 500 and the name
@@MeynMotorGroupThat’s not true. S Class cars are for old people. Truth is people are moving away from sedans and buying SUVs. S Class sales are down this year tremendously. Still, a lot of people are waking up and still seeing that Mercedes is not a reliable car.
Ok bro another one to enjoy very soon thanx bro have a Great weekend 🤝😎
Really appreciate that bro always love hearing your thoughts!
@@MeynMotorGroup No problems bro 🤝😎
Odd how the ES has more legroom
For the price, no thank you. I'd take a 2009 to 2011 Lincoln Towncar Signature Series for a comfortable, durable, reliable fullsize, rear wheel drive luxury car.
Cool Beans!
Yes sir thanks again!
If these came in a V8! I’d definitely get one
Yea that's very true a V8 would make this perfect ideally the 5.0 in the LC
@@MeynMotorGroup Also if you are over 6 ft tall...you cannot drive this car......just stupid...also...at this price point no v8....just stupid....
Nothing's new 😍😍😍💯
I like it but japanese never change their cars quality and specification it's the same fucken 3,5 liter engine that been exist in the most Toyota and Lexus and tundra cars so is the Technical and technological specifications in a poor car compared to others this Lexus LS 500 should be like mercedes Benz s class and Maybach and bmw 7 series 760i japanese they could lose the market if they do not develop and improve the quality of their cars to keep pace with the labour market
Gs in disguise
🫡😎🤝👍🏾👍🏾
Over priced because of the German Luxury cars…
