"Look into the mirror, do you recognise someone, is it who you always hoped you'd become". I'm 46 and those lyrics hit me hard!!. This song has so much meaning to me.
This is one of the the songs that helped me to have the inner strength to make my dreams come true. From a suppressed muslim female, to full freedom and independence. And doing it in style 🎉. Brill song that still makes my heart flutter and smile because when I look into the mirror it is whom I always hoped I would become, when I was young. ❤
Spectacular lyric writing What language was invented for To portray emotion with such humour and class. A truly beautiful thing to achieve in anyone's life. Truly and utterly brilliant
Loved everything these guys ever did, I was lucky enough to meet Justin at a gig once in Kilburn about 25 years ago. He's a lovely fella and really knows how to write a heart wrenching song.
Oh those heart wrenchers, tell me about them. This side of the morning still brings the tears back from a lost love. Waking Hours and Change Everything will never leave my playlist,
People talk about bands who never got the recognition they deserved and this band for me definitely fit that category, they did some really top quality music and lyrics.
Del Amitri utterly fantastic still now, when youth is past, dreams choked, and pain constant. Still every word means something deeply satisfying. I remember buying Hatful of Rain and going home on the bus reading the lyrics until I could listen to the tape. The world is a terrible place sometimes, but Del Amitri always let me go back to a time when I was more hopeful. Maybe we’re all trying to go back there. Everyone says how underrated they were and holy shit that’s true. Sublime.
Sad to hear about Justin Currie's Parkinson's diagnosis. We're all getting that bit older and things just end up getting screwed up with age... Great track and hell of a band!.
Look at the fool you have been. These words resonate with me at the age of 52 and the end of my second marriage. I love Del Amitri. Always have done. Thank you for your creativity and giving me songs that help me to express myself too. Music was and is my first love. Thank you 💙
Great band, the lyrics they wrote were top class. Several times over the years when some one has been telling me about a bad relationship they're in I've quoted ah mate your 'driving with the brakes on' 'swimming with your boots on. In this tune 'watching former lovers growing old' I seem to be doing that now lol But then again Nothing else really matters but Here and Now!
My youth and my heart. This is a masterpiece in both - music & lyrics. Thank you very much, Del Amitry, that you has been in this life. And I'm so sorry that you are not there anymore. And thank you, Justin, that you didn't leave music for good, your albums are great too. Special thanks for your "The Fight To Be Human".

A wordsmith who says what we wish we could. Eloquent.
Saw them with my ex partner at York Barbican in 1995. She died on 13th June this year aged 49. So she will never be old.
Spectacular lyric writing

Love this song , it's a close call between del amitri and the killers for who has the best when you were young , both cracking masterpieces.

After all these years, this song still gives me goosebumps... and has even more meaning.
Quite the most lyciral bass by Justin. Much nostalgia for me. Great song great band saw them back in the day.

Damn this group is good! I knew a couple of their songs but now I am listening to a whole playlist and I haven't found a bad song yet.
Agree. I heard Roll to Me on the radio and hoped they were not one hit wonders. Crikey what a band!
This oldies still echoes in my ear!!
True talent. Great band.
Absolute classic....

Great song! Looking fit Justin! 😜
Love you Del Amitri...
Still good music in 2020
A little parody of pain - complete fucking genius
Soundtrack to my 90s
Before The Killers 'When You Were Young'. Quality songs (both)
I think this song plays at the end of Aspen Extreme which was a terrific ski instructor movie with Trevor Eve in it .
Great musician🎼nice refreshing melody on this song, thanks Justin💚⭕️💚
Yeah Dave, best album ever eh?
Yeah yeah I know, it’s much better than the rubbish you like
ASPEN EXTREME - CLASSIC
It seems like yesterday, and gosh it´s been 20 years.

Does anyone have the tab for the guitar? Would love to learn this song, and need the help to figure it out.
