      The story behind it was that they were actually training for Pan Am tournament that weekend, and he was just a random guy that joined that day. They filmed the whole training but cut out the other parts to make a fun video. It wouldve been suspicios af if they only recorded him so they didnnt: but the video woudnt be what it was if they uploaded hour and 30 of whole training.

      Ivan Martinez Again it is not uncommon for relatives to record in a class room.
      If they had a news crew there, then yeah they would know it was staged, but to think it doesn't happen in class of film recordings, no it happens, unless specific instruction from instructors requesting ahead of time for students not to be films.

    • @deadmanfly1587
      @deadmanfly1587 8 лет назад +33

      i dont say its fake, i just say it is strange that in a Dojo where every student is practising and one guy just stand there with his camera or smartphone in his hand and films his Whitebelt buddy at his first day in the Dojo? and nobody is recognizing something is going on here?

      The Po Po Stupid comparison. In competitions you fight those Who are the same belt as you are, so there's not a huge difference in skill, as well as the number of techniques you and your opponent know. So wearing a White belt to a competition while being a black belt means you are going to fight White belts and obliterate them, thus defeating the porpose of the competition. Also, it's a Dick move and no black belt should ever do such a dishonorable thing

    • @cptant7610
      @cptant7610 8 лет назад +2

      Fuck no, if I treat every opponent like a black belt then they will die.
      A lot of moves are plain dangerous when performed against people without experience.
      They might not even know extremely basic stuff like when to tap. If you apply a full force armbar on someone who doesn't know how to react than you will break his arm.
      Also sparring isn't at all the same as competition. competition is for looking who is best, sparring is for increasing both your skill levels.

    • @dochatteras
      @dochatteras 8 лет назад +2

      CPTANT I certainly didn't mean 'treat them like a black belt with the amount of force and violence that you use.' I meant with the respect and self-discipline that you show.
      If you think, "Oh, this guy will be easy, because of the colour he wears around his waist," then you could find yourself in trouble real quick. But if you say, "This guy is a rank lower than me, but could be extremely athletic, or experienced in another art, so I better take this seriously," then *you will get the best out of yourself and your opponent.*

    The part that had me laughing myself into stitches is when one of the students asks where the 'white belt' trained before, and he says "they used to grapple a lot at his Kung Fu school". I about died laughing, because I've heard that SO many times at a BJJ gym, and it usually doesn't mean anything... the new student usually is at ground zero. But in this case, it had the whole room awestruck. Great joke, (and learning experience), for all the students that night... and a great one for us watching, too! • @lawrencekhoo503

      but he is higher than them. So..

    • @jiyotorres1815
      @jiyotorres1815 8 лет назад +36

      Carlo Colvin its a teaching moment. its a lesson on not getting into the mentality of just cause someone lower than you beat you, you should just give up on a position. its a pretty common mentality. a few times when i grappled someone of a lower belt, i tend to go easy but not to let them beat me, and they would get a submission in, in order to not look stupid i just let them have it instead of fighting it off so it looks like "i was teaching them." a bad mentality to have.

    • @stuartkeating6508
      @stuartkeating6508 8 лет назад +6

      +Rhett Romney But that's a weird way to teach it. Like I'm sure a person of lower belt can beat someone higher, but this video doesn't really do that. That is a black belt who is beating everyone lower than him.

    • @AysarAburrub
      @AysarAburrub 8 лет назад

      except for the fact that he's not lower rank than them, so the whole thing is pointless. In a training session, of course i will go easy on someone who is or claims to be a newbie. But in a real fight, or in a tournament there's no way im going to go easy on anybody.

      Don Mega A fanbase is not the same as a community. A fanbase is filled with biased opinions, everybody trying to fight for their favorites. In a community like this everybody is all fighting for the same thing which in this case is jujitsu. It's much friendlier
