I have seen in a very long time. customers are really concerned with the price and the quality of the new Tacoma rightfully so we have seen a lot of recalls lately with Toyota and we have seen a lot of problems with the turbo charged hundred engine ! $47,000 for SR5 is a lot of money ! #trdskidplate #2024toyotatacoma #solaroctane #toyotatrucks #toyotatrdpro #offroad4x4 #toyotatacoma #foxshocks #trdprotacoma #trdoffroad

Im pretty sure being an old platform and outdated has some effect on price along with inflation and interest rates. Toyota cant justify increasing price on an older truck. Nissan is charging near 50k for a pro4x and thats really an ancient platform. And its a trd offroad competitor, not even trd pro. As soon as the new tacoma came out they jacked up prices to match competition. I'd say the midsize truck market is onpar with each other in terms of price. Trd pros and ranger raptors are special edition trucks now so they are priced astronomically high with markups

Does anyone remember a month or 2 ago, these exact trucks had 54-56k stickers? That tells me they were playing with funny money, just like I suspected. They appear to have done away with that for the most part, and the trucks are still 10k over what they’re supposed to be. TRD Pro was meant to be 50-51k, now you might get a Sport for that if you’re lucky, made entirely in Mexico, with a small screen, smaller 4 cylinder engine, manual cloth seats and no features. Maybe I’m crazy but that’s the definition of pissing on me and telling me it’s raining. I hope these trucks don’t sell, because they don’t deserve to be bought. Toyota has not earned your money, don’t give it to them. They moved manufacturing to Mexico and saved a boatload of cash, producing tacomas for pennies on the dollar. How do they pay that savings forward to their loyal customer base? By giving us $50k base model SR5’s with manual cloth seats, 4 inch screens, and no features. I’m disgusted. The ZR2 is 48k in every state in America, and it’s manufactured in Missouri. Until Toyota can match that or get close to it, it’s a fuck no for me. How do you move production to Mexico and your price jumps by 10-12 grand in 1 year? That’s fucking insane. If Chevy can produce a truck in America, give it more premium features and better equipment as standard, at a far better price, how the fuck is Toyota price gauging a made in Mexico 4 cylinder? Is it a 10k Mexico tax? Maybe they’ll move production to China and give us a 60k SR5 built in China and it will be a 50cc 2 stroke instead of a 4 cylinder.

What's crazy is along with the much higher MSRP's Toyota decided to ramp up production at two separate plants in Mexico to over 300K a year. I think the reason these things have so much plastic is because its probably easier and cheaper to build them quicker. I guess they figured their fans have no limit on how much "toyota tax" they can throw at them. The other issue is how they charge for every option separately. I'm not seen any other oem to that to this scale. This new gen is 5-15K more. Price wise it's more matched up with full size. They missed their price targets for the segment horribly. I mean its not even close. Toyota really believes their customers will pay anything for the brand. The marketing is purely emotionally based and off target.
