    I'm hearing people are already having problems with these smaller engines, overheating issues included. Keep in mind, it is a pickup truck, it's supposed to be able to haul and tow. However, these smaller engines seem to be screaming and revving high without a load and without hauling anything. I really don't want a pickup truck that has a hard time hauling itself around, lol.

      @@littlekennytv5668 Back in 2019 I got an extended warranty on my Nissan frontier Pro 4X for 1400 dollars for 10 year bumper to bumper no deductible. I got them to slash that price over half on that warranty. Problem is that generation of Frontier with the port injected 4 liter/5 speed is so reliable. I've yet to exercise that warranty even one time lol. Its literally the last of the old school reliable trucks. Now with newer trucks with thousands more gizmos/sensors and safety features I'd probably be more inclined to get an extended warranty. Especially a first model year Tacoma made in Mexico if you know what I mean. Now if its the outgoing port injected made in Japan 4 Runner it might not be necessary to buy that warranty. Also remember labor rates at dealers have gone to insanity levels. As car sales start to slow down they rely on price gouging the costs of parts and labor in service to criminal levels.

      @@michelle-lz8tg I know mechanics who have been Toyota shills for DECADES, saying these engines are trash. When you keep making the engines smaller in these heavy vehicles, and then on top of that, throwing a turbo on it to make up the lack of power, you've now got a smaller engine that has to rev harder and higher, being pushed EVEN harder by a turbo to make the same peak power as before, burning itself out faster than any V6 could. PERIOD.
      And 100,000 miles ain't sh-t. Chevy's and Ford's make it to 100K and they're garbage. I've had Toyota's with over 400,000 miles on them. These new Toyota's ain't that.
      So, yes, Toyota done f-cked up, and they keep f-cking up so that they can meet US emissions standards to save a few bucks. When in fact, these turbo charged 4-bangers burn more fuel than a naturally aspirated V6 when you try to use it like it's meant to be used, to make power.

At the dealership in Glen Burnie Maryland, the salesman told her she could have the premium and they would subtract all the charges, meaning all the crap they charge you for, you didn't want, including the sunroof. She still told them no, she really doesn't want a sunroof, lol. So, food for thought, you really can use all these premium packages against them.

They are targeting the children that need all the stupid tech and people think that they are saving the planet with a 4 cylinder. Unfortunately for Toyota most of these idiots are broke and can’t afford the outrageous price. You are a smart man keeping your 3rd gen as long as possible. Lil Kenny
    Until you started talking about the 4 cylinder engines have the hp needed to be happy with, I was with you on most of your thoughts. At 75 years old I’ve seen engines come and go. This one will go and the reason for this is as follows:
    1. 4 cylinder to get this hp you have to turbo and putting one on that engine is creating stresses it’s not designed for. By that I mean where the v6 would go 300k-500k this one most likely won’t last that long
    2. Reason for not lasting- turbos have to be cooled down for 1-2 minutes to allow the oil to cool down. If you don’t then the oil can boil in the lines and your bearings will degrade over time. What young man or woman who comes sliding into their drive way is going to be willing to sit and let it cool?
    3. Oil changes- Toyota wants you to go 10,000 miles between and even for the v6 that is 5,000 miles to long. This one has to keep CLEAN oil. I’ve always said Toyota wants us to go that 10,000 mile so these engines won’t last that 1,000,000 mile mark. Can’t blame them in a way. They want us turning over purchasing much sooner. Oh, yes I can.
    Well this is just about engines. When you consider the things in the drive train that are already going south, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the v6 coming back and some much needed changes made back to the drive line prior to this 24 year model.
    And don’t get me started on the plastic parts in the interior as well as the exterior, dash, bumper, door panel. The road noise alone will keep me out of this one. I’ve never seen such garbage for sealing around windows. Get some speed up and rattling from above mentioned parts as well as the console is so loud, I had a hard time hearing myself think.
    Now for the pricing. Oh boy. I purchased a limited 2021 and drove it home for $39,923. Thought that was outrageous so guess I won’t be upgrading any time soon.

      Thanks a lot for the reply and the read my friend. I really appreciate your feedback and your knowledge of the subject. I have heard those things too so that’s not the first time I’ve heard them so that lets me know maybe there will be issues I’m really hoping there won’t be but like you said, I kind of feel like the car manufacturers don’t want vehicles to last 1,000,000 miles. They want you to buy a new vehicle every few years why wouldn’t they? I can’t believe they would even put a engine in like this that could have so many problems expecting people to sit in their car and wait for a car to cool down is insane and it’s hard to believe. I would’ve much rather of the eight of the six anything maybe even super charged but what do I know? Question for truck owners.. I live in FL and everytime I go snowboarding I rent a AWD SUV. 6 weeks ago I discovered FL has black and double black rated MTB (mountain bike) trails. I lost my mind when I saw the extreme stuff we have here and immediately bought a MTB.
    The problem is, a MTB is to big for the trunk of my challenger and definitely to big for my other car. I bolted a hitch to my wife's SUV for a bike rack but I think I need a truck. Looking at a Tacoma or Frontier.
    My questions are:
    1) why would you lift a inch in the back and 2 and a half in the front? Wouldn't you want the same lift height? Unless maybe it's to compensate for engine weight?
    2) For those of you who live where there's snow how do you typically drive on the highway? 4x4 and keep it under 55mph?
    If I fly out to CO it's a non issue. Rent a AWD SUV. But if I have my own truck, I can just drive 9 hours to NC or TN to snowboard on the cheap.
    I guess AWD would be best on icy roads. But in this case it's either 2x4 or 4x4. Not sure which is best.

    • @littlekennytv5668
      @littlekennytv5668  8 месяцев назад +1

      4x4 is going to be better than a 4 x 2 in the snow any day of the week I would highly recommend a Tacoma it’s just gonna last forever and you will love it but if you were able to get around in the snow in a rear wheel just fine then maybe you don’t need 4x4 but if I was gonna be doing any off-roading or going to areas where you might want to ride your mountain bike to like secluded areas maybe it where you could get stuck or with a lot of snow I’m definitely recommend in the 4 x 4 again thanks for the reply and checking out the channel my friend. Good luck. The Tacoma is the best Lil truck you can get you will love it.

    • @respond_code3
      @respond_code3 8 месяцев назад

      @littlekennytv5668 it's not really snow I was wondering about. Definitely if I was driving through snow then 4x4 for sure. That's typically found off the main roads at resorts in parking lots. Or maybe I'm driving to a hiking trail. But I was wondering about driving on the highway in snowy areas. The roads don't actually have snow on them. They are plowed and salted. But they can be slippery AF. So AWD is awesome. But that's not a option in the tacoma. It's 2x4 or 4x4.
      I have been doing some research and it seems 4x4 mode is not recommended for long stretches of paved road. You can cause binding and tear things up. So I was wondering what mode truck owners used in a situation like this. I guess you have to be in 2x4 mode really. Especially since the highway speeds are 60-70mph. And I'm seeing not to drive over 45 or 55mph in 4x4.

I think this is what I thought the Toyota Tacoma should’ve been in 2022 ! But what I did learn once I got into the Tacoma is that less is more and that I appreciate it not having every single creature comfort the truck is nice and simple when I know how to use everything on it unlike the 2024 a bunch of big screens snd buttons and computer stuff lol and no physical emergency brake ! Like an idiot I sold it after I bought my 2005 Tundra which is an excellent vehicle. For me to spend $50000 on a new Tacoma which is made in Mexico is very unrealistic! Additionally, I am 65 years old and I will never get 22 years out of that vehicle. Also, I bought a car built in Mexico and it has been recalled twice due to paint issues.
