Synopsis:A legendary monster named King Ghidorah awakens Rodan, as well as other titans, to destroy the world. To defeat them, the crypto-zoological organisation Monarch must rely on the almighty Godzilla.
Loved this so much and if you guys can't wait for Godzilla vs MONKE, it is on Patreon right now for early access: www.patreon.com/SebScreen
Be sure to check the teaser for that at the end of this video! What was your favourite part of Godzilla king of the Monsters?
In your opinion do you prefer 2014 godzilla or this one?
If you haven’t seen it King Kong 2005 Is amazing 🔥🔥
Please watch prey and the predator movies they are so good and they tie in with the alien movies making alien vs predator
Holding your breath doesn't help against an oxygen destroyer. Also the reason Kong didn't answer the call is because he straight up just ignored it and instead just killed all the Skullcrawlers who answered the call.
When are u going to do Godzilla v King Kong
I'm still confused to this day as to why out of the 4 Monsterverse films that KOTM performed the worst at the box office?? It had the best hype, the best monsters, classic music. It's still my favorite in the Monsterverse
It’s because the trailers came out a year or two early before most of the general public saw it and critics couldn’t keep their mouth shut.
For some stupid reason people were bitching about how unnecessary The Lion King Remake was but they still paid $1 billion to go see it anyways and most people hated it and it got bad reviews by critics, why people were surprised by that I have no idea. I’ll be honest I did not even pay to see buddy for that terrible remake in the theaters I downloaded it off the Internet and even that I still felt like I was ripped off. As to where with this movie people were hyped about it but it’s still under performed which is fucking bullshit
Ikr
It literally has King Ghidorah Rodan and Mothra what more do people want
@@ihavenoname2ndaccount726 Destroyah, maybe?
Exactly my point
The "Oxygen Destroyer" was the weapon used to kill Godzilla in the original 1954 Godzilla movie. Back then, Godzilla himself was an allegory for the danger of nuclear weapons, and the Oxygen Destroyer was like the next-level weapon that humans came up with that could destroy Godzilla, but at the cost of adding something even more dangerous to our arsenal of self-destruction.
And it's also the thing that created Destroyah
Ironically, the original Oxygen Destroyer was built by one DR. SERIZAWA, the same character that Ken Watanabe's character plays homage to in the series.
At the cost if creating Destroya!)
I'm actually quite curious to see how they would implement Destoroyah in the monsterverse cuz in the old Toho movies not even Burning Godzilla was strong enough to beat that thing
@@Arri9707 To be fair this incarnation of Godzilla could survive the Oxygen Destroyer going off at point blank, so maybe that balances out any power discrepancy with Destoroyah?
The first trailer for the film is still one of the greatest trailers of all time. Looking back at the trailers and remembering how hyped I was for this movie back in my sophomore year of high school really made me nostalgic.
The last jedi trailer is so awesome
I remember watching reactions to it and getting hyped.
The second trailer was absolute bonkers🔥🔥🔥
@@apatternedhorizon Yep, and it was my second most anticipated film of 2019, behind Avengers: Endgame (obviously).
Yeah... the trailer for King of the Monsters is the best trailer I've ever seen
"Don't kill Mothra!" I love you for saying that. Even though she had a few minutes of screen time, i cried some when she killed herself for Godzilla. Also, you can see and hear her when Godzilla explodes towards the end.
Her wings in the nuclear blast are probably one of my favorite moments form the movie
Yess 🥺 Mothra is just very easy to love shes so beautiful and kind
It’s cooler considering the original burning Godzilla film had Rodan’s soul not Mothra.
The Monster Zero reference is from Ghidorah's second battle with Godzilla in Invasion Of The Astro Monster. In it Ghidorah is controlled by aliens who number things instead of giving them names. If you watched the end credits you would see that Emma was largely correct in wanting to free the Titans. The natural radiation that they passively emit is helpful to the earth's eco system. So having them roam free helps, but when they get out of line Godzilla keeps them in check! Her mistakes were 1, she never should have let anyone know that the Orca worked. 2, She should not have gotten involved with an eco terrorist! 3, and lastly she shouldn't have released Zero because she didn't know enough about it to accurately predict what it would do.
Emma was basically Thanos of this universe. 😂 Also your points are totally correct. Her planned would’ve worked if they didn’t include Jonah and Ghidora in her plan knowing well that one is a eco terrorist and other one is known as Godzilla’s enemy.
Let's face it, Emma was a genocidal bitch. I wish she had been crushed by her precious Ghidora's big toe.
Ghidorah wasn't killed by the oxygen destroyer, because he's from space where there is no oxygen. And it grew back only 1 head, because it's not a Hydra
So Godzilla looks different for several reasons. In the comics he actually had another encounter with a kaiju. It was against Muto Prime. Pretty much the last alpha Muto. In a fight with it Godzilla got his spikes blown off and newer and stronger ones grew in their place. This resulted in an increase in power and since he's been more active he got bigger.
The muto prime was basically responsible for planting the muto eggs in the Godzilla skeleton corpse from the first movie. Those eggs are what killed that Godzilla and as they grew they fed off the radiation. Luckily Godzilla wasted it before that happened to him
Also Mothra actually didn't kill any humans. She just webbed them. And I still can't get over that she shanked the shit out of Rodan
Can you help me understand this part? So Kong and Godzilla species has a war in Hollow Earth. The Kongs went to skull island where the Big One Skull crawler killed the rest do the Kongs while Godzilla species battled the Mutos? How did the big one kill the Kongs when Kongs are the size of Godzilla, they should’ve just stepped on it unless Kong is just big for his size
@@tmac731 not everything is completely explained or thought through but we hsve some things. Kong's parents were definitely bigger than him based on their skeletons during skull Island. However there were a lot more skullcrawlers active back then. So they could easily be surrounded and overwhelmed by numbers. And during Skull Island kong was only at less than half his full size. The reason Kong survived this long is because the skullcrawers aren't nearly as active anymore. He had time to avoid them, grow, and take out the ones he found before they got bigger. But it's because of the humans interfering that he killed the big one. It wasn't the big one alone that killed his parents. It was many with it.
No matter how strong you are if you are jumped by multiple opponents it can be your undoing. Even as powerful as godzilla is he struggled with fighting two muto at the same time. The same situation applied to kongs parents
@@clasher138 nice explanation but in Kong Skull Island, John C Reily said the big one killed his parents. It wasn’t multiple but I’ll take your answer because it makes more sense. But still even if it was multiple Crawlers, the size of Kongs should’ve just stepped on all of them unless it was a 10:1 ratio
@@tmac731 The other kongs never got enough radiation or time to get as big as kong. His parents were only 100ft tall
Also godzilla dorsal spines are now flexible and can give out a pulse That's why when Godzilla fell from basically space his spines didn't break and why there was a blue light on impact. He basically last second let out a pulse to slow himself down.
I'd love Mothra's own spin-off movie. Even if it's not released in cinemas but available on streaming platforms would still be nice.
There is! It's phase 2 of Monsterverse, Mothra. Coming soon to a cinema near you

mothra already has 4 movies for herself Rodan needs his own film he never had one since 1956
@@Algeriawindows69 he means MV Mothra
@@antonstjern8378 mv mothra is not a separate characters
Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidora are all classic monsters of the franchise. Main characters if you will. In many cases Godzilla teams up with Mothra and or Rodan to fight Ghidora and seeing them all in big CGI instead of rubber suits was really neat.
Fun Fact, at 26:19 the actor for Dr. Serizawa was originally going to speak in English here according to the script. After a few seconds though he mentioned how he should say the line in Japanese because both he, his character, and Godzilla(or Gojira) are from Japan so speaking Japanese kinda just made sense. Everyone in the room immediately agreed.
Further fun fact, Ghidora’s three heads are named Ichi(Middle), Ni(Right) and San(Left), or the Japanese words for One, Two, and Three. The fan base has however come to call the left head Kevin.
Also ANOTHER fun fact, after Ghidora is blasted by Godzilla's atomic breath shortly before attempting to kill Madison, his original roar was used while approaching her
Kevin, that moron.
The sound design of this movie was amazing it’s like you can feel it, I get goosebumps watching it. Ice cubes son was really good in the NWA movie if you haven’t seen it yet.
his son looks just so much like the younger him. fitted sooo good in the movie of NWA
Honestly, the movies aren’t great compared to others, but the animation and sound design are some of the best I have ever seen. And don’t get me wrong, I love this franchise, it’s a unique take on some of the most recognizable monsters in history, and tells exactly what the original films were trying to say, humans cause huge damage to the environment, and eventually it will fight back.
Hearing mothra’s cry when Godzilla defeated Gidorah was heartbreaking
In the novelization, Kong was busy keeping the skullcrawlers from answering Gadora's call.
"I can't tell how big it is until it's standing up properly" Seb 2022.
This movie is PHENOMENAL. Yes the story isn’t the best (though for a kaiju movie it has a decent story), the action is just awe-inspiring. The music is top-notch, the cgi is amazing. I love everything about this movie. It’s my favorite movie of all time, and it isn’t even close. Absolute masterpiece.
I love this Godzilla movie. The only I didn't like in this movie was that lady was just too crazy.
@@nathaniellampman2052same, I love this movie because of the monsters and I would skip almost all the human scenes to see Kaiju battles
Seb is lowkey the best reaction RUclipsr. its sad he doesnt have 10 times the subscribers he has.
YESS 💯 RUclips algorithm fails our boy constantly 🤦🏻♂️
I was bouncing in my seat at the theater the entire time because of the sound design of all the monsters in this movie! Hearing it on those speakers is something else man, the people I saw it with were laughing at the pure joy and fascination that came over me for the entirety of the movie.
Ice Cube's son, O'Shea Jackson Jr., isn't just there as a cameo because of his father; he's an actor in his own right, starring in other movies, and recently in the Obi Wan series.
After these monster-verse film’s you gotta watch some more Godzilla movies. Personally my favorite and the one I think you should watch is Godzilla Final Wars cuz it’s just crazy and fun to watch
The problem is that it may get taken down like Timotheereacts watched Shin Godzilal but he couldn’t the full reaction.
Final wars baby
He gotta watch the original king kong vs godzilla lol
We need a third Godzilla vs. Kong in a different movie franchise so we know for sure who would win. Kong won the first, Godzilla has won the second, but we need the final boss.
That's like saying 'Check out the MCU movies but start with Endgame'.
That Rhodan entrance still gives me so hard goosebumbs unbelievable
*Rodan
I can't wait for you to react to Godzilla vs. Kong, not just because it's the greatest battle of the century, but how it actually helped revived movie theaters during the pandemic!
"I don't care about the story" is pretty much what I felt watching these films, I just wanted to see the Kaiju, when the Human characters are in danger or just died, I'm just like "yes very sad, anyway..."
Just a simple story. I like that. finale war was awesome and had a simple story
right... we came for monster fights... however in some of the godzilla movies the humans do help him....
what about dr serizawa 💀
The story wasn't even horrible, to be honest, it was the most decent one for a kaiju film nowadays, in other words, not very good, but also not very bad.
But hey, humans are important too, did you forget the Toho films?
O sea, hasta lo vería ya que siempre viene con un brillo en el cielo, y seamos realistas, con ese poder incluso podría manejarlo pero no esquivaría las migajas del asteroide.
Been looking forward to this reaction! It's my Favourite Monsterverse movie thanks to King Ghidorah :D
King Ghidorah is my fav but Godzilla's ok
same, this movie was incredible
Kiryu is my personal favorite, but we likely won’t see them in the future if only because their predecessor, Mechagodzilla, is kind of dead and not likely to come back.
Same
The dry "Auf Wiedersehen" really got me 😂 Thanks for your concern Seb, I see you're really rooting for us 😭
I love how in Godzilla’s atomic pulse at the end has the Mothra’s roar and her wings in the pulse
I think this may be my favorite reaction video, keep up the amazing content seb!
I hope we get a Mothra spin-off eventually. Such a cool creature. I love that she leaves an egg behind every time she dies to be reborn. She's truly the Queen of Monsters.
Don't say that, there are people who ship her with Dogzilla, who is the king of monsters! (it's a joke ship because they are always paired together, So don't take it too seriously)
King Ghidorah is my favorite of the kaijus in the Monsterverse and nothing could've prepared me for how awesome he looks in this movie when I first saw it. He steals the show and, at least for me, is the true king. #hailhydra
I voted for godzilla but your opinion
I still love the first one the most but this one was pure gold too.
The reason Kong never showed up in the end of this movie was because he deliberately ignored Ghidoras alpha call, he wasn't interested, he didn't want anything todo with other titans, he just wanted to stay and protect his home. No one tells Kong what todo.... Hence the events of Godzilla VS Kong.
big monke does right
The Monster Verse is just so fun and has such an enjoyable world to explore ^_^ And yeah, the humans are fine, but we’re all here for the Monsters. 🐛🦋✨
I watched this film in a 4DX theater in Puerto Rico. It was honestly amazing.
You want another monster/kaiju movie?
Watch Pacific Rim. It's pure badass
In terms of Kong not being there, he heard the call, and pretty much couldn’t be bothered and instead decided to stay on his island in the peace and quiet
If you loved the music in this, done by the amazing Bear McCreary, one of the best composers of this current generation, you should check out Battlestar Galactica, Outlander, Agents of Shield, and others. He also did the soundtrack for God of War (2018).
@ 18:25 :The device works by activating a chemical stored within its spherical center, which causes the center to split in half and open. Once released, the chemical (later dubbed Micro-Oxygen by Kensaku Ijuin) reacts violently with the water, isolating oxygen molecules and splitting them. The molecules are then liquefied. This means that any organism exposed to the chemical will first suffocate from the lack of oxygen, and then disintegrate. Depending on the amount of the oxygen destroying chemical released, the body of the victim will either be eaten down to the bone or destroyed completely.
Your reaction vids to the MonsterVerse have been dope to watch! I also shed tears when I get too excited lol but this one also got me actually misty eyed a few times due to pure nostalgia with some of the music, especially Mothra's theme.
Watching this video made it feel like I was watching it for the first time again, such a good feeling
Bradley Whitford is the actor who plays Dr. Stanton, the "guy who loves the one-liners." He's amazing in the TV show "The West Wing" where he is King of one-liners as well.
LoL, holding your breath won’t save you from the oxygen destroyer. Your flesh will disintegrate from it’s chemical reaction.
I’m built different
@@SebScreen lol, love your reactions dude
I saw it with my best friend in the cinema (Imax 4DX) on the premier day and we were literally speachless. Few days later I went again to watch it for the second time and I loved it even more.
Gojira is Godzilla's real (Japanese) name.
Godzilla is what the Americans call him because they're mispronouncing Gojira.
Monster Zero's name is King Ghidorah.
The pterodactyl is Rodan.
The giant moth is Mothra.
mosura is also Mothras japanese name
Godzilla is later confirmed to be the English version of gojira later in japan after the first movie in 54
As for Kong, I think the director of the film said that Kong was basically the Simpsons 'Willie hears you, Willie don't care' meme during the whole events of the movie, including when Ghidorah was ordering all the other Titans around.
Seb: "You can't hate your own bloody species!"
Me: "Ohhh, yes I can." lol
Same here
I've gotta say, as one of the few movies I had seen back then in theaters, the scene with volcanic/supercharged Godzilla gave unmatched goosebumps to this day, feeling the charging/pulsing in your skin
Ice cubes son did what every other actor did, auditioned. Its kinda upsetting that u just assume he got this role bc of his dad. He is a decent actor and did the part well
Ice cubes son is actually a huge big fan of Japanese Godzilla films same with the Director as well.

Fun fact: The composer for this movie is Bear McCreary - the same guy who did music for the 2018 God of War video game. He did a fantastic work with the soundtrack and arranging the classic monster themes.
Lol. I love when Seb teared up cause it's so much bigger than he thought.
AY-YOOOOOOO

The oxygen destroyer can destroy cells causing any life form from to break apart, but there with the oxygen destroyers being mention, it should go without saying that another Kaiju is being teased
Ah, a kaiju that could potentially ‘destroy’ Godzilla you speak of? LOL
@@codentia___4369 😂😂😂
@@shawnabraham7740 it did in the first ever godzilla movie i think.
Godzilla and most of the titans would *body* the Avengers lol as for some of your complaints;
16:16 - they weren't trying to hurt Rodan, just get his attention
25:29 - Jonah literally says "the ORCA no longer matters" to Emma...that's why they left it unguarded. The eco terrorists had got what they wanted by that point (awakening the titans)
Are you sure??? Damn it's so hard...
I can proudly say I saw this in cinema and it was amazing! Worth every penny! Especially when it got to Godzilla fighting Gidourah.
Indeed. I actually was surprised when me and my family went to watch it, I thought we were seeing Endgame the third time, which would have been cool as well.
This is the film that got me into Godzilla, and I’m really glad that it did
This is such a phenomenal film, the Monsters, the chills it gives you, the development of Doc sacrificing himself to save earth but also his long time "friend" Godzilla, Mothra is the MVP using the last of her powers to give the one true king the boost he needed.
Everytime Godzilla charges and burst in the final battle you can hear Mothra’s cry 😢
32:27
My most favourite part of this film has be when Godzilla arrives in Boston with the army beside him and iconic theme playing in the background, it gave me so much hype and goosebumps when I saw it in cinemas!
yes love this one a lot and i always turn it up loud for the Queen who is still alive she has a rebirth thing were she lays an egg eventually dies and then the egg hatches and she is reborn
"You can't make an omelette without setting a few monsters free!" I don't why I love this so much, but I actually want this on a Godzilla T-Shirt 😂🤣
If you enjoyed this MonsterVerse, I have to suggest 'Pacific Rim' to you. It's directed by the great Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy, The Shape of Water, etc...) and is basically 'Godzilla vs Robots'. There is a sequel to it (Pacific Rim: Uprising) which is watchable but no where near as good as Pacific Rim.
(At 15:50) Rodan, a volcanic colossal pterodactyl with the power of… SuperSonic flight.
LOL! perfect timing Seb, and not even one minute into it! complaining about the footsteps being too loud, needing to chill... and then THE roar comes in!
the oxygen destroyer was employed in the first Godzilla movie (1954) to kill Godzilla, before he was turned into a monster for the people.
I love the part where Ghidorah charges up with the electricity and Godzillas moves his head and likes huh
This movie was amazing, I remember seeing it in theaters and loving it
Lol that cabin that Mark was in WAS Tony Starks from Endgame, and the actress who played young Maddie was the actress who played Morgan Stark.
KOTM was the first film I’ve experienced in an IMAX show and it was wild! It felt like I was living each Incredible moment with the titans that showed up, especially with Big G and Monster Zero.
The post credits scene of Skull Island had me hyped for this film and I was not disappointed with what I’ve experienced. Third favorite film of 2019, after Avengers Endgame and Dragon Ball Super: Broly!
This’ll go down, as the most hyped movie, from 2019. I saw this in the cinemas, and it blew me away. Visually and coolness.
I love this movie so much. My favourite of the new Godzilla "trilogy". The music is great, it's filled with little winks and easter eggs to the classics (even just those close-ups on Godzilla's face when he's disintegrating Ghidorah), so many gorgeous shots with the colours and framing - Mothra spreading her wings, Mothra in front of Kyle Chandler, Ghidorah roaring on top of the volcano, Godzilla firing his beam in the air, etc.
You can tell it was made by people who are fans. It's such an overall good time of a watch, despite the forgettable human stuff. Love it.
they really are gorgeous films. my personal favorite scene is Ghidorah on top of the volcano, its stuck with me since i first saw the film.
With that ending shot, I hope they attempt a new take on the Mecha-Ghidorah plot from previous films. It would be nuts.
Love it when he says “NOO I WANT MORE”😭
This is by far my favorite Titan movie. It’s not everyday you see your home town get bulldozed by 100ft tall monsters. Plus this had probably the best story so far and this was before Millie Bobby Brown got all stuck up
Mothra first appeared in the 1961 movie Mothra then faced Godzilla in the 1964 film Mothra vs Godzilla.
She is also the second most popular monster in Japan after Godzilla.
Rodan first appeared in the 1956 film Rodan.
King Ghidorah appeared in the 1964 film Ghidorah the Three headed monster in this film also featured Godzilla, Mothra and Rodan.
King Ghidorah has faced Godzilla the most in all the films Godzilla has been in and is considered as Godzilla's arch nemesis.

Defenetly the best Monsterverse/Godzilla movie. Ghidorah is just pure beast and the fights are perfection. And Honestly the characters storyline wasn’t that bad either, although the mom did many shit things she got pretty reasonable motive (crazy and insane but she had a point in some way), but I mean common who even watch Godzilla movies for the characters? I just want to see Kaiju fighting, amazing monster designs and cool lore, which this movie has.
There are many references and easter eggs in this movie:
- The oxygen destroyer is from the original Godzilla movie in 1957 where it successfully destroys Godzilla. Decades later, a direct to sequel movie shows how the weapon gave birth to a new Kaiju, Destroyah, from Godzilla vs Destroyah in 1995.
- Dr. Serizawa's name is also references to a character of the same name in the 1957 movie.
- Burning Godzilla is reference from Godzilla vs Destroyah from 1995.
first Godzilla movie was in 1954 not 1957

I was never a HUGE Godzilla fan before these movies.
Then I googled King Ghidorah after this movie.
In its debut film, Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster, Ghidorah is portrayed as an ancient extraterrestrial entity responsible for the destruction of the Venusian civilization, five thousand years before the film's events. Its attempt to destroy Earth is thwarted by the combined efforts of Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra.
After that I was sold. I'm contemplating a Godzilla tattoo this December.
(At 10:05) Wing hands, no forearms (or arms for that matter), barbed tails? I think it's obvious King Ghidorah is not a dragon, much less the Layrmian Hydra. He's a three-headed golden Wyvern… with gravity beams.
Dude the trailers were the most beautiful trailers I have ever seen… like they were the GOAT like fr fr. The first Clair De Lune trailer, tears y’all.
Ghidorah's fucking sound has given me nightmares when I fell asleep watching this one time.
Ghidorah's alpha call was one of the best cinema experience in monster movies.
"I record everything, man." Best line.
This is the best monsterverse film in my opinion, love the fights, shots and music.
Him: *the 2014 movie* ah one last roar for my ears
KOTM: Here! Have 200 more!
Can you do more Godzilla movies please? You gotta watch the original Godzilla movie from 1954 then watch the heisi era Godzilla movies
The Avengers actually fought Godzilla once in a comic, he inexplicably showed up in new York and they couldn't beat him so they sent him back from wherever he came from, the creature isn't stated to be Godzilla by the characters because they wouldn't know its name but his design even had the OG dorsal spikes on his back
One of my favorite things about this movie is how they recycled the original Toho Studios Godzilla roars.
Saw the earlier (like earlier even before we were born) version of this and it REALLY GOT ME HOOKED. I WOULDN'T SAY NO WATCHING ANOTHER REMAKE IN THE FUTURE .... maybe when we'd be considered in the elderly age group.
this movie is so amazing so I don’t know why people don’t like it.

Quick news, they are currently shooting for a new monsterverse stuff right now
I freaking LOVE this movie. Yes its script is so bad and the humans are just there as cardboard people BUT its so much FUN seeing the monsters on screen for so long and cool designs and effects. This movie is so much better then Vs Kong. Sadly it did not do well and Kong did so they making more movies like that but I want more like this.
33:40 Kong heard Ghidorah’s alpha call but he was like “ nah screw it “ 😂😂😂😂
also Kong is an alpha species like Godzilla and Ghidora so when Ghidora called to the titains cause Kong is an alpha species he ignored the call

Hey Seb, off topic but in Avengers Infinity War in the flashback with young Gamora it shows Thanos’ army killing half of the population thinking it would help them thrive. In Guardians of the Galaxy in the prison scene it says that she is the last surviving member of her species.
